Really fed up of AF showing up month after month now 🤦🏼‍♀️ we've been taking the see what happens but dtd lots approach. But now going into month 7 so We've decided to use the clear blue opk's to see if it gives us a better chance. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Now to just wait for AF to disappear 😀

Any one else ttc #1? 😀

@AZ1992X what a spanner!!! I mean for my work I was around covid positive folk and never once had a positive covid test and I've always broached it as if I get it I get it but if I don't then I've probably had it. Depends on your general health. I think if you've had at least 1 vaccine and or are generally healthy then I wouldn't worry about getting it. How is dh doing? I wouldn't want to miss a cycle either as have missed due to work or mmr vaccine and it is horrible. My preference would be if dh and you are healthy, positive or not then I would avoid seeing others and isolate together and have lots of bding!

@Amy259 that is a strong friend! I am happy to speak about what I would go through if I did mc but it is everyone else around me. Like family would be so sad but some would also be like well at least you know nwo you can get pregnant and you'll have a successful one next time. I'd just be like f off and just let me feel how I want to feel and don't tell me how.

Amy259 · 20/08/2021 09:44

@AZ1992X if you’re double jabbed with a negative test does that mean you don’t need to isolate? I guess it’s about weighing up worrying about Covid/long Covid, your work’s stance on it (whether or not you have to isolate anyway, or if it would be a total nightmare for you to be off for 10+ days).

The other thing to think about is that I had a colleague whose wife’s work policy was still stay home if a household member has it. He caught Covid and she had to do the 10 days isolation but they tried to keep apart, then on day 8 she tested positive anyway so in total had to do 18 days! So if you’re already isolating now based on work rules, I’d say mixing with him and testing positive sooner is better than deciding to crack on and dtd on day 6/7 then testing positive in 9ish days time and having to go through it all again? Or commit to staying fully separate until he tests negative.

The rules are different all over the place now and in different work places, so just weigh it all up I guess. And what feels right for you too. It seems mad he would test positive and you wont, given it’s supposed to take 2 days to show in a test and I assume you were in close contact in that time! So you never know, the situation could be different by the time it’s crunch time!

AZ1992X · 20/08/2021 09:58

Thanks both!

He’s feeling ok generally- flu like symptoms at the minute. Hopefully it stays like that and doesn’t get any worse.

Yes, that’s right - technically I don’t need to isolate as I’m double jabbed. I still find it so strange how I haven’t got it and he has seen as we share the same bed/contact. Very odd - we did have different vaccines and wonder if that’s played any part - maybe one is better at preventing- who knows 🤷‍♀️

My work situation is ok as I’m working remotely mostly so don’t need to worry about that. I think I’m just going to see how it plans out - don’t want to miss this cycle so will see what it’s like in a few days.

Amy259 · 20/08/2021 14:10

@AZ1992X good plan - just play it by ear as things play out.

I had two unexpected updates in the space of 2 minutes today.

So firstly GCRM called and offered me a hycosy for £500 this coming Wednesday.. need to decide by the end of today.

Then just as I got off the phone I got a letter through from the NHS saying I have a phone consult on 29th September. I’m not sure what the wait will then be for a normal scan after that, which they do before they would do HSG/hycosy. Didn’t expect to hear from them so quickly given what they said on the phone!

Not sure what I’m going to do yet. @Loops01 when is your phone consult?

Loops01 · 20/08/2021 17:46

@Amy259 that's great re Sept!! Ours is next week. I know that a guy from my work had his in July and they have booked scans and bloods but not sure when/how long and what types. I mean if you have £500 then I don't see why not. Like it might flush you out. It might show that there's no issues or that there are and you'd be able to tell NHS that or get something quicker than what you would NHS wise. I guess it means you won't need to have the NHS one either and they should accept your private one and you might get something else quicker?

Sorry I'm not sure. Depends how long you want to wait and if you have any financial issues. In my eyes if I had £500 that wasn't going to hurt the budget then I would do it! You could tell NHS the results in the consultation. I plan on doing that re scans.

@AZ1992X think your decision is good! And glad to hear that dh isn't too badly affected. I've heard it effects men more 😉 man flu 😉 haha. Keep us posted!

Amy259 · 20/08/2021 19:10

@Loops01 the consultant did make the comment about flushing me out.. I’m a bit nervous about telling the NHS I had it privately, I’ve heard some horror stories about telling them you’ve had private help. But if anything it would surely be a good thing that they didn’t have to waste a scan slot on me? Who knows…

I booked it, so I guess we’ll see what happens on Wednesday!

AZ1992X · 20/08/2021 19:18

@Amy259 Glad to hear you’ve got an appointment for September - hopefully it won’t feel too long away for you & Keep us posted on how you get on Wednesday. Hope all goes well

AZ1992X · 22/08/2021 14:58

Hi everyone! How’s everyone doing?

