Here we are again... thread 19. Not sure if any of you ladies are here from thread 1. I think I've been around since about thread 5.

Any recaps on journey so far welcome...

Thanks @bez91. I hope your job move works out. I love my job, but hate the work pressure, and very much hope to find something else, too.

I just made it back. It was not great. The sac is there and in the right spot, but measures only 5+0 weeks. I told them about the lack of symptoms and the CB weeks thing, asking for HCG testing. They think that would be useless. They just think I ovulated a few days later than I thought (which would mean I had my first BFP around 6DPO, which sounds a bit unrealistic?)

Basically, I am positive this is going wrong, but they want me to come back in a week to check then. Today, I honestly can't see the silver lining in any of this.

Loulou237 · 16/07/2021 11:16

Hi @davidrosejumper I’m so sorry this is such a worrying time for you. I have heard so many stories of them being wildly out by 2 weeks etc for the first scan, to be perfectly honest I think sometimes it’s just too early to tell. Similarly I think the cb weeks indicator is ridiculous as the hormones vary so much in each woman and each pregnancy, I’ve heard of lots of people getting 2-3 when they are 8 weeks. What I’m trying to say (in a longwinded way) is don’t give up just yet. I know it’s easy to be so worried after a loss but it is also likely that everything is progressing fine as it’s still early days xxx

Loulou237 · 16/07/2021 11:17

Also I would push for a hormone blood test 2 days apart if worried! They should do that for you to put your mind to rest xxx

davidrosejumper · 16/07/2021 12:31

@Loulou237, thanks so much for your kind words. I have put in a request with my GP for some testing now. I hope to hear back from them. It just sucks. I so hoped this one would be the one to stick around and grow healthily.

Loulou237 · 16/07/2021 12:38

@davidrosejumper it might still be the one! Fingers crossed for you Xxx

bez91 · 16/07/2021 14:03

Oh @davidrosejumper I'm sorry it wasn't great news. Or rather inconclusive, the wait is awful I know 💕. Was it at a private clinic or NHS? Are you going back to the same place in 7 days? Look after yourself this weekend

OP posts:
davidrosejumper · 16/07/2021 16:20

@Loulou237, I got my HCG test referral from the GP, which is great, but now our hospital blood clinic only has its first blood test appointment available in two weeks from now (which is also annoyingly when I am away on holiday). I had hoped to do it sometime next week, in case the next scan would be inconclusive as well. I am now looking into going private. Thanks for your positivity, you are right, we need to keep hope.

@bez91, it was all NHS, where I will be back in 7 days from now. I will head over to our little nephew to be distracted by some proper toddler behaviour. I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead.

Thanks so much for both your support today, I hugely appreciate it!

susiebluebell · 16/07/2021 16:44

Sending hugs for you @davidrosejumper and following along though not got anything to add myself at the moment xx Stay hopeful

Beleeve · 16/07/2021 17:03

@davidrosejumper I'm sorry to hear this is happening, a day feels like a month when your in limbo like this. 2 weeks for a blood test though?! Surely not?! Can't your doctor take the bloods? Or have you got an Early Pregnancy Unit you can call (not sure if that's where you had your scan) but they generally get bloods done a lot quicker x

bez91 · 16/07/2021 20:10

That's really annoying with the bloods @davidrosejumper I've always been fortunate that my GP have had availability when needed for bloods although more down to luck. I'm not sure where you are in the country, I used CareFertilty for initial investigations and I would recommend however we should have in hindsight now there's been a third have just gone straight for the MC investigations. What I found good about the private clinic was everything is done at the same time you're not waiting for one result before having another etc. If you can afford I'd say go
for it. We're not quite at a stage for IVF so we've now been referred under NHS for recurrent miscarriage but the results we had privately will hopefully save some
time in the process. I hope you're ok and enjoy the distraction with your nephew x

@davidrosejumper was there a yolk sac too? If it helps, I had a vaginal USS at 5+4 and all they could see was a sac and yolk sac.. I thought the worst, went back 12 days later and was shocked that there was a 7+2 embryo there with a heart beat. It’s going to be the longest week for you, I hope you can keep busy. 🤞🏻 This is your little 🌈

elsimo · 17/07/2021 10:32

I have just been for my early scan and baby is looking good with a heartbeat 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 all continues well xx

davidrosejumper · 17/07/2021 11:01

@elsimo, fantastic news, Elsimo, what a relief!

@SLCxxx, thank so much for sharing that, that is really helpful. There was the beginning of a yolk sac, she said. Maybe not-yet-there embryo is a late bloomer like both its parents. I was never a fast starter.

