Post Pill Party - Cocktail Club

MissC07 · 14/05/2021 17:15

After a chilled garden soiree, it's time to shake things up and head to the cocktail club. Let's get into the spirit(s) - it's a whiskey business TTC so if you're feeling pretty fly grab a Mai Tai and have yourself some Sex on the Beach. Fingers crossed we get some BFP's and keep the Bloody Mary's away. Let the celebrations be-Gin!! Time flys when your having Rum!

Welcome to the 11th (!) post pill party thread for women who have recently come off the pill. Where we can all come and discuss the highs and lows of TTC.

Ladies already at the soiree:

@MissC07 thank you and also loving the intro 😍

I've been a bit awol after my suspected ectopic last month. Turned out to be an early loss and I think I just had another (positive then bled since Saturday til today but still getting a super faint line but guessing it will turn negative soon)

Had quite a few now and the dr has now referred me to the recurrent miscarriage clinic, feel a bit sad but glad it will be looked at a d 🤞🏻 we can get to the bottom of it

I hope everyone is ok! Definitely up for a cocktail this weekend after my week! What is everyone's fave?

FlyingGiraffe · 14/05/2021 18:23

@MissC07 Thank you for setting up another party for us! 🍸🍹❤ I was just looking at the list of names and thinking we should have an upgraded bump list now as I think I counted 9 of them with bfp's! 🤰 fingers crossed it isnt too long for the rest of us!! 🤞🙏

@TheDaydreamBelievers I cant believe this is the 6th thread I've been a part of! I do love this little group! 🥰

@kay00 hope you're feeling better tonight ❤. Sometimes they just don't get it do they? One of DH friends said to him back last summer that they would start trying early this year for their 2nd. I was hoping to be pregnant before but we've just found out shes already 20 weeks and they've been keeping it quiet. It hit me hard and he didnt understand until I burst into tears after having to reply in a group text. This ttc can be so tough at times. Sending you a big hug.

Cd12 today and a flashing smiley this morning. Hoping to dtd tonight if DH isnt too tired! Wish me luck! 😅

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 18:39

@MissC07 Hehe, I loved the intro, really made me giggle 🍹🍸🍷🥂 😆

@firsttimemummy321 so sorry to hear you're getting recurrent miscarriages, that must be so difficult. Really good that you have been referred now xx hope you get the help you need and a sticky bean to follow xx

@flyinggiraffe 20 weeks 😵 my friend kept her pregnancy quiet too... we wouldn't have known if her OH hadn't posted some throwaway comment on fb! Im feeling a little better thank you x just a bit weepy all afternoon. Good luck DTD tonight!! 😁

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 14/05/2021 18:45

Can I join?
I officially stopped taking my pill yesterday (last one on Wednesday), so I'm just waiting for my withdrawal bleed to start ttc.
I'm now 30, and have been on the pill since 16 except for when I was ttc/pregnant with my now 3 year old.

feliznavidad2 · 14/05/2021 18:53

Thanks for making the new thread @MissC07 and for the run down @TheDaydreamBelievers -
would have loved to have been around for the Ceilidh 💃🏻 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 💃🏻

Welcome @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow 👋🏻everyone welcomed me when i joined in late March. And I'm now in my first TWW. 😳

1dpo here. Already decided I've got sore boobs (I'm stupid.) 🙄

feliznavidad2 · 14/05/2021 18:56

PS fave cocktail is either an Old Cuban or a French Martini 🍍

mrsmacmc · 14/05/2021 19:06

@MissC07, thanks for the new thread!

sidles in with a St Clements mocktail

❤️ 🍹

ChinChilly · 14/05/2021 19:07

@TheDaydreamBelievers wow I can't believe we are on the 11th thread!

Welcome @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow 😊

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 14/05/2021 19:20

Thanks all!
I'm guessing a lot of you have had some dodgy cycles post pill? How long did it take things to average out for you guys?

MrsHInch · 14/05/2021 20:04

Hey all, thanks for the new thread!!!

Sorry I've been MIA. Busy busy in the world of Mrs Hinch!!

Just an update:

Came off the pill on 28th March.
Definitely ovulated & had a proper bleed 14 days following from ovulation on the 28th April (31 day between).

CD 17 today, definitely ovulated on CD 14.

DTD on CD 10 & 12 - not holding out much hope tbh, like I said I've been extremely busy. DP had his kids over on the crucial DTD day & one of them was poorly all night Confused

Looking towards a 28 day cycle here with current stats. I've never had a regular cycle, had a pcos diagnosis in 2016.

Went through all 6 rounds of clomid with my ExH, feels like such a waste tbh 😔 anyway, I've lost 8 stone in weight over the last 2 years through weight loss surgery and also have a new partner so things are very different xx

Fingers crossed for this month, I'm 3dpo and the longest wait ahead!