I’ve caved in and decided to do opks this cycle - I had plenty left over and I know I would be stressing this cycle as will probably start dtd slightly later than I normally would so will allow me to not miss it.

Loops01 · 22/08/2021 15:40

@AZ1992X makes sense when you're still not sure of your cycles! No harm! Im the same cd and it's showing as 0.2 but think I've got another few days before fw but app says it's from tomo I think.

@Amy259 I'm already looking forward to hearing how wed goes. Where in your cycle will it be! I have heard it can be painful in the uncomfortable way but no pain no gain!

AZ1992X · 22/08/2021 15:51

Yup, I think I’d feel more stressed not knowing this cycle. Mine was similar too just over 0.2 , I think my fertility window starts around Wednesday.

I think if I don’t get a positive in the next few cycles I may look into scans too as that’s the only thing I can do if my next bloods come back fine.

Amy259 · 22/08/2021 16:42

@AZ1992X best to do whatever will stress you least, for sure! I now have zero OPKs and zero hcg tests in the house - I’m hoping to keep it that way but who knows haha.

@Loops01 they used water and a balloon to dilate my cervix and root around for the coil so I’m thinking it’ll be similar to that. I’m not overly worried about the pain, mainly because it’s for a good reason - I’m not overly precious so hopefully it’ll be grand, but I guess you never know! I imagine there will be a bit of spotting after it, hopefully not for too long as we go away for two weeks the next morning.

It has to be done between days 3-10 to ensure you’re not pregnant, so it’ll be day 4/5 for me (af came at 9pm last night, unusually, so I think today is counted as CD1 but it’s like CD1.5 haha).

Loops01 · 22/08/2021 16:49

@Amy259 haha I hate when that happens! I still count it as cd1 but don't think it's a big deal really. AF for me has recently been afternoon bound which is not ideal but at least I'm prepared now I know I'm defo 10dpo before it's arrival!

I wish I didn't have hcg tests! I ordered the test box that came with the hcg tests. I've got more hcg than opks I think!! I have found it satisfying not testing. So I went 18 days without opk testing. And now I'm doing once a day atm then will do twice when I'm closer to peak but then stop after that. Premom told me today I'm on the 6th cycle with them. It was quite heartbreaking as didn't realise it was that long. Urg. Oh well!

At least you're prepared for the no pain no gain ☺

Amy259 · 22/08/2021 17:00

@Loops01 I’ll probably end up ordering hcg tests nearer to the end of the cycle - we have a wedding when I’m due to be around 11dpo.

I love not testing because it made me realise I really don’t need to - which is also absolutely infuriating! 😂 it’s like.. my cycles are always 30/31 days, I always ovulate CD16-18, I always get ewcm, I always get a temp spike the morning of 3dpo so I know I always ovulate, always 14 day LP, DH’s sperm are grand, my lining is dreamy, whyyyyy are we not pregnant?! 😂

But I’m glad I’ve already had a cycle of not tracking so I know it’s okay, means I don’t need to worry about finding spots to opk on holiday!

Loops01 · 22/08/2021 17:18

@Amy259 I know. I'm with you there. There's no reason for not getting pregnant. It is very annoying. I'm science minded/background before this job and it annoys me so much because its so simple but it's not too. The only thing that could be wrong is some sort of hormones but then the majority is fine. Or it could be genetics. God knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'd probably not order and only get a shop one to prove that you aren't (if you're going somewhere you want to drink etc) or only order if you're late. Most shops have basic ones at least! I can send you someone mine if your are desperate!! Haha.

Amy259 · 22/08/2021 17:50

@Loops01 same - I’m all science, it’s so frustrating that it’s just not working. There’s also the tiniest possibility of simple genetic incompatibility but I try hard not to think about that one 😂 the gynae who did my last scan said “it’s just not been the right time yet” I was like oh please don’t 😂.

If it was hormones, you’d know - something else would be off. Every single sex hormone shows itself in SOME way, so if you’re clinically fine in every aspect, it won’t be hormonal. It could of course be the men! Just because their SAs are fine, that tells us nothing about fragmentation…

OR we could all be totally fine and it’s just taking bloody ages!

The drug addict I told you about who lives near us had her baby this week - he’s 2lbs. She gets funded taxis to the hospital 4 times a day to feed him apparently. She told my neighbour all of this when she was in the pub drinking between hospital visits… give me strength. And that poor baby 💔

Loops01 · 22/08/2021 18:35

@Amy259 I was just thinking I'm pretty sure that girl wouldn't be full term. It is ridiculous isn't it. I'm surrounded by them in work. Honestly I don't know why I work. So many people earn more than me from benefits. It drives me crazy. I compare those with both sides of the grass is greener. I swear the sun just doesn't shine on my patch 😂.