@bez91, unfortunately, our GP has stopped doing all these things, which is really not great. I woke up this morning and felt better. Am now just thinking, what will be will be. So I am just going to wait what happens next Thursday. I looked up Care Fertility after your suggestion, which I was unfamiliar with. If/when this one goes wrong, and NHS does not want to do anything, I will see if I can do things through them. I really want to be a parent one day and am already 37, so both of us are comfortable to put some money towards it.

elsimo · 17/07/2021 12:32

Honestly I really hope people can take some hope from my story! I never ever thought I would get here xx

SLCxxx · 17/07/2021 14:12

@elsimo very good to hear, are you now further along than you was with your loss?

@bez91GPs seem to make up their own rules to suit them! Hope your okay 💜

elsimo · 17/07/2021 18:46

@SLCxxx emm I guess so. My first loss I started bleeding at 7 weeks and baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. My second loss I started bleeding at 9 weeks and the babies had stopped around 5-6 weeks ish (one was more developed than the other)
I put myself @ 7+1 but was measuring at 7+4 today so I guess thats a good sign as well.
It took me 18 months to conceive my 2nd miscarriage and 7 months after the miscarriage to conceive this time so its been quite the journey xx

SLCxxx · 18/07/2021 09:20

@elsimo sorry for your losses. It took us 14months to conceive our MC, started bleeding just shy of 10weeks but baby stopped growing at 6wks, it then took 5months to conceive this time and I am 5 days in front of you I think, 8+3 today. The 12 week scan feels like forever away, don’t know how I’m going to wait another 3-4weeks. You won’t be able to relax and enjoy the pregnancy just yet but I hope your starting to feel abit more positive xx

Twinkles18 · 18/07/2021 11:11

Hey ladies! Anyone on 11dpo and not tested yet? I'm trying to hold off until missed AF - Flo app tells me it's due on 22nd but Natural Cycles is telling me I'm due on 25th so I'm torn on when to test 😂
Felt so nauseous this morning like waves of sickness that kept coming and iv never experienced that before so fingerscrossed that's not a bad sign ❤ baby dust to us all xx

bubblybrit · 18/07/2021 15:08

@Twinkles18. Yes I’m also 11dpo but I won’t be testing until AF is due. I’ve tested early in previous cycles and when I got a BFN I blamed it on the fact that I tested early and convinced myself that I could still be pregnant. Made the arrival of AF even worse. Fingers crossed the nausea is a good sign for you. Good luck when you do decide to test (I’ll be holding off until next weekend as AF will be well and truly late by then) xx

Twinkles18 · 18/07/2021 21:10

@bubblybrit I'm the same!! I actually think that if I test early and get a BFN it's because I haven't been patient and if I hadve waited until AF was late i would've had a BFP..think I'm starting to lose the plot 😂😂
Going to try hold off to Sat/Sun to test! Fingers crossed for us both 💕 xx

bez91 · 18/07/2021 21:14

So happy for you @elsimo seems like I've been on this thread forever with you so I'm so pleased to see your good news!

@bubblybrit waiting it out is the best option if you can do it. I'll be doing the same 😊

bubblybrit · 18/07/2021 21:25

@Twinkles18. I took a break from TTC as I felt that it was completely consuming me. I still use opks but I’ve stopped symptom spotting and being a poas addict....especially since I was almost testing daily from 10dpo!

@bez91. When are you due to test? I’m definitely holding out this month. Not feeling overly confident but we will see.

Elsie2021 · 18/07/2021 22:21

Can I join please? 🙂

Second cycle TTC after a missed miscarriage discovered at our 12 week scan. Baby had stopped growing at 11 weeks. It’s been a long road since then with retained product, eight weeks of bleeding, and ten weeks to a negative test and AF.

We were unsuccessful last month, our first month of trying since, so now on cycle two.

Any recaps of people’s stories would be great? 🙂

bez91 · 19/07/2021 07:11

@bubblybrit not for some time, I'm only CD15 but AF being due is a couple of days before a big party we're going to so hoping that motivates me to test on that morning if AF doesn't arrive before hand as to make the call on if I'll be taking gin with me 😆 is it Saturday you'll test if AF not arrived?

Welcome @Elsie2021 sorry you find yourself here 💕. I know it can be such a long road after a MMC, glad that is over for you, how long have you been trying in total?
Recap from me, TTC #2 for around 14 months. MC in September and MMC in December with surgical intervention. Had a CP last month. I've now been referred to the recurrent MC clinic. All other 'fertility' tests have been relatively normal

Twinkles18 · 19/07/2021 09:43

Welcome @elsie2021 sorry for your loss 🤍
For a recap, I had a mmc at end of January only discovered at our booking scan..we had a blighted ovum. I was very much like you with 9 weeks of bleeding although when bleeding stopped i got a negative HCG test. That pregnancy was a pleasant surprise as we weren't trying but not preventing..after that I have been using OPKs and clearblue fertility monitor the past month too for extra reassurance that I'm not missing any important days😅

We're now on cycle 4 of TTC#1 (really only cycle 3 as the first one didn't count as I prob didn't ovulate between miscarriage and first period a week later). Due to test this weekend and have everything crossed this month 🤍

Good luck and hope all goes well for you 💫💕
