@ThinnerByDinner - excellent news, I do think you're sensible to wait a little - everyone is different but I had to grief the loss first before thinking about the next stage, my other half struggled to see the pregnancy in the same way that I did too so I felt quite isolated which is why it's so nice to speak to others that have been through the same thing xx

MrsB2019x · 29/01/2021 08:26

@HereIfYouNeedMe Glad it went well, hope the side effects aren’t too rough on you

@Luan82 Glad you said it, we barely had sex during the 3 month wait because condoms we’re just awful 🙈

Luan82 · 29/01/2021 08:54

@MrsB2019x 😂🤣😂

Kate105 · 29/01/2021 09:36

I agree with the condom chat. Not quite the worst thing about this whole experience but what a mood killer!

I waited until I’d had two “proper” periods (not the initial bleed) and that was 3 calendar months. Started with the folic acid straight away as well.

NigellasMicrowave · 29/01/2021 10:14

Anyone else get a dull ache on the side of their ectopic? I have pretty consistently this week. I am sort of wondering whether it might be digestion related (my gut hasn’t been quite the same since the methotrexate) and whether to speak to the GP about it.

I also don’t know whether paying privately for a consultation with a gynaecologist is something I should do or not. I am wondering whether it might be helpful to have someone look at my notes and answer some of my questions. My NHS care was terrific in lots of ways but there’s no follow up care at all.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 29/01/2021 10:42

@NigellasMicrowave I think that's a great idea to give you the answers you're looking for x

Luan82 · 29/01/2021 20:40

@Kate105 -so pleased I'm not the only one! 😂
@NigellasMicrowave - I absolutely experience pain, it's hard to tell if it's the ectopic side because they never actually found the pregnancy - couldn't see it in either tube so we were never sure which side - sometimes it on one side that I'm ovulating on and sometimes both - I remember a lady on the ectopic pregnancy trust board that told me that she had pains on her ectopic side after she conceived and was really concerned about it but the pregnancy was in the right place which is reassuring - I think it might be scar tissue ? Xx

MrsB2019x · 29/01/2021 23:54

@NigellasMicrowave Yeah I had pains every now and then at the ectopic site, especially around ovulation! Had some at the start of this pregnancy too but I think everything stretching was irritating the scar tissue

Hlump1980 · 30/01/2021 07:17

Just reading updates now . Sorry it has been mental at school the last few weeks. It doesn’t really the ‘try and stay calm and relaxed when TTC’. I don’t think they knew there would be a pandemic .
Lovely news @Sammyclaire22
@Kate105 I hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy .
To all the new joiners welcome and I am sorry you are here but it is really is a lovely and helpful group . I am in the no mans land of waiting to see if I am pregnant this month but still too early to know .
Can I ask had anybody used Sheoak ? My friend sent it me . Is it any good ? She used it and finally got pregnant ( not saying that was the reason ). X

Luan82 · 30/01/2021 09:51

Morning @Hlump1980 !! I had a quick look and looks like it's a kind of supplement? Never heard of it tbh but I have been taking agnus castus every month up to ovulation - after my bloods the doctor said my progesterone was pretty low and my prolactin was a little high and the month after taking it the bloodwork came back over 30 for the first time which is great ! I think the 'she oak' might do the same thing or similar? I honestly daren't take any more supplements though I'm on so so much random stuff already 😬 interesting that it helps peri menopause though? Confirmed this week that I'm definitely in the pre menopause stage, AFC 7 and Amh came back as low too at 4.6 - time is becoming a real factor for me now as well as the suspected endo I've got this to contend with !! - definitely not the news I needed atm, especially as we can't control how fast things move along in the middle of a global pandemic ... 😩 xxx

NigellasMicrowave · 30/01/2021 10:34

Thanks all, the ache is a bit better today. You have given me the confidence to book an appointment with a gynaecologist next week. My questions may not have definitive answers, but at least I’ll ask.

@Hlump1980 fingers crossed for you.

@Luan82 that’s amazing about the agnus castus. Totally understandable to be frustrated about the blood results this week. Did you get any sense of what might be next?