Amy259 · 24/08/2021 11:00

@AZ1992X how are you and DH doing? Hope he’s not feeling too rough - did you ever test positive?

AZ1992X · 24/08/2021 13:35

Hey @Amy259 , he’s doing ok thanks - hasn’t got any worse just flu like. He’s still testing positive at the minute and I’m still negative.

CD13 now and low opks - I’ve said we’re probably going to start dtd soon as may miss it but wanted to try and hold off a bit. It says my window starts tomorrow.

How are you doing?

Amy259 · 25/08/2021 17:34

Sorry for the delay @AZ1992X it’s been a bit manic here.

DH has been pinged as a close contact so our delayed honeymoon/anniversary holiday is now cancelled whilst he isolates 😭💔 testing negative and no symptoms but locked away in a spare room because I had my hycosy today (rules now mean the whole house doesn’t need to isolate if one is a close contact of someone, if there’s no symptoms etc). He’s got a PCR booked for the morning but travelling is out of the question. You can imagine how much I’ve sobbed!

Luckily I was still allowed to go to my hycosy - I still did a lateral flow before I left the house and they do your temp etc there. It was absolutely agony if I’m honest, but it was because my right tube is wider than it should be at the ovary end so she had to push extra dye in to see it all flow over, to show it wasn’t blocked. Said it doesn’t decrease my fertility but it is a physiological abnormality, so she can’t rule out that sometimes when I ovulate from the right the egg might not make it down the tube. She said loads of women have issues with one tube and wouldn’t have a clue, and it’s not blocked or anything so she wasn’t concerned - but it gave me a lot of extra pain!

How are you doing? DTD starting today? My friend’s partner has Covid and he has started testing negative now on day, so hopefully that’s not too far away for DH?

@Loops01 how are you getting on? You’re ahead of us, aren’t you? So near ovulation I’m guessing?

AZ1992X · 25/08/2021 18:10

@Amy259 oh I’m so sorry to hear that, you must be heartbroken you couldn’t go 💔 - make sure you treat yourself to something nice (takeaway/chocolate etc) , are you able to reschedule at all?

I hope he’s ok and fingers crossed that his PCR will come back negative.

I’m glad you was able to go, that does sound painful though - I bet you’re glad it’s over with!

All good hear, yes we started dtd from today. What day was they? He’s still positive on day 7 now but said he’s feeling bit better today so hopefully not long to go.

Amy259 · 25/08/2021 18:16

@AZ1992X sorry I forgot the 8! Was the morning of day 8 he started testing negative. They’ve kept apart though so she’s still negative too. I’m glad DH is feeling better and managed to dtd 😂

I’m not sure what I’ll do if he is positive… whether we’ll stay apart or not. If he’s positive we both need to isolate for 10 days, so if I caught it and tested positive on day 5 or 6 that would start all over again! So I think I’d be tempted to just stay apart..

We’re hopefully rearranging it for mid-late September, fingers crossed!

AZ1992X · 25/08/2021 18:50

@Amy259 ah that’s good to know , hopefully not long left till he’s negative.

It’s a difficult decision ain’t it - like you said prev depends what’s best for you and your situation I.e work etc…

That would be good if you could! 🤞

AZ1992X · 26/08/2021 17:21

@Amy259 you was right , he tested negative today!

Loops01 · 26/08/2021 17:53

Sounds like both of your lives have been very hectic! I'm cd15 and opks starting to rise but it'll be a few days still I think. Working hard. Asked for a change of role so dh and I might be able to see each other more than 3 days off a month but we will see. Stressful trying to plan 2022/2023 annual leave when I'm waiting to move as it doesn't follow us so chance of not getting the same annual leave which would he really crap. My mum thinks I'll be preg in Sept. My aunty thinks Oct. I'm still like meh doubt it all. Video call tomo so will update then. At work and dealing with kiddy stuff atm but just have to shrug it off.

Sorry to hear of the pain @Amy259 but then it also sounds like it's not that bad of an abnormality. I read the right ovary releases more but you still seem healthy and yeah likely loads of folk have other abnormalities so I wouldn't worry too much about it and I think you still have a good chance!

Amy259 · 26/08/2021 21:08

@AZ1992X woohoo! Great news - hopefully that means you’ve managed to avoid it! Is he feeling much better now?

@Loops01 that’s great that you’ve been able to ask for a change of role and hopefully you’ll actually see more of each other now. Do you have to plan your annual leave that far in advance?! That’s so intense. Yeah hopefully the abnormality on that side doesn’t stop us from conceiving naturally, she didn’t seem worried at all and I’m stopping myself from googling it 😂

My PCR is negative, DH doesn’t have his back yet but his lateral flow is positive now 💔 so looks like we’ve got a full 10 days of isolation ahead! Apparently day of contact is day 0 meaning today is day 2, so next Saturday we’ll get released haha. Brutal!
