@HereIfYouNeedMe Yeah we will, we’ll tell close family first then we have a virtual quiz with friends on Saturday so we’ll tell them then ☺️

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 That’s shocking treatment! Unfortunately there is an increased risk but there’s plenty of us on here who have got pregnant successfully after our ectopic ☺️ It definitely is scary though!

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 19:26

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 that's so insensitive and thoughtless! It's actually life threatening not to mention the mental trauma of 'what could have been' taken away! I've worked through treatment and just try to get on with it but it's actually been exhausting and it's on your mind all of the time! Very disappointing of them. I'm glad your ready-to-drop friend is understanding but I can imagine you don't want to turn to her too much right now.
You have us though and I can't wait to see if this is your month 🤞🏼

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 19:28

@NigellasMicrowave thank you!!
I haven't spoken to my GP since I was diagnosed so might be good to check in with them. Sorry it's painful! Must be a relief to be getting back on track though? X

So exciting 🤭 privileged to know!! Hehe

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 02/02/2021 19:41

Thank you all for being so welcoming 🥰 yes i definitely felt like I have had my head in a blender for the last couple of weeks... I was told to wait one cycle as I didn’t have any medical intervention and my body naturally cleared it but I think I will wait 2 cycles any tips for these ovulation sticks I got the clear blue ones??? It’s crazy my hospital said I could start straight away I was like after 12 days past ectopic and they were like yeah you have no hcg in your body so go for it but I am going to wait though x

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 02/02/2021 19:43

Edit... sorry doctor said to wait one month so they can get my period dates but the hospital said straight away.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 20:53

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 probably better for your piece of mind to wait a little then 😊 no idea on the sticks sorry, never tracked fertility but one of the other lovely ladies can help!

Ivybutterfly · 02/02/2021 21:11

Congratulations @Sammyclaire22 that is wonderful news.

@Mumlili9 I am so sorry to hear that. Sending thoughts and prayers.

@Peachee congratulations!

Hello and much love to all others on this thread.

I am huge now. I think I forgot to mention that we are having a little boy. Very exciting! Xx

Mumlili9 · 02/02/2021 21:23

Hello ladies

Had an appointment with my fertility doctor today. He says I'm very unlikely to fall pregnant naturally and my only option would be IVF. The NHS will not consider me because of my age so we're done. I cant afford to pay private and also my husband is catholic so he's against it. Devastated is an under statement.

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2021 22:14

@Mumlili9 That is absolutely heartbreaking. I am so, so sorry. Be gentle with yourself xx

Rach2021 · 03/02/2021 04:01

Thankyou Smile

I've read through the thread and I think you're all very brave ladies, I am literally petrified to TTC for a repeat Ectopic.

Seems being treated poorly in hosp for this is also a running theme. If it makes anyone else feel better a&e argued with m
E that it was my appendix whilst I was telling them I knew it was ectopic and something was horribly wrong even after bloods confirmed pregnant they sent me home for 16hrs before a scan (could have died) and then the consultant on my post op appointment insinuated I had a history of STDs and that protected sex would stop this happening (I have never had an std in my entire 30yrs) the cheek of it lol.

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 03/02/2021 09:05

Morning ladies hope you’re all feeling well can I ask I was told I would see AF in 4-6 weeks time but I really feel like it’s going to show up today or even tomorrow I have the horrible dull ache.. Would this be classed as my first period ?? I have no hcg in my system as my last blood test was negative for it.. thanks xx

Sammyclaire22 · 03/02/2021 09:20

Oh @Mumlili9 I'm so sorry to hear your news, how are you this morning?
Have you and your husband actually discussed ivf? Is it a certain no?
Wish I could give you a big hug xx

DoctorBambino · 03/02/2021 10:16

@mumlili9 I'm so so sad to hear your news, you've been through so much. It is so unfair that the NHS have these cut offs for age 😔 big big hugs for you 🤍

@Ivybutterfly - wonderful news 🌈💙 I think my OH would love a boy but I really don't mind so long as the bean settles in the right place !

