Soy Isoflavones..yay or nay?

Been doing some research on soy isoflavones & I didn't know what people's opinions are?

I have a 35 day cycle, ovulate between CD17-21 - currently 7th month in of TTC after 1 early loss at 5 week in October.

Do people have any experience with taking them? I read the following on an old thread here about with CD to take them..

My concerns are; I have little/none EWCM (have conceive plus lube) but I get positive OPK every month (temping just stressed me out which I decided would do more harm?!) and I'm sure soy iso is to help ovulate? But now I've read the below, it looks as though it can help the egg. I'm cautious about messing up my cycle so was just looking to hear other people's experience.

Here's the info I've read here (have lots more saved in my notes if people want to see about the dose etc if interest) :)

Thank you x

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you ❤️ I'm still sending you high temp vibes 🤞🏼

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yes I'd love to stay in the new thread too!

@Slk3558 i think I take the least amount of supplements out of most of us here, I just take pregnacare conception so will finish that pack off and begin the pregnacare pregnancy one as well as my daily probiotic. I know what you mean about being anxious to stop one just in case. Do what you feel is right but try not to overthink it too much.

I took another test this morning and there's really good progress, I still can't believe it. I'm feeling really calm and relaxed for some reason 🤗

@Slk3558 symptoms come and go in pregnancy so I wouldn't worry too much, someone said before you can't change the outcome of what will happen, it's a very good way to thing about it.

@choccrumpet that looks great! So pleased for you all - does that mean it's my turn next? 😂

Thank you, according to one app I'm officially 1dpo so as long as the temp stays this time I'm all good! It's right up at the top of where it should be too

choccrumpet · 11/06/2021 08:52

@Slk3558 I've heard symptoms can come and go, don't panic too much. There's not a lot you can do to change the outcome sadly, you're good for now, cramping is normal.

This might sound silly to you but it has helped me when ttcing. These are some positive pregnancy affirmations, pick 1 or 2 (or google other ones) and if you're feeling anxious, say them to yourself in your head, write them down where you can see them throughout the day. They might help you feel a little less anxious and little more positive. I had 2 I used when ttcing and I'm going to find 2 new ones about early pregnancy.

@Marvellouslymadmum thank you, 🤞🏼 for you!!! And amazing news about your temps, hopefully this is it for you! That sounds really positive. You might be able to take a break from dtd now 😅

Slk3558 · 11/06/2021 09:37

Thanks for reassurance @Marvellouslymadmum really hope it’s your turn next !!

@choccrumpet thanks for that, I have just done those affirmations and I do feel a little better. Your line progression is brilliant such a strong line. Congratulations!!

My DH normally think I’m crazy for obsessing testing but he’s just told me to go and do a test and get my headache out the way 😂

Twiggywinkle13 · 07/09/2021 14:35

Hello all!

I did get pregnant in July but sadly it ended in a chemical. Fingers crossed for this month! ❤️

boymamax · 27/08/2022 23:46

I know this is an old thread I started over 12 months ago now, just came across and hope everyone's okay and got their BFP's 🤞🏻

NewMomma21 · 11/12/2022 16:00

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I have a question for those of you who took SI. I am hoping to start this cycle but the only supplement I can find is 750mg from Holland and Barrett. This is obviously significantly higher than the recommended dosage. Did anyone take the H&B supplement and could you advise on the dosage? Many thanks indeed for any help or guidance

Clocloxx · 06/01/2023 08:06

Hey did anyone find Soy Isoflavones help them get pregnant?

Clocloxx · 06/01/2023 08:07

@NewMomma21 I've been looking at them too! All I can find is 1500mg 🙄 did you start them?

NewMomma21 · 06/01/2023 21:13

Hi! I couldn’t find any definitive information so I didn’t start them because without knowing the dosage I didn’t want to risk messing up my cycle!

Clocloxx · 07/01/2023 10:47

I found 100mg

www.healthspan.ie/all-departments/womens-health/soy-isoflavones-120-tablets/?shoppingfeed&gclid=Cj0KCQiAzeSdBhC4ARIsACj36uEn4EaMOBgm9wqeh-i6rB8ahqJN-D7od8_n1zziKey2jDC3tRMrCM0aAhXPEALw_wcB

Your ment to take them like clomid a 5 day course on day 2 of your period, start off with a low mg dose then up it to 200mg max for last day or 2.
I'm gonna give it a go on my next cycle been ttc for a year now 🤞🤞
