Here we are again... thread 19. Not sure if any of you ladies are here from thread 1. I think I've been around since about thread 5.

@elsimo, wow, that is fantastic, and such a strong line! Fingers crossed for a better outcome for you this time around!

@bez91, yes, my AF should be next week Saturday too, so similarly looking for around the time of Wednesday or Thursday to test.

Fern346 · 24/06/2021 19:45

@elsimo congratulations!! Wonderful news 💕 lovely to hear positive stories x

Lollipop25 · 24/06/2021 21:24

Congrats @elsimo 👏👏 you've waited long enough🤗

bez91 · 25/06/2021 07:50

@davidrosejumper oooh cycle buddies. I'm fully expecting a BFN to be honest. Been having cramps and twinges which gets my hopes up every time but never amounts to anything 😆 hoping for you!

Hi Ladies. Sorry I haven’t written the last few days we get our results on Monday to see what caused the loss. So I’ve been anxious.

@Fern346 my experience was different as I had to deliver but and I didn’t track ovulation straight after the loss I just waited for my first period which took 7.5 weeks but I was 17 weeks pregnant. I know everyone is different though. Also I’m sorry to ask again but was the volume of your husbands sperm compromised too? Did that decrease? I’m so paranoid about this Covid now. I know I’ve only tried twice but it’s playing on my mind hugely. I’m on google everyday and it’s not healthy 😢

bez91 · 27/06/2021 18:51

Hi @LauraLivs1986 I hope you get out of tomorrow what you want to 💕

Thank you @bez91 I’m feeling very anxious this evening. 💔 I’m sorry you find yourself on this rollercoaster journey always and I hope and pray we all get there in the end 🌈 seeing people’s positives on here gives me hope.

Ps. Had to change my username!

Fern346 · 28/06/2021 16:51

@LauraLivs1986 so sorry to hear about your loss, that must have been incredibly hard, I can’t imagine. In terms of DH SA, his volume actually wasn’t that bad, it was the quality, DNA fragmentation and motility that had suffered, but he was also a smoker which will have had an effect too.
It has gone back to normal levels now, and I got pregnant as soon as they had so I’m hoping it won’t be as long a wait this time.
Our Consultant asked us to try for 6 months after getting the good results (before thinking about IVF) but unbeknownst to me I was actually already pregnant when he said that!
I think 6 months is a good time to try before seeking investigations, they can be really stressful and make you go a bit crazy with worry so I wouldn’t advise it unless absolutely necessary. We were also seeing a private consultant, the NHS won’t do any tests after 2 months.

I finally got my negative test a few days ago, so going to start trying again 🤞🏻😊

bez91 · 28/06/2021 20:00

@Fern346 that's good on the negative result, horrible wishing it on though! What's the next steps for you, are you TTC naturally for a few more cycles before considering IVF again? We had private initial fertility investigations last month (TTC 14 months, 2 MCs, already have one DD) and showed no issues as such, offered to do more investigations for a cost (genetics etc) but we're going to try naturally for another 6-12 months and see what happens

Fern346 · 28/06/2021 20:22

@bez91 I know - it’s mad feeling so happy about getting a BFN!
Think we will try naturally for a bit. Our consultant says our chances of natural conception should be just the same as IVF, I think (hopefully) we have just been unlucky with the miscarriage. Think we will try for 6 months and then maybe look at IVF if nothing has happened, though I imagine we would need to go private as not sure we would qualify on the NHS due to us getting pregnant once before.

I think you can drive yourself a bit mad with tests. I spoke to two women who’s husbands had DNA fragmentation tests after a miscarriage (poor Dna fragmentation has a high risk of causing miscarriage) and their results were terrible, but they didn’t have a further miscarriage and managed to have two healthy babies so sometimes it really is just luck of the drawer. I really hope this is the case @bez91 and your luck is about to change 🤞🏻
The tests are also so expensive! Like the price of a nice weekend away. X

bez91 · 28/06/2021 21:54

@Fern346 every NHS trust differs but generally if you have no living children you qualify. There's other factors such as BMI, how many rounds they will fund etc. That's interesting re the DNA fragment testing. It's frustrating as generally MC is seems as a woman's issue, the private clinic enabled us to have all the initial tests done at the same time whereas on the NHS the SA seems to be the last thing they do at our local trust 🤦🏼‍♀️ but yes so so expensive.
Thank you, you too 💕
AF due Saturday, felt sick last couple of days and was sick tonight so DH made me take a test - BFN. Still early but unlikely, these symptoms are sent to frustrate us!

Sorry ladies, dropped my phone down the loo, finally have myself sorted again! Hope everyone’s well!

Omg congratulations @elsimo 🌈 👏🏻 So pleased for you.