Luan82 · 30/01/2021 11:13

@NigellasMicrowave - yes, sort of! Even before the ectopic I'd been referred to a specialist as we'd been trying for 6 months - the consultant thinks it's likely that I have endometriosis (possibly within tubes) and she has booked me in for a laparoscopic surgery to investigate and clear any scarring she'll also do the dye test to check my tubes for blockage, she sounded confident that it would help but I was supposed to be going in January and obviously that hasn't happened due to the circumstances, they are telling me it now looks like either February/ March time for the surgery so I'm just playing the waiting game now and ttc in the meantime xx

MrsB2019x · 01/02/2021 20:58

Congratulations @Peachee!

Peachee · 01/02/2021 21:51

@MrsB2019x Thankyou

DoctorBambino · 02/02/2021 09:41

Hi all work has been mad, just had a bit of a catch up on here, congratulations @peachee!

I've got my hyfosy booked for Thursday to check my remaining tube. Bit nervous about the potential pain but so so hopeful for some answers!

How is everyone else doing?

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2021 10:27

That’s progress @DoctorBambino 💪 hopefully you get some answers from that!

@Sammyclaire22 How are you and bubba getting along?

Sammyclaire22 · 02/02/2021 11:41

Lovely clear positives @peachee! Congratulations!

@luan82 I was recommended agnus castus by another mum on one of these threads too, she got pregnant a few months after starting it and I got pregnant the month I took it. Having read into it beforehand it looks like it's great at helping to regulate squiffy cycles. My ovulation was usually a bit early (cd10), but it was cd12 on the month I took it which might be coincidence but something worked. Great to hear your bloods are improving and fc you get a bfp soon.

@doctorbambino we are good thanks! One week in and she's so cute. Still getting a bit breathless and tired easily but with the bleed I think that's common until my anaemia resolves. Obv lack of sleep doesn't help too.
If people wanted baby spam I'm happy to post a pic, but I don't want to trigger anyone. I remember those dark days after my surgery x

Sammyclaire22 · 02/02/2021 11:42

Sorry I meant to put @mrsb2019x!

Sammyclaire22 · 02/02/2021 11:44

Good luck with the hyfosy on Thurs @doctorbambino, I've heard sometimes it can help clear blockages if there are any? Either way I hope its not too uncomfortable and gets you some answers x

Peachee · 02/02/2021 11:48

Thankyou for all your lovely messages xx

Luan82 · 02/02/2021 11:52

@Sammyclaire22 thanks so much - currently 6dpo so right smack bang in the middle of that wonderful 2WW where you obsessively google every little thing !! 😂😂 id love to see some pics but I understand if others might feel it's a bit too fresh for them after surgery/meds
@Peachee - wonderful news - fantastic strong lines too!! Yay!! It's so comforting to see others conceiving without issue after ectopic x

Luan82 · 02/02/2021 11:56

@DoctorBambino - that's incredibly positive, I have heard the the pressure can flush out any debris or adhesions if there are any remaining so keeping my fingers crossed for you. Would you mind me asking if it's through NHS or private (don't mind if it's confidential) purely because I'm desperately trying to get investigations on my tubes and just been told the laparoscopic surgery has been cancelled again ☹️ id be happy to pay for private hycosy if it meant that I don't lose any more time xxx

MrsB2019x · 02/02/2021 12:53

@Sammyclaire22 Glad you’re settling in well! Hopefully you get your energy back soon. I’d love to see some baby spam but I can’t speak for everybody as it’s easy to say when I’m pregnant!

@Luan82 From what I know they don’t routinely offer hycosy on the NHS unless it’s part of wider fertility tests but it probably differs by area 🤷🏻‍♀️

Luan82 · 02/02/2021 13:13

@MrsB2019x - gotcha, tbh my consultant hasn't mentioned it but think she planned on injecting the dye during the lap, I just have no idea when minor surgeries will be scheduled again atm which is so frustrating esp when time is such an issue and with a low ovarian reserve - I'll make some calls see how I go about booking in, was a bit concerned if I went about doing anything privately that it might negatively affect my referral if that makes sense ? x
