Hi everyone, it’s my first post on mumsnet, I spent a LOT of time reading through these threads when ttc my son and they helped so much.

Now I’m back ttc my second and it is only our second cycle and I am already much more desperate for it to happen than I was the first time around with my son 3 years a go.

I think it’s because it took us 10 cycles to conceive my son and I’m already heartbroken over it potentially taking that long (or longer) this time around.

Anybody else out there ttc their second baby and feeling the same anxiety? I swear I drove myself mad last cycle, it’s no wonder it happened really, I was borderline insane with googling, symptom spotting and even poas as early as 4dpo

Hi @blueberryy, sorry you've had a long journey so far, must be really frustrating. How long did it take to conceive #1? Hope the back pain doesn't turn out to be AF, and that you'll be celebrating in a few days time...

I am 8dpo, with a short luteal phase (usually 10 days), and had some spotting last night - bright pink, just on wiping. There was a faint bit left on wiping first thing this morning, but not the last two times (trying to resist the urge to KEEP going to the loo to check!) so it's either implantation or pre-AF spotting, which I do get sometimes but usually turns into full AF pretty quickly. So just a waiting game today really.

Well I tested again with fmu (12 hours after last nights test) and it looks almost negative, maybe the faintest of faint lines 😩 Not sure what to think now! I think I’m about 11dpo today!

@L0ts still not out till Af arrives maybe test in a few days fingers crossed for you 🤞

@RunningOnHope DS took 4 months so this has taken us by complete surprise. Frustrating. Keeping fingers crossed for you that it’s implantation!

@Kiaa You are right, she is still 2/3 days away.

I tested yesterday afternoon after holding a wee for around 2/3 hours (but had drank a fair bit) and I thought I was going crazy but I saw a faint line.

Decided to hold a wee again for as long as possible and not drink anything, managed to hold it for 3 hours and an even more obvious (albeit still faint) line popped up, I noticed it whilst it was still developing. This was the one I posted last night.

Disheartening to think it’s a chemical or maybe two false positives 😔 I guess we will find out over the next couple of days!

Held a wee for about 2.5 hours but drank nothing, couldn’t wait any longer as I was bursting 😂 What do we all think? This is definitely a tad darker than last nights but just worried about that negative result this morning.

Top is yesterday afternoon and bottom is 24 hours later

@L0ts fingers crossed. I see a little line, and I know photographs don’t always show what you’re seeing. It’s tough testing this early because you just never know.

With my first born, I had a chemical the month before I fell pregnant with him. So I hold onto hope that’s even if a pregnancy is a chemical, there’s good news ahead.

@blueberryy You are right about testing early! I wish I hadn’t tbh but I just felt so odd yesterday. In fact all of today I have had the same aches that I’ve been complaining about on and off for the last 3/4 days!

AF arrived cycle day 26 last month and I’m now at cycle day 27 but in my own head (without the help of an app predicting it) I would be expecting her tomorrow.

Also sorry it’s taking you a long time this time around 😩 it took us ten months to conceive my son and that was pretty hard going, I really thought it would never happen! Hang in there ✨

@L0ts thanks! After all my venting and anxiety yesterday, I decided to stop being scared of POAS and did this am. I’m 11 DPO and I got a faint positive. I am still experiencing AF like back aches, so I’m concerned that it may be a chemical, but after so many months of nothing, I’m grateful to see a line, at least once.

Ah. App only and you have to wait 48 hours until you're allowed to post, apparently! Well. Guess we'll see if there's still a line in 48 hours.

Wicked back pain though, just like AF so 🤷🏻‍♀️

So glad you got a faint line @blueberry, how long will you wait before testing again? I've had 24 hours now of very light spotting, on and off. It's consistent with implantation, yet also consistent with the slow build up to AF so will see how the next 24 hours goes...

@RunningOnHope I think Sunday or Monday. I believe it takes 48 hours to double, right, so thinking it may not make sense until then. Also... allows me to hold onto this positive result a little longer.

I'm actually doing surprisingly well so far, really trying to keep my mind off it. But I find the first week easier than the second. AF isn't due till 17th keep telling myself I'm not going to test till then but I'm sure I'll crack!!! How are you getting on??

I think I am experiencing my first CP 😔 Tests ever since have all been BFN. I’m heartbroken 😔 I will never ever test early again, I would never have known if I had just waited for AF. Who is still a no show but I expected her any day from today really.