I’m 5wks and pulling every symptom apart, woke up today and my boobs aren’t really sore so then my head starts thinking the worst! I didn’t really how scary Pregnancy after a loss is. My fingers are crossed all you lovely ladies get your BFPs really soon

@Marvellouslymadmum did AF show up?

@bez91 where are you in your cycle?

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/06/2021 07:28

@SLCxxx oh no nightmare! Yes af showed for me at last and I'm finally onto the next cycle woohoo!

re6ecca · 29/06/2021 21:35

Hey, I literally drop in on this thread about 4 times a year but unfortunately I had my 4th miscarriage in March at just over 8 weeks. Hope everyone is doing well, glad to see its mostly new people now as I assume that means most of the previous people had their rainbows bynnow! I first joined this thread in feb 2020 so crazy to see how its changed. New people im so sorry for your losses.

bez91 · 29/06/2021 21:47

@SLCxxx oh no! Still peeing on a stick wasn't to blame for the phone in the loo was it 😆 it is I get it it's very scary. Have you self referred to your midwife team yet? There's a book called Pregnancy After Loss on Amazon that's been recommended to me a few times, I've not bought it but probably will if I get a positive test ever. Supposed to be good to get you through the days and coping with your thoughts. Coming towards end of my cycle, I'm CD29 and AF due Saturday.

Hi @re6ecca sorry you find yourself here again 💕. I've been around since about last September, it sounds like you've had a really tough journey . Have you had any investigations into your MCs?

OP posts:
re6ecca · 29/06/2021 22:19

Hi @bez91 i know, as much as its nice to catch up with this thread we really hoped our March pregnancy was the rainbow. I'm currently at the beginning of RPL investigations, I've had a bunch of bloods and a couple of scans and my next appointment with the specialist is end of July. Praying that they find something fixable, think it will be 100x worse if they don't find a cause. Currently in my TWW though & hoping for a miracle

elsimo · 29/06/2021 22:29

Thanks for the kind congrats guys. I’m knackered and having the most mental dreams. Boobs a bit sore but thats about it.
Trying to be positive/hopeful but also realistic. I have a private scan booked for 24th July.
@bez91 I had that sickness thing really bad before my period. Its horrible.

susiebluebell · 29/06/2021 22:34

Hi again @re6ecca I remember you. So sorry to read about another loss. It's almost a year since my MC and nothing yet.

Wishing you all the best and good strength xx

re6ecca · 29/06/2021 22:37

Hey @susiebluebell I remember you too ❤ sorry that you haven't had your BFP yet :( seems a lot have

davidrosejumper · 29/06/2021 22:55

Hi @re6ecca, one of the newbies here. Sorry you didn't get your happy ending yet, and are back on the TTC carousel.

It is good you are getting tested now. I hope you will get some answers, and the next time things will work out better for you.

re6ecca · 29/06/2021 23:48

Hey @davidrosejumper again me too. I wish I'd had my rainbow! Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who hasn't had one yet! Unfortunately my risk for miscarriage is now very high after so many losses! Fingers crossed it one day happens for me

Wishingfornumber2 · 30/06/2021 07:49

@re6ecca I just wanted to jump on and say hi 👋. I remember you too. Still waiting for my rainbow since October 2018 with no hint of a bfp since. Currently in the middle of 3 cycles of blood tests to check I’m ovulating. I was supposed to have a review with dr at local hospital in August but that has been pushed back to December now for some reason which is frustrating. I’m so sorry to hear you have had a 4th mc. Sending big hugs to you and hope you do get some answers soon ❤️.

Fern346 · 30/06/2021 08:17

Hi @re6ecca, so so sorry that you’ve had another loss, I can’t imagine how you must be feeling - hopefully you get some answers soon though it is ridiculous you have to go through so much before being able to have investigations. Women really do have it so tough.

My big news is that I have tested positive.. for Covid! Feeling absolutely shocking, and now terrified DH will get it and his sperm will suffer again. I’m also at my parents with my sister and nephew so we all have to isolate together for ten days. Not sure there will be much more BDs for me and DH as I have a fever of 38.8c!

re6ecca · 30/06/2021 09:01

Hey @Wishingfornumber2 sorry to hear that you haven't had your rainbow yet :( testing can be so frustrating! I've been waiting for my second appointment since May and its not until next month! They are really really slow.

susiebluebell · 30/06/2021 14:27

For the ladies who are having trouble ovulating, can I suggest looking into cutting out sugar? It makes for fascinating (and scary!) reading when you find out how much sugar plays with insulin and other hormones that can suppress ovulation.

I've recently been easing into a new way of eating with much less sugar, white carbs and dairy due to PCOS. As part of the process, I've learnt so much about hormones and the extent diet affects them. I'm definitely not fully on board, but the sugar thing was a revelation.
