It’s been thirteen million years & Minster & the good time crew are still here…its September, autumn in full swing and we haven’t done too bad so far this month compared to previous months but I still think we are owed ladies.

Oh and we don’t just talk TTC, we’ll chat about anything. In fact that’s positively encouraged cos TTC can be bloody boring sometimes!

It costs an embarrassing life (or TTC) story for your ticket please then you can hop on board

Agency bus driver at the wheel.…

All aboard bus number 48

Plugging @minster2012 blog \\\___, we’ve had cancer, travels & ivf so need to get to the fun stuff, more ivf, surrogacy and more! #shamelessplug
minstermusings.co.uk for the blog that’s where the full stuff happens
& minstermusings on insta - some of our ladies have made special anonymous accounts so we can link up via me 🥰 so if Insta gets mentioned it’s there

If you want to sign up & get updates please do, please note your username if you comment shows up to others so maybe make it anonymous I won’t be offended 😂🤣(unless you are mean)

@larrythelizard @Minster2012 I start next week I'm afraid! Thank you for remembering ♥️. Larry I saw your insta and Christ he really took a tumble didn't he!

@bez91 ok you're gonna have to tell us what you're daughter did to end up in a&e whilst at nursery 🙊

@Vil10 so unfair isn't it - makes me wanna chuck things at your friend 😂

Got woken up middle of the night for some BD - I don't think that's happened in YEARS. That's the third BD in a week so maybe things are improving...

I'm so excited today ladies - just in a really good mood! I'm finding the autumn weather super cosy, I'm excited it's my last week at work and I'm only a month away from my IVF appointment! I'm super curious about all of it - I wanna know what protocol they'll recommend, what on earth my ovaries will do etc. All in all a happy camper here - I'm sure it's all to do with getting boinked last night!

larrythelizard · 27/09/2021 10:32

Oh @Dollybird89 I'm so so sorry. 💕💕💕💕

Juno231 · 27/09/2021 10:55

@Dollybird89 oh dolly I'm so sorry! That was so fast I can't believe it - big big hugs to you and your family xxx

Somatronic · 27/09/2021 10:59

@Dollybird89 I'm so sorry to hear that terribly sad news. Thinking of you and your family during this very difficult time 💔

Silver31 · 27/09/2021 11:15

@Dollybird89 I'm really sorry to hear that, that was incredibly sudden and must be a shock. Sending love and hand holds xx

Minster2012 · 27/09/2021 11:46

@Dollybird89 oh hun I'm so sorry, the biggest of love and hugs for you that's awful 😩

@bez91 / @larrythelizard I think maybe our nursery/pre school are used to my feral child 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️they used to send us so many accident forms back & ask where bruises were from when we dropped off that they then gave us a digital form to fill in "to show us knocks that were there on drop off" at home so that they didn't worry about what was already there from home!!

@bez91 when's your other scan? And no I'm afraid it's not a nursery day today I'm afraid but at least it means I'm busy. We've walked the dogs (before torrential rain) been Tesco & now he's at his first swimming lesson without me 😱

@larrythelizard on the work you know you've got it!! Come on girl!

@Juno231 midnight BD and 3 times a week that's fantastic 🍆🍆🍆and I love autumn too as well & yes you can Def look forwards to the Ivf now it's not far!

larrythelizard · 27/09/2021 12:12

Really pleased to hear you so bouncy @Juno231 - 🍆 always helpful! I too am looking forward to slightly cooler weather just so I can wear my new knitwear and coats!

becarefuloutthere · 27/09/2021 12:38

@Dollybird89 I am so so sorry to hear this. My condolences to you and your family 💐

paintfairy · 27/09/2021 13:03

@Dollybird89 I'm so sorry. Hugs xx

@Minster2012 yes I had a great time! Apart from the lack of sleep. I'm like a zombie. 😴
The ridiculous fuel crisis overshadowed it a little though. I was stressing the whole time if I had enough fuel to get home! No one near home could get fuel and we tried calling the local garages where I was too. I didn't really pass any with fuel on my way home I don't even think. They were all empty and coned off. Ridiculous affair. Really makes me angry. Utter morons. Thankfully someone helped me out or I'd still be sat there..... 🙄

Somatronic · 27/09/2021 13:26

So today I learned that grapefruit should not be eaten when you're taking letrozole. I don't know why, it may just be for women who take letrozole for breast cancer or it may be for people taking it for fertility too. Either way, I feel foolish now. Hopefully I haven't done any damage. Day 3 of letrozole tonight and I'll have to stop the grapefruit. It's a shame cos I really enjoyed it! Hopefully the evening primrose oil is still OK to use.

