After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

Take care @TheDaydreamBelievers & happy birthday. Thanks

Charliecircle11 · 24/05/2021 09:58

Sending you lots of love ❤️

Juno231 · 24/05/2021 10:54

@TheDaydreamBelievers sending you lots of love Flowers

6DPO, nothing much to report. Got my first jab tomorrow so am interested to see what impact it will have on my temp and RHR. Annoyingly it will affect any symptom spotting I might want to do in the second half of my TWW but on the other hand that's probably a good thing!

MissM94 · 24/05/2021 12:34

Hi girls, hope you're all well!
Just want to know what's the longest cycle you've had post pill?
Currently day 50 and I know I said I would try not to overthink and put it down as a weird cycle day but I'm really thinking somethings up now.. call it intuition haha

Juno231 · 24/05/2021 12:56

@MissM94 I think the longest we had on here was 144ish? Pretty sure that lady got her BFP on the second cycle. TheDayDreamBeliever is second at 140 I think and she got a BFP as well, although is back here after an MC unfortunately.

How long have you been off the pill now?

AllyCat31 · 24/05/2021 13:04

@Juno231 will be interesting to see what happens with your cycle/symptoms. Do you know which vaccine you’re getting? Got my appointment letter through but can’t make the one they have given me so need to call them

MissM94 · 24/05/2021 13:54

@Juno231 bloodyhell they are long aren't they.. but reassuring that they've both had BFP's, I almost feel abit over dramatic now 😂.. I'm 6 month off and cycles have been 34, 29, 35, 34 light 3 day periods so kind of slotted back into a nice routine but I'm currently on day 50, I haven't done anything different and haven't been stressed or anything it just seems so out of the ordinary after the past few months have been so smooth

Juno231 · 24/05/2021 14:05

@MissM94 ah I'd hope it's a one off in that case! They do happen

@AllyCat31 you got a letter?! Funny how it works from area to area. I managed to book mine before I even got the text letting me know I was eligible - but I got to choose from lots of tests and times. No idea what I'm having. I think they're mean to offer Pfizer but you won't know what's available until the day. I don't mind either way though.

AllyCat31 · 24/05/2021 14:10

Yeah, I guess everywhere is doing it differently @Juno231 I’m gonna keep checking the online portable for cancellations in the hope I can get one earlier. You get a big bright blue envelope here in Scotland! Also I know people who got a text for the drop in centres they’ve been doing in the areas with the Indian variant. They just had to go and wait for it but it was open till 8on which is pretty good. Just wondering how it’ll affect cycles as I know you can get a bit of a temp. Gonna try and avoid ovulation time if I can 😂😂

WhirlingD · 24/05/2021 17:22

@MissM94 I was 101 days after initial withdrawal bleed so I think I'm in bronze position. Positive OPK 14 days prior to CD101 so I'm hoping I at least ovulated that first cycle.

I'm CD21 of 2nd post pill cycle. I got a positive OPK on CD14 and jumped my partner at regular intervals around that time. Fingers crossed that by some miracle I'll get a BFP but I'd settle for AF at a normal time.

I had the Pfizer vaccine last week. But I doubt that will have much impact.

No temp rise so I've given up on that as it just stresses me out. Perhaps I'm one of those people who has no discernible temp rise. Of course, I could not be ovulating which is a possibility I'll have to investigate at some point. Might buy an OvuSense but I'll see how this cycle goes before I do that.

@TheDaydreamBelievers sending you love. Don't blame you for wanting to get away from it all.

Robyn101 · 24/05/2021 17:28

@MissM94 I was 137 days between my withdrawal bleed and first proper period.

Then 2nd one was CD64 when I got my BFP it really really made zero sense and I was very convinced something was going on but I just tracked my temp religiously and did an OPK every morning and somehow managed to catch the rare beast that was an ovulation for me

MissM94 · 24/05/2021 17:29

@WhirlingD god I'm so sorry that you've had such a shit time, I had a follow up with the doctor 3 month off the pill and she said I was heading in the right way because I had slotted into a period every month and cycles no longer than 35 days so that's why I'm just so confused why at the 6 month mark it's fell off the rails, just slightly worried as the doctor mentioned PCOS last week but said she doesn't think it's that as I don't have spots or excess hair growth but a couple of my friends have PCOS and the only symptom they had was an irregular period once every few months just randomly so I don't think it's fair for her to rule anything out just because I don't fit the stereotypical symptoms.. she said to allow another 2 weeks (1 week now) and if I've still not come on my period I have to go back and she will discuss the next step, which I presume is a blood test, I had a scan back in 2014 but she said it would be unusual for something to be there now if it wasn't there 6 years ago, but 6 years is a long time haha. Just don't like not being in control of myself or know what's going on I think and I'm just so scared that something could be wrong it really consumes me sometimes x

MissM94 · 24/05/2021 17:32

@Robyn101 bloody hell! What did you do to relax your mind at that time? I can't keep off google 😩 x

MissM94 · 24/05/2021 17:33

@Juno231 I hope so! 🤞🏽 doesn't help my swaying mind though haha

WhirlingD · 24/05/2021 18:23

@MissM94 I can spend hours on Google convincing myself of all manner of things so I get it!

