Congratulations to all of those BFPs @coffeewithmilk @DoctorBambino!! Do you mind if I ask if you guys go down the IVF route privately or on the NHS?

I am 2 weeks post tube removal. Feeling physically a lot better and a bit more back to me which is nice. On our way back home from 4 days in Devon/Cornwall which was also sorely needed. Husband struggled a bit once we got on holiday as we hadn't spoken about it together and I think he was still really down - but he managed to throw himself into the holiday after a day or so.

We have decided to continue with trying straight away - I know this is not right for everyone but after our 3rd loss, I think it's the only way for us to feel like we are doing something,

Currently CD12 so providing my HPT is negative later this afternoon I will start temping and OPKing again. Expecting I will ovulate around the weekend and then into the TWW!

I hope everyone is getting on well also! Xx

coffeewithmilk · 26/05/2021 14:57

@Louise276 thank you!
I'm not in the UK. I'm in Ireland, so we had to go privately. (IVF isn't funded here)
All in all so far it's cost us around €8000 x

DoctorBambino · 26/05/2021 17:30

Hi @Louise276 I started trying straight away too, if you feel ready why not!

For our IVF we also went privately, I wasn't willing to wait as long as it would take with the NHS and was fortunate to have enough to cover it. To be honest I'd also lost faith in the NHS because of my experiences with the ectopic. They are so stretched and under so much pressure! We now have one on board and 5 in the freezer so I'm very glad I made that choice!

Official test day today and I got 2-3 weeks on a digital! Early scan booked for 12th June (day after my birthday!)

Hope everyone else is keeping well. @Luan82 you must be starting pretty soon?

@DoctorBambino I certainly am!! Meds arrived today (😬) currently 10dpo and AF is due on Saturday - as soon as it arrives I've got to call the clinic and advise them that I'm starting with the injections. Eeeeeeek!! Bloomin amazing news that your cycle went so well - it's so reassuring to read positive stories too!! Xx

@coffeewithmilk @DoctorBambino it's so good to hear positive stories! I am excited for you both. @Luan82 - best of luck to you also!!!

After your ectopics - how long did you try naturally before both decided to explore IVF? We have always got pregnant pretty quickly before so I am keen to try for a while first - but not sure how long to try for before we look at IVF.

Luckily we also have money if we decided to go privately. I don't think I could wait for another 12 months of trying until we could get any help from the NHS - we are already 15 months in as it is due to the 3 losses.

Xx

coffeewithmilk · 26/05/2021 19:36

@Louise276 after each ectopic, we waited 3 months to try to conceive. We conceived after the first month trying on the second time, and then the 2nd month trying the 3rd time, both were subsequent ectopics so then we were left no choice but ivf because both my tubes were gone xx

@Luan82 how exciting! I remember feeling really overwhelmed when my medications arrived!
(Also, stock up on the panty liners...the pessaries can be a bit yuck at times 😂) x

MrsB2019x · 26/05/2021 19:39

Amazing news @DoctorBambino! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy 🎉 update us after your scan!

@coffeewithmilk Have you tested anymore? How’s your progression looking?

So exciting that you’re starting soon too @Luan82! About time this thread had a boom of BFPs 😁

coffeewithmilk · 26/05/2021 19:41

@MrsB2019x I did another test this afternoon.
I'm running out of tests so I think I'll just stop testing now until my official test day of June 1st!
There's a good progression I think!
@DoctorBambino has the perfect profession on hers!!
I've been feeling super exhausted today with headaches and cramps, so all taking that as a good sign! Xx

TTC after ectopic Part 2
Luan82 · 26/05/2021 20:08

@Louise276 thank you ! I was trying for a little over 6 months before the ectopic happened and was starting with blood test and hormone levels then covid hit and obviously had the three month wait, following that I was referred to a consultant for suspected endometriosis and she wanted to get me in for surgery - took it upon myself to pay privately for a HyCoSy to see if the endo had spread to my tubes surprisingly it came back clear so the consultant decided to move forward with IVF as it was likely low ovarian reserve that was the issue - in total we've been trying for two years and due to my age (38) and amh (4.6) felt we just couldn't wait any longer xx

Luan82 · 26/05/2021 20:15

@coffeewithmilk that's a very useful tip - thanks! 😳😂 that progression looks amazing to me!!
@MrsB2019x - thanks so much, will be exactly a year since the ectopic on June the 6th so feels like I've come full circle ! 🌈🤞🏼😘

NigellasMicrowave · 26/05/2021 21:30

So exciting @DoctorBambino and @coffeewithmilk. I have everything crossed - you both deserve so much joy.

@Kate105 I can’t speak for others, but I find it inspiring and life-affirming to hear good outcomes after ectopics. I need hope, and it is helpful to be reminded of it!

@Luan82 that’s quite a parcel! I hope you’ll be able to keep us updated.

Luan82 · 26/05/2021 21:50

@NigellasMicrowave absolutely! 😘

MrsB2019x · 27/05/2021 08:18

@coffeewithmilk That’s lovely progression! 🎉

Hlump1980 · 31/05/2021 10:40

Hello everyone
It seems there has been lots of good news for some of you while I took a break. Welcome to the new joiners and sorry you are here. To everyone else still trying sending you lots of luck .
I went to see Prof Regan a couple of weeks ago. She seems to think I have a bloody clotting issue so took lots of bloods which I need to repeat in a couple of weeks. They checked my uterus and everything looked fine .
I had 2 insensitive friends this week !! One texted me with .... I can’t remember if I told you I was pregnant !!!! And the other one who told me she was pregnant a few weeks ago sent her and 12 and 20 scan out !!! I haven’t responded to either. They just don’t get how hurtful it is !!
I actually get to this stage where I just think I don’t actually need you in my life !!

Louise276 · 31/05/2021 19:57

@Hlump1980 hey! I just thought I would chip in and say I am also being seen under Professor Regan and also have a blood clotting issue. Mine isn't genetic and was picked up on the one off blood clotting test she orders which is done in their research clinic. She has been very good looking into our 2 previous MCs and I was prescribed aspirin for my last pregnancy (which sadly ended in ectopic).

I have an appointment with her in a couple of weeks to discuss our options moving forward - although as this pregnancy was lost due to it being in my tube rather than a miscarriage I am expecting that she will say our treatment plan for any future pregnancies is to remain the same!

I hope she is as helpful to you as she was for me.

I agree about people being insensitive - my SIL did a gender reveal as we were arriving for lunch which was extremely extremely hard. I know slightly differed but I also nearly burst into tears when having my covid jab this week when asked by the nurse about whether there could be a chance you could be pregnant in the next 3 months. Wasn't easy when she said "if you get pregnant, don't worry we won't ask you to terminate it".

Hopefully we will be the ones with the good news soon apart from everyone else Xx

Hlump1980 · 01/06/2021 06:04

@Louise276
Thanks so much for that. I am hoping it just ‘ take baby aspirin’
Sorry you had a shitty week too xx

Lililou · 01/06/2021 08:50

Tested twice just now and I thiiiiink I can see a very faint line on both. I was convinced it wasn't going to happen for us this month. Can you see it?