The fuel situation in the UK seems really crazy. And no end in sight from what I see on British media?

@Juno231 glad you're in good form! Weather here is lovely today too. And great stuff on the bedroom activities. I haven't done that in weeks, mainly due to thrush. We only have sex now when the fertility nurse schedules it for us 🤣

2020mission · 27/09/2021 13:31

@Dollybird89 so sad to hear that 🥺 all I can say is at least he's not suffering in any way now. It sounds like you've been a great daughter and really helped look after him over the years. Take care of yourself 💕

Just popped on to check how everyone is doing and it seems most of you are feeling quite positive? @Juno231 are you actively trying or protected until you're in the job after next week? Nice to know the IVF appointment is getting close.

bez91 · 27/09/2021 13:37

@Dollybird89 I'm so so sorry, sending you the world of love 💕

@larrythelizard hmmm I suppose it depends what's on your P45 as your end date but even surely the tax won't make a massive difference with another months salary? Yes I'm waiting to hear back if the consultant wants me to have another nhs one but I've booked a private one for when I'm about 9 weeks (we go away when I'm 12 weeks so hopefully it'll provide a bit of relief before we go)

@Juno231 She was about 18 months old and took her hooded jacket off, got in a tangle with it and landed awkwardly on a wooden kitchen and spit all her chin open. Luckily her nursery is within hospital grounds 😆 I was consoling the nursery manager and keyworker in a&e as they were more traumatised than DD and me when they had to glue it back together. I think they thought I was going to sue them or something but it was just a real freak accident.
I might have missed it but how did the exit interview go? No wonder you're in a good mood missus 🍆 😉 hopefully he's vibing it improves your mood and there's more where that came from!

@Minster2012 other one is 15th October, the one I booked was that was the next appointment anyway 🤷‍♀️ arrggh sorry about your early wake up call. Not long for you now to wait 👌🏼

@Somatronic ooh that's strange. Why is this out of interest? A particular ingredient in the grapefruit or that it counteracts the letrozole?

I'm back from London, was lovely! Thanks for booking a seat for me, happy to ride along. CD14 so far, ovulation is supposed to be this weekend which would be awesome, as starting Monday my sister-in-law and her boyfriend will be staying with us for a week, don't see any BD going on then ;)

But first of all, @Dollybird89 I am so sorry to hear! Sending you lots of love and strength for this difficult time!

@Somatronic I just read yesterday evening that grapefruit can counteract a lot of medications actually! It messes with the dosage so it can lessen the imact of some but also strengthen others! Blew my mind.

Juno231 · 27/09/2021 14:06

@2020mission in theory we're holding off until the job starts but it's not as if OH remembered that last night... I have zero hope it will work naturally at this point though!

@bez91 holy moly although chins do split easily so I'm surprised it was their first one! The exit interview was... scathing. HR is obvs on the company's side but will be interesting to see if anything changes. I suspect not. At least I got it all off my chest - I've carried a lot of anger about it the last few years.

Juno231 · 27/09/2021 14:09

@Somatronic ah yes it's notorious for messing with blood pressure medications but I had no idea it would be a contraindicator for letrozole!

@paintfairy can't believe you nearly got stuck at horse camp Grin. Speaking of horse camp - I was moaning the other day to OH that we never managed to go to a yoga retreat together and once we have kids it'll be too late. Funny how the brain works that I can still find stuff like that to complain about!

