After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

@Moocher90 @TheDaydreamBelievers 18 weeks!? Is there any way you can contact the Gynae office to check you are still on the waiting lists?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 30/06/2021 11:06

Unfortunately no @Moocher90 - our gynaecology waitlist in NHS Glasgow is about 6 months +. They don't contact you at all until they have an appt for you in our area.

I actually need to phone them to check whether they can give me an estimate of how long I will be waiting.

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 11:09

@TheDaydreamBelievers that’s crazy! Such a long wait time :/

Kay00 · 30/06/2021 11:26

Is it an option to find an alternative/fertility clinic ??

TheDaydreamBelievers · 30/06/2021 11:27

@Kay00 I dont know about for @Moocher90 but for me this isnt event fertility services gynaecology, its generic. Because we need to have been trying a year after loss to qualify for fertility services. This is why I'll be going private for testing soon (I have big research deadlines in august so planning on going private after that).

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 11:43

Yes potentially can go private @Kay00 however what with a move awaiting everything is up in the air and haven’t got round to researching places near to where I will be moving to x

JoeMalon3y · 30/06/2021 12:03

Hey everyone! Been lurking since I first joined...still waiting for AF to arrive after taking the mini pill it's been 8 weeks now! Started taking conceive+ ovulation support all it's giving me is cramps...just my luck that!

Also wanted to send my love to @ChinChilly ❤️ so sorry hun hopefully they will be able to give you some answers after the referral x

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 12:20

Weirdly I started spotting on Saturday evening through to Monday. Yesterday I had the smallest amount of blood in the morning and then it’s back to spotting today…. I am due a period but not really sure if I jumped the gun putting CD1 as yesterday as I have barely anything now. I’ve had a BM and I’m getting ewcm…. So confused. The only difference this cycle was I had the covid vaccination about 2 weeks ago

Kay00 · 30/06/2021 13:56

@Moocher90 thats sounds like the end of my last cycle too (coincidently my 1st Covid vaccine cycle)! I had about 5 days of stop start spotting (very light) with some EWCM in the mix too. I thought I saw a couple of vvvfaint lines on FRER/IC but I think they were just evaps/wishful thinking now.

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 13:58

@Kay00 I shall keep watch and see what happens and hopefully a period comes otherwise CD2 it is….

Kay00 · 30/06/2021 13:59

@JoeMalon3y Welcome! The cramps could be your body trying to ovulate/start its first period so hang in there! It seems very common for ladies to wait quite a few weeks before their first period off the pill.

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 14:34

I have taken the plunge and booked a couples fertility assessment. works out cheaper then having them done individually. Booked in for my first appointment on 27th July but hope a cancellation comes upas it’s just blood tests. Then having the scans after that but obvs they are CD specific so will have to wait until after my period.

GP is meant to be referring me to gynaecology but the thought of waiting 18+ weeks feels me with dread

TheDaydreamBelievers · 30/06/2021 15:06

Woohoo @Moocher90 - hoping that the testing is useful for you. In our area its ~550 which is actually very reasonable. I think for the same lot as you have linked.

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 15:14

@TheDaydreamBelievers it’s £690 for that but a hycosy alone privately is £500 so I think it’s pretty good value

Juno231 · 30/06/2021 15:16

@moocher90 sounds brilliant and very reasonable priced if anything like what @TheDaydreamBelievers said - especially as it includes a hycosy!

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 17:09

@Juno231 I haven’t got much to lose by doing this privately, the notes/findings get sent to the GP too so they will be stored on my public record. Hopefully give the nhs a kick up the bum so they can figure out why I am not ovulating and maybe start clomid

ChinChilly · 30/06/2021 18:26

Thanks for your support and well wishes everyone ❤ I think I'm going to take a break from actively TTC probably until the end of the year, try and focus on my health and the endless DIY around the house but I'm still going to lurk around and see how you're all getting on.

@Moocher90 that is a very reasonable price. My GP said there was a massive waiting list for the scan I had before my BFP but the letter actually came through a couple of weeks later but there is an awful lot of waiting around with the NHS. I've been told there is a 10 week wait for the recurrent miscarriage clinic 🙄

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 18:36

@ChinChilly if it wasn’t for a house move I would have been more prepared to wait but I think my sale and purchase will be in the upcoming weeks and then the issue will be changing GPs and probably being pushed back in the queue again if I have to wait for another nhs trust for a new referral as I’m moving to a different county.

ChinChilly · 30/06/2021 18:48

@Moocher90 ahh makes sense! Going private definitely speeds things up and at that price you've got nothing to lose.

Moocher90 · 30/06/2021 18:51

@ChinChilly I totally understand why you need a break but don’t be a stranger I’m sure some of us will still be here for a while yet…. Including myself 😂

ChinChilly · 30/06/2021 19:00

@Moocher90 I'll definitely still be hanging around, I'm not going to completely stop TTC but I don't think I want to track anything, tbh the thought of getting pregnant again absolutely terrifies me at the moment

Juno231 · 30/06/2021 19:05

@ChinChilly totally get the break but remember I'll still be here 😅

Tillybabs · 30/06/2021 19:46

@ChinChilly I'm so sorry to hear your news, so devastated for you. I really hope you get some answers with the referral and understand why you want a break away xx

WhirlingD · 30/06/2021 19:58

@Kay00 thank you for forwarding that podcast. I look forward to listening to that.

@Juno231 just by googling I found a wonderful charity called the Daisy network. They are campaigning for increasing awareness of the condition and have loads of great resources. I even had an online chat with a volunteer gynaecologist who was really helpful. And of course it's just nice to talk to others going through the same thing.

Had nice acupuncture session today. I find it relaxing. She has suggested I see a Chinese herbalist but I'm worried it will give me false hope! I have sod all eggs left and herbs don't grow eggs Sad Not sure I believe in it all. But then I read these testimonials saying great things. Has anyone had any experience of it?

MancMama39 · 01/07/2021 12:27

@ChinChilly I am so very, very sorry X