Luan82 · 03/02/2021 14:22

@Rach2021 - omg that's terrible, they really should be trained in how to deal with this type of situation I've heard some real horror stories thankful that the nurses at my EPU were lovely as I didn't have anyone else there to support me

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 so sorry to hear about your loss, I tend to use the cheap Amazon opk's from about day 13 of my cycle ( when I start to get CM) up until the line is dark then use a clear blue to confirm it's at its peak as I find this is a bit cheaper !! The first bleed after treatment or expectation management is the pregnancy leaving the body I think and bit like a withdrawal bleed when you come off the pill then the bleed after that is your official period - my periods went back to normal pretty quickly so hopefully you will be the same esp as the numbers are low x

Luan82 · 03/02/2021 14:30

@Mumlili9 💔- I feel this so much, am so so sorry to hear what you're going through it's the absolute worst, I've just had my amh results come back low and I know that this means I won't qualify for IVF when I hit forty, so completely unfair given that my referral has taken 10 months to get to this point and the surgery has been cancelled for the foreseeable thanks to covid. Feel completely helpless. Feel free to send me a private message and I'd be happy to talk to you about certain things ive been doing via self care to help to conceive naturally I've managed to bring up my progesterone level and am currently trying to clear my tubes naturally using castor oil packs and enzymes - if you are still ovulating there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't keep trying- it only takes one good egg xxx

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 03/02/2021 15:43

@Luan82 thank you lovely... I had the spotting and cramps etc then everything stopped I haven’t had no bleeding for days now and has minor cramping this morning and now that’s gone.. it’s so confusing as my ectopic was over so quickly it resolved itself so quickly my hcg level was 480 and then within 11 days it went to zero.. I just really want a normal period just to clear me out... I will definitely do that with the ovulation tests that’s a good idea as those clear blues are so expensive.. i am scared it will happen again but seeing how some of the ladies on here have gone on to have multiple successful pregnancies has given me hope xx

Luan82 · 03/02/2021 22:17

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 - did they definitely confirm it was a tubal pregnancy ? as you've already conceived naturally it's highly likely that the ectopic is just a bit of bad luck tbh, as I highly doubt your tubes are badly scarred - that's more of an issue if you have also been struggling with infertility for a while and the sperm has struggled to meet the egg each month (unfortunately this is true in my case) - try not to worry too much xx

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 03/02/2021 22:27

@Luan82 yes when they did the second scan there was a very small mass in my right tube.. all she said was that it was resolving itself nicely and I didn’t require the jab or surgery.. they did my last blood Monday and it was zero so discharged me.. I conceived within 2 months I only no this because I had stopped my pill end of October and was pregnant end of December.. oh hun it’s so crap isn’t it and it’s made me completely obsess over everything xx

Kate105 · 04/02/2021 09:18

Good luck for your scan today @MrsB2019x xxx

HereIfYouNeedMe · 04/02/2021 12:02

Just had my results from my last bloody test, down to 9 so I've been discharged 😅 emotional but so happy I can move on. 3 month wait begins! Xx

HereIfYouNeedMe · 04/02/2021 12:02

kayvsy · 04/02/2021 12:13

Hey all! Hope you don't mind if I join onto this thread, this is actually my first message on mumsnet Smile

I had an ectopic last year June which was treated with "expectant management" and have been wanting to TTC since. Only problem is I've only had 2 periods post the ectopic (1 in October, 1 in December) so my cycles are so irregular I can't figure out when my fertile window is.
Have recently had blood tests and an ultrasound, dr says everything looks healthy but they don't know why my periods have been irregular. Not sure if I even ovulated the last 2 cycles or if it was the lining just sloughing off naturally.

If anyone has been through something similar I would love to know!

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 04/02/2021 15:27

@HereIfYouNeedMe I no how you felt I felt the same Monday when I got the zero blood test result it’s so bittersweet hope you’re ok lovely x