Lexber · 27/09/2021 14:13

Sending my deepest condolences @Dollybird89 you and your family are in my thoughts xxxx

whatwonder · 27/09/2021 15:05

@Dollybird89 I am so sorry, sending you lots of love through this incredibly difficult time x

blackcurrantqueen · 27/09/2021 16:56

@Dollybird89 I am so so so sorry darling 💕

@Somatronic most the time they say not to have grapefruit with drugs is to do with the absorption! It's quite a common one grapefruit for some reason!

Dollybird89 · 27/09/2021 17:53

Thanks everyone, it's not quite hit me fully yet, been in a daze all day. But at least he's pain free and no pain anymore 😔

Franklydear · 27/09/2021 17:55

@Dollybird89 so sorry darling, here if you need us
@Juno231 I suspect the interview is only good for your mood, nothing ever gets done, but good on DH, even if nothing achieved naturally, it's an improvement!
I am still feeling meh, when I should be horny, still in the this will never gonna happen land😥

Minster2012 · 27/09/2021 18:21

@Juno231 ah yes the exit interview too, no wonder you are buzzing, must have been amazing to get it off your chest. A yoga retreat in Dec I think would be amazing. DO IT 🧘🏼‍♀️

@bez91 that scan sounds like a great idea & perfect timing. Do you have a midwives appointment first?

@paintfairy honestly why are ppl nuts??? Glad you got back, is there any near you?

As a firm we have lorry drivers & 7.5 tonne fleet drivers & we've had to take measures to stop them going elsewhere (retention bonuses & putting others through HGV tests) It's a real issue we are fighting against 😔FIL joked with DH yesterday that DH would prob be more valuable as a driver than director, & hence why he got up at 5 this morning to drive.
I think @Franklydear should get shit loads more money using your driving skills 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Completely thinking of you @Dollybird89 & here if you need

❤️❤️❤️

DKDK123 · 27/09/2021 18:36

@bez91 I had my first accident form to fill in for DS nursery when he'd only been there a few weeks and managed to chip half tooth off. They were so apologetic and panicky and I just said I know what he's like, this most definitely won't be his last accident form here. I was comforting the workers rather than the other way round 😂 That's some title to get tho your DD being the first in 13 years for an A&E trip!

@dollybird89 I'm so sorry to hear about your dad 😢 Sending you massive hugs. What a shock it must have been for you with how quickly it happened.

@juno231 good to hear you're feeling chirpy now with lots to look forward to 😊

Doc put me on steroids and antibiotics for my chest infection. I asked him if they were safe to take during pregnancy, one isn't recommended during the first 12 weeks but in his words "The baby's not my priority, you breathing properly is. And if you're not getting enough oxygen through your system your baby's dead anyways." I know he's right but it still made me cry taking the tablets knowing after all this time finally getting this far now putting something into my body that might do harm just feels so wrong 😭

paintfairy · 27/09/2021 18:55

@Minster2012 nope, none near me unless you want to queue for 3 hours. I refuse. We've got a bit in the small car and DH only goes shopping and me to the horses so we are ok for this week. Hoping it calls down though!
@Juno231 yes I keep doing that! I can't abide going on holiday in the school holidays so I dunno how I'll cope. I also wanted to go with DH to do a US West Coast drive. And I certainly don't want to give up on horse camps. Whole thing is making me wonder if I should be not bothering at all! 🙈

Actually ivf peeps - what happens if by some miracle you get pregnant the month before ivf? Because you are already taking buserelin from partway through that cycle. Is that harmful? Clearly unlikely but I'm just wondering?

Juno231 · 27/09/2021 18:58

@paintfairy oh I literally read about this today! It's absolutely fine and they encourage you to carry on TTC just in case it does happen. This was in a CCG instruction manual thing that covered buserelin. I'm a weirdo, I know. One thing I don't get is how it could happen if the down reg is supposed to shut your hormones down?

Juno231 · 27/09/2021 19:00

@paintfairy but yes we also want to do the US West coast drive! And I want to hike up to Macchu Picchu. It's making me think maybe OH has a point in sending the kids to boarding school... j/k!

@Minster2012 I wish but I won't have enough leave days to do both that and see my family for christmas, seeing as I'm swapping jobs :( There's always something anyway - it would be hard to justify up to 2k on a yoga retreat when our house is close to falling over!
