Congratulations @Peachee 🍾

Fingers crossed for Thursday @DoctorBambino that should be helpful!

All well here thanks (Fx) but I have now passed the point where I started spotting last time... also getting ALL of the pregnancy symptoms so taking that as a good sign too. Last time I had hardly any and with hindsight that was probably the low HCG levels.

I would also love baby spam but like @MrsB2019x I appreciate that’s easy for me to say right now xxx

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2021 14:59

@Kate105 So glad you’re progressing 💪 I found that once I’d passed the point of my ectopic (5+4) I relaxed a bit more

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 15:22

Hey lovelies! Anyone who had methotrexate, did you take a special kind of folic acid after? I've got the usual Holland & Barratt stuff but should I get something different in?
Decided to use the 3 month wait to try and get a bit fitter, strengthen my back etc so it hopefully goes quickly 🤞🏼 crazy now to think it'll be the end of April by then!

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2021 16:13

@HereIfYouNeedMe Nah just the bog standard stuff ☺️ How are you doing?

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 16:23

@MrsB2019x great thanks hun, wasn't sure about other fancy pants stuff 😂
I'm ok! I had my first lot of bloods done after the injection on Monday and my levels have gone from 85 to 49! So I'm responding well and hoping for good results Thursday. It's an ordeal, the whole thing. How are you and bump?

DoctorBambino · 02/02/2021 16:58

@luan82 sorry to hear your surgery has been delayed again. Mine's through NHS, immediately after my ectopic I paid for a consultation with a private fertility consultant he recommended either lap and dye or hycosy. My gp then referred me based on that. I decided to go for the hyfosy as I don't really want more surgery during covid and also didn't want to wait for ages. The hospital also seemed to prefer the hyfosy route, cheaper I guess!

@HereIfYouNeedMe - I took some folate that's easily absorbable if that helps? I think it's nutri advanced folate - my herbalist recommended it, but tbh I think the regular folic acid is just as good it's like pre natal vitamins - the brand is really just personal preference x

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 17:09

@Luan82 ok thank you lovely, I may as well eat my way through what I have 😊 when I'm allowed

Kate105 · 02/02/2021 17:10

I don’t think the folic acid matters too much. I just carried on taking Boots own conception multi vitamin because it’s got folic acid and vitamin D in it as well as every else. Bulk bought loads of them when it was on offer so still using them now... got another 3 months worth or something to get through 😂🙈

Luan82 · 02/02/2021 17:10

@DoctorBambino thank you so much. As I'm due another follow up call with the consultant in a few days I'll mention this to her in light of my low ovarian reserve situation, I think it might be the best option as the moment instead of surgery x

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 17:21

@Kate105 I might get those instead, I bulk bought pregnancy vitamins but they can be of use in the future hopefully! X

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 02/02/2021 17:21

Can I join please??? I am nearly 2 weeks post ectopic which was treated via expectant management so no need for injection or surgery and I still have both tubes condition to those are unknown... I am hoping to start my ttc journey once my period has come and gone but feeling really scared as this was a shock pregnancy I was due fo go into surgery and my pregnancy test came back positive 🙈... I received my last blood results yesterday and it all came back negative for hcg so my body just naturally resolved everything I have no pain or bleeding... baby dust to you all xx

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 17:27

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 what a rollercoaster for you!! Good luck lovely! 😊

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 02/02/2021 17:32

@HereIfYouNeedMe oh tell me about it I was all gowned up ready to go and I got hit with the you’re pregnant and your surgery is cancelled 🙈 I was very fortunate my body cleared everything out and really quickly I was half expecting to have hcg in my system for sometime... i have asked for and hsg test but they said I probs will be refused as it’s the first time to happen x

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 17:37

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 such a shock and then an awful thing to have happened!! I'm sure it'll be the last time for it to happen xx

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2021 17:49

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 What a story! Hope you are recovering well

@HereIfYouNeedMe That’s really good progression, hopefully not too much longer til you’re discharged 🤞 me and bump are okay thanks, had my first day of vomming yesterday which was lush 😖 12 week scan on Thursday!

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 17:53

@MrsB2019x oh no bless you! I just felt on the verge of needing to be sick aaall the time with DS!

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 17:53

@MrsB2019x eek! Exciting that it's on Thursday! Will you be telling friends etc?

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 02/02/2021 18:03

@ MrsB2019x it sure was... if I am completely honest I think my symptoms were quite minor compared to some of the ladies I have spoken to and seem on threads I just had stabbing pains and bleeding.. i am very fortunate my tube did not rupture... I am all good now mine seem to have self resolved within 12 days all bleeding has gone cramps are gone and hcg level negative as of yesterday... I am so scared to try again incase it happens again I didn’t really get much support from the EPU and I had a horrible experience when I went to a&e and the lady doctor kindly announced my ectopic pregnancy to everyone in the a&e waiting area instead of offering me a side room to talk in.. it’s so nice to speak to ladies who have experienced the same so we can all support each other x

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 18:14

That's really unkind of her! Research shows it's unlikely to happen again, easier said than done but enjoy TTC as best you can! Will this be your 3rd?

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 02/02/2021 18:28

@HereIfYouNeedMe yes this would be my third I honestly thought my family was complete until I go that shock pregnancy but I really would like one more.. it’s lovely to get some much needed support for ladies who have been through it all my friends haven’t been great if I am honest x

HereIfYouNeedMe · 02/02/2021 18:55

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 sorry to hear that!! Lack of knowledge about it do you think? Although there is google for that!

Rach2021 · 02/02/2021 18:59

Hey may I join on too?

I'm beginning to TTC after an ectopic rupture and removal of tube 5yrs ago had a coil ever since but removing it now.

I didn't get much advice after my op just that if I get a positive test to go straight to EPU not Drs xx

MumOf2LittleMinions57 · 02/02/2021 19:21

@HereIfYouNeedMe 100% I just get the it wasn’t a baby it was just an embryo stuff from my friends so pretty much put distance between myself and them the only one that’s been generally supportive is the one that’s due her baby in a few weeks time.. I have brought some ovulation sticks to track my cycle as I am guessing that’s going to be out of whack all start them after 2 cycles x

NigellasMicrowave · 02/02/2021 19:24

Welcome @MumOf2LittleMinions57 and @Rach2021. It is a rotten club to be a part of, but I’ve had a lot of support here already and I hope you find the same.

@Peachee congratulations! It is always very cheering to have a good news story.

@DoctorBambino all good wishes and luck to you for Thursday. Do let us know how you get on. I really hope you are able to get some answers and reassurance from it. I’d be very interested to learn how you find the procedure.

@HereIfYouNeedMe I continued to take the same folic acid I’d done previously. It is the Active Folic if you’re interested. My GP told me I’d just wee out any excess in any event and that she’d happily check my levels this month before my three months are up. I found that very reassuring.

I have my first proper period post-ectopic. It is a bit heavier and painful on the ectopic side. I’m going to be asking the consultant I’m seeing on Friday whether there might be any reason for the one-sided pain. I’m quite relieved to be getting my period in any event!
