After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@pineapple2021 that sounds horrible. I'd complain too
. Hope your okay xx

Juno231 · 18/05/2021 16:22

@pineapple2021 well that sounds magical... what the heck?! I'd complain as well, that's terrible!

@Lovebug06 oh no poor bubba! Must be rare for male dogs to get cystitis - I hope that's his last time!

ChinChilly · 18/05/2021 17:25

@Kay00 the one I've chosen has a good reputation, i went there for my scan a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely spotless. We have a hospital about a 5-10 min drive up the road but the maternity unit was closed a few years ago

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow Yeah i went there about 2 weeks ago and it took about 30 mins in rush hour-ish traffic

@pineapple2021 wow, that is pretty grim, glad you complained that behaviour is just not on.

@Lovebug06 aww poor boy, hopefully he's on the road to recovery now

Kat668 · 18/05/2021 20:03

@Kay00 I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. hugs glad your procedure went well and they're pushing on with the blood tests!

@ChinChilly that's all very exciting! I'd definitely have chosen the further away one, damn how can they get away with that dirt in the closer one!?

@pineapple2021 that's so horrible of them to give you that experience as your first appointment :( I hope they buck up better for the rest of your pregnancy!

@Lovebug06 oh your poor dog 😔 I hope it clears up soon and he gets better!

ChinChilly · 18/05/2021 20:22

@Kat668 I'm not sure but it's a horrible hospital, my grandad was in there a few years ago and it's just a horrible place. I don't think I'd be comfortable there.

Kat668 · 18/05/2021 22:24

@ChinChilly that's really terrible, I'm sorry your grandad had to go there 😔 you've definitely made the right decision.

MissM94 · 18/05/2021 22:27

@ChinChilly there's a hospital near me and it's the main maternity one and all the pregnant mums stand at the main entrance smoking 🤢 the joys of Manchester

ChinChilly · 18/05/2021 22:33

@Kat668 he was ok, but visiting him there was horrible, everything about the place.

@MissM94 Sounds about the same as Birmingham 🤣🤣 we live in a nicer part but our next move will be out of Birmingham for sure.

MissM94 · 18/05/2021 22:39

@ChinChilly horrendous isn't it 😂 yeah we want to move out of Manchester more into the countryside so fingers crossed we can get away from these shithole hospitals hahaha

ChinChilly · 18/05/2021 22:45

@MissM94 I know i saw a heavily pregnant woman chuffing away on a fag outside when i went for my scan and I just thought to myself really?!?!?! Yeah we want to move somewhere more leafy in the next few years

MissM94 · 18/05/2021 22:49

@ChinChilly literally!! They have no shame 😂 fucking disgusting.. not having that it's more stressful for the baby for them to stop smoking, nothing says will power quite like the human growing inside your belly! That would be more than enough to stop me doing something I shouldn't be! Haha

Juno231 · 19/05/2021 06:49

Woop I had a 0.4C temp rise this morning so I think it's safe to say I'm 1DPO! Managed to BD on O, O-2 and O-4 so we're well covered 🤞

ChinChilly · 19/05/2021 07:18

@MissM94 I know it really bothers me seeing people like that pregnant and probably easily when so many people struggle.

@Juno231 Yay! Great coverage fingers crossed for you this cycle

Kat668 · 19/05/2021 08:11

@Juno231 that's great! Keeping everything crossed this is your cycle! 😁

Kat668 · 19/05/2021 08:12

Urgh again with the gurning face ha ha its a nice smile when I select it on my phone!

MissM94 · 19/05/2021 08:23

@ChinChilly or girls that use abortion as a contraceptive 🙄 don't get me started haha

Kay00 · 19/05/2021 10:26

Morning ladies. I quite often pop the radio on, or maybe a documentary on whilst I work from home (I hate working in silence). Today I have put on... 'one born every minute' Shock

I'm an emotional wreck haha, I cry every time a baby is born! I hope we all get to experience this soon. This WILL happen for us ladies xxx

Juno231 · 19/05/2021 10:56

@kay00 haha what on earth were you thinking?? What a masochist Grin

MintGreenLife · 19/05/2021 15:03

Just wanted to post as lots of you may be facing making the same decision at some point in the new future - I had my first Pfizer jab this morn at 29 + 3. I found making the decision so difficult, but I did a lot of research and got the advice of my consultant and a GP at the vaccination centre today and felt reassured. That didn't stop me crying the whole time I was in the vaccination centre though! Now I've had it I feel relieved and that it was the right thing to do x

MintGreenLife · 19/05/2021 15:20

Meant near future!

Kay00 · 19/05/2021 15:40

@MintGreenLife hugs xxx that must have been very difficult, but I think you did the right thing xxx thank you for sharing

@Juno231 haha "masochist" haha! Grin

MissM94 · 19/05/2021 16:21

Soo just had a doctors appointment for my "check up" for 6 month off the pill, still not had my period so I'm 10 days late & cycle is currently on day 45, she told me to do a test & if I still haven't come on in a couple of weeks I need to go back to "talk about what happens next" whatever that means? She mentioned PCOS and doesn't think I have that as I have no symptoms of it, had a scan back in 2014 and that was absolutely fine and says it would be "unusual" for something to be there now if it wasn't there.
So I've just come home and done a test and it's negative so what is actually going on? I know things can be all over the place and I have to be patient but I just don't like not knowing what's happening.. at my last appointment she said it's good that I've had a period every month as that means I'm sort of on track so it's baffled me why the 6 month mark is the time it's all fucking up

Someone please calm my wild mind down that somethings gone wrong 😩

@Kay00 xx

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 19/05/2021 19:28

@MissM94 I'm near Manchester too, I presume you mean St Mary's? It isn't my local, but there are women smoking outside my local regularly too. I've heard good things about the midwives at St Mary's though. I used to work in a maternity department, and one woman was having a right go at the midwife for advising her not to go out to smoke whilst in actual labour. Not St Mary's but still Manchester.
Have you been tracking ovulation with opks/ bbt? Maybe you just ovulated late?

@Kay00 oh I love one born every minute 💕 and call the midwife too. I just cry like a baby.

@MintGreenLife hope you're feeling OK post jab, glad you feel like you've made the right decision.

I ordered some cheap opks online, one step they're called. When do I start using them? I don't know what I'm doing!

Lovebug06 · 19/05/2021 19:42

@Juno231 @ChinChilly @Kat668 thanks for the doggy love 🥰 the painkillers seem to work quite well although we get the odd whimper bless him.

@Juno231 good luck this cycle, fingers crossed x
@Kay00 I haven't watched one born every minute for years. It used to terrify me. I want a baby so badly but I can't think of the birth, scares the hell out of me! Maybe I should watch now and see if I see it differently.
@MintGreenLife
That must have been a difficult desicion, but I think the right one ❤️
I had mine 2 days ago at 11dpo.
I just had a sore arm and that's it, did you have any other side effects?

Currently 13dpo.no symptoms at all. Boobs were the tiniest bit tender for a couple of days but I think that's actually gone which is bizarre. Doesnt feel like my period time. I've come on the last two months a day later than i expected so I think it may be Friday instead of tommorow. Had the whole no symptoms before but not for a bit. Still a bit worried the vaccine will make me late which will be hard! Although I've read quite a few women have come on early. So who knows x