MissM94 · 14/05/2021 20:22

@MissC07 Thanks for the new thread! Love the intro 😆

MissC07 · 14/05/2021 21:02

I'd like to apologise for my horrendous grammar in the intro, it's you're not your!! 🙈

LauraT94 · 14/05/2021 21:04

@MissC07 that's a fab intro! Love it.

Thanks to everyone for their kind messages on the last thread and I'm sorry I didn't get around to replying on there! Don't think I missed any questions but feel free to ask again if I did haha!

Been a busy week and then ended with my 12 week scan today! Baby was perfect and measuring a day ahead. So I'm officially 13+1 with a due date of 18th November! ❤️

TheDaydreamBelievers · 14/05/2021 21:58

Welcome @Sunshinedaisybuttermellow

I'm bringing a glass of Bramble to this party.

@MrsHInch can I ask how you got put onto clomid? I clearly have an ovulation disorder and am not sure how to get clomid (or similar) prescribed

Kay00 · 14/05/2021 21:58

@laurat94 that's wonderful news 😊😊😊 please keep us updated xx

@mrsHinch wow!! Huge congrats on the weight loss, such an incredible achievement!! Hopefully you get pregnant naturally and really quickly this time x

@sunshinedaisybuttermellow welcome! I'm nearly a year off the pill and my cycles are all completely random lengths, and I have had 2 x anovulatory cycles too. My current cycle has been the best so far though 😌 ovulation on CD18 and a decent surge in progesterone!

MrsHInch · 14/05/2021 22:13

Thannks @Kay00 fingers crossed and positive vibes!! I do hope that it does come naturally as I'm 35 this year, so I could end up with complications elsewhere.

@TheDaydreamBelievers myself and my ExH had been trying for more than 2 years & I went to the gp for gyne referral. Blood tests, ultrasound scans and a hysterosalpingogram (tube test) confirmed my pcos diagnosis in December 15/January 16. I was then given clomid on the back of this diagnosis. 6 cycles took me the best part of 18 months to get through & it was the worst thing I've ever done. The bleeding was something else.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 14/05/2021 22:18

Thank you for replying @MrsHInch - I think this is the path I'm on (gp has referred to generic gynaecology)

Kat668 · 14/05/2021 22:18

@MissC07 thank you for the new thread, that is such an amazing intro I love it! I'll take a gander in with 1 of each cocktail (yes that means lots of cocktails🍸!)

@firsttimemummy321 I'm sorry for your losses. Glad they have referred you, keeping everything crossed for you x

@Kay00 Sending you a huge digital hug I hope you feel better soon 💗

@FlyingGiraffe have fun tonight! 😉😂

@Sunshinedaisybuttermellow welcome!! I'm only on my second cycle, took me 49 days to get my first bleed off off pill, so who knows what this cycle will look like 😂 fingers crossed yours come back to normality soon!

@MrsHInch wow congrats on the weight loss! That's amazing 😁 sending baby dust your way!

I'm CD13, my apl says ovulation will be Tuesday but that was based on a generic cycle length as I still don't know what mine will be like! We're DTD every other day all month so far ha ha. We shall see what happens! I'm going to my friends next weekend (permitting the government go ahead with allowing house visits!) to finally meet her second baby who is 6 months! I'm really looking forward to it but at the same time worried it's going to make me more volatile with this whole TTC malarkey 😂 also debating whether to tell her and my other BFF that we're TTC. So far only my mum knows. I've mentioned ages ago that we'd probably start trying around now and my friend is so keen for me to have a baby that I know she won't have forgotten! On the one hand I feel it would be lovely to have their support, especially the friend with the kids as she knows what it's like and took a year to conceive both, but on the other hand I worry about the pressure of more people knowing.

Kat668 · 14/05/2021 22:21

P.s. @MrsHInch that was meant to be a smiley face! 😀 not the weird gurning one ha ha

MintGreenLife · 14/05/2021 22:26

@TheDaydreamBelievers awh thanks so much for the shout out ☺️ I’m still checking back to see how you’re all getting on x

MrsHInch · 14/05/2021 22:27

Thanks @Kat668 xx baby dust all around!!

Tell your friends, I find that there's far too much hush hush when itt comes to baby making!

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 14/05/2021 22:42

@Kay00 hopefully this is a good sign of things to come for you with more regular cycles.

@Kat668 49 days sounds ages but I suppose is actually pretty short really

I didn't actually finish my pill packet, I only took 10 out of it before we decided not to wait any longer so I wonder if that will have an impact on the time until my withdrawal bleed as I won't have had the full month of hormones. My last withdrawal bleed started 30th April, so only 2 weeks ago. If I follow my usual pattern of starting to bleed 6 days of the pill I'm expecting my bleed to start around Monday but we shall see.

Cocktail wise I'll have a strawberry daiquiri please 🍸. And maybe a long island iced tea and a sex on the beach too if we're partying 🎉

AllyCat31 · 14/05/2021 22:53

Thanks for the new thread! Set to have a 39d cycle which will be the shortest one yet 🥳 almost “normal” 😂