@Robyn101 well done for persevering. Were you regular before the pill? I was pretty regular about 4 years ago when I had a 2 year break. God knows why it was messed up this time.

I don't think I have PCOS. My blood sugar is fine and LH:FSH ratio is fine. I sent my consultant gynaecologist best friend (very useful but I have to sit on my hands to stop myself bothering her ALL the time) my home test results and she wasn't massively concerned. She did say my FSH was high but that it was age related and nothing I could do about it so naturally I cried for about a day. Mostly, her advice is to stop panicking and have as much sex as possible as there's a chance all will be fine. Easier said than done.

Robyn101 · 24/05/2021 18:23

@MissM94 honestly it drove me crazy, I found these ladies when I was about 60 days after my withdrawal bleed and just broke down with a long ass message 😅 googled everything you can think of.

I’m due to get married soon (3rd time rearranging) and I vowed in my head that I’d give my body until the wedding to try it’s own thing naturally, sounds mad but I think once I’d given myself a date in the future I stopped stressing as much and somehow ovulated 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve still no idea what went on.

When I got my BFP I’d been off the pill for 7 months and just the one normal ‘cycle’ so curious to see what happens after the pregnancy

Robyn101 · 24/05/2021 18:27

@WhirlingD not a clue to be honest! I was on the pill in my teen years for heavy periods so probably went a good decade with no serious breaks off the pill l. I’m guessing that’s why my body just didn’t know what to do it was practically having to remember the whole process again

I found temping and OPKs just became part of my routine like brushing my teeth in a morning that I’d try and not read into too much and just trust that eventually my body might fall into a rhythm, or I’d reach my own imposed DDay to go and sort something with the doctor

MissM94 · 24/05/2021 18:30

@Robyn101 haha so glad I found this place, it's a life saver isn't it!
Sorry I've got a terrible memory so can never remember everyone's BFP history haha, so you got a BFP 7 months post pill?

Robyn101 · 24/05/2021 18:39

@MissM94 completely! I didn’t know what to do till I found this thread

Yep came off in September, withdrawal bleed straight away. Period early jan, BFP March and that’s my entire story of activity spread over 7 months 🤣 I’m certainly not a typical case

MissM94 · 24/05/2021 22:53

@Robyn101 haha that's amazing! Are you about 8 weeks now then?

Charliecircle11 · 25/05/2021 07:16

Morning everyone. So I came off the pill on Tuesday last week, had my withdrawal bleed Friday to today. Should I be doing an ovulation test every day? Thanks

Robyn101 · 25/05/2021 07:55

@MissM94 I’m 14 weeks tomorrow just through the first trimester. I don’t think I’ll calm until the 20 week scan but even then I’m sure I’ll find something to worry about

Juno231 · 25/05/2021 09:14

@Robyn101 ha and then they're born and you'll worry even more!

@Charliecircle11 sorry I can't help there, I'd only know what to do once you had your first AF! If you have cheap OPKs (so the big multipacks from amazon, not pricey clearblue) I would consider starting in a few days time just in case.

Kay00 · 25/05/2021 09:56

@Charliecircle11 absolutely no harm in doing an OPK daily (aim for your 2nd morning urine, for me about 11am) to work out your normal levels (could be close to 0%, for me they are about 30%). When they start to get higher (for me about 60%+) then I can expect ovulation to happen soon, so I start testing OPKs several times a day and we start DTD!

Ladies, re the long cycles, mine have never been quite that long: 47 days was my longest (although I have also had 2 x annovulatory cycles in the past year too). But I recently had some test results back and my AMH was high at 64 pmol, which might mean I have PCOS (I don't have any obvious physical symptoms, so maybe I am borderline).

Charliecircle11 · 25/05/2021 10:05

@Kay00 so basically DTD as much as you can even if low ovulation test and see what happens?! Think that’s going to be my plan anyway. The clear blue says to do it with the wee after my longest sleep but read different things on the Internet
