@Sweetbabydust1989 - I’m not sure. I didn’t have shoulder tip pain with mine. I found it reassuring that the ectopic pregnancy trust points out that shoulder tip pain usually comes along with other signs of being quite unwell. This is because the pain is caused by internal bleeding and if you get to that point it would be unusual (though not impossible) not to have other clear indicators that you’re not well at all.

Scan done and all is well!!!! Baby in the right place and we even saw a heartbeat. Relieved barely comes close!

NigellasMicrowave · 24/04/2021 10:28

Fantastic news @ActonBell. How cheering. Everything crossed for a very happy few months to come.

Congratulations to @Sweetbabydust1989 and @coffeewithmilk. Lots of good news on this thread this week.

Coffee - I’ve been thinking about how you are getting on, how lovely to have such a positive update. There are a lot of us willing you on, do let us know how you are doing.

@Lililou I had a bit of a rough two weeks as well. I knew it was unlikely I’d be pregnant first go, but I had somewhat hoped I might get a baby in 2021 with a due date around the time of my first ectopic. It’s a waiting game and I am pretty impatient!

I’ve been to acupuncture this week and the therapist was wonderful - she’s treated a lot of women who have experienced ectopic pregnancies and completely understood what I was going through. It was really relaxing and it felt good to be doing something for myself.

Ivybutterfly · 24/04/2021 11:06

Hello everyone, sorry I have been so quiet. A lot happening work wise etc. I am 34 weeks now!

@coffeewithmilk so happy to hear that. 6 embryos! I hope you are okay. I think of you often.

Congratulations for the BFPs.

Lots of love and baby dust to everyone. Xxx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 25/04/2021 09:28

@ActonBell so pleased your scan went well mine is in 2 days time 🙈 I will only be 4 wks 6days so they will not see much I am just praying baby is in the right place... my pain is down to stress and sleep positions I think as I changed my position last night now my other arm bicep is hurting I need to stop hugging my pillows at night lol xxx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 26/04/2021 12:10

Tomorrow is the day my fate will be confirmed I have a mixture of emotions fear being the main one how did you all feel when going to the first scan... I am overthinking every little twinge etc I am trying to stay calm and relax... with my ectopic I new something was wrong as the pain was unbearable but this time round I have no idea I keep thinking about the shoulder tip pain when then causes my arm to start achy xx

ActonBell · 26/04/2021 12:21

@Sweetbabydust1989 - I was crying in waiting room before the scan tbh. They were very understanding though and explained everything they were doing very clearly. Hope you get some reassurance tomorrow. Flowers

Sweetbabydust1989 · 26/04/2021 12:32

@ActonBell thanks lovely I was crying last night I am petrified.. I have been having cramps today not sure if I should be worried xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 27/04/2021 07:42

Today is the day I find out my fate to say iam bricking it is an understatement I have thrown up 4 times already... I have cramps and pains my where my pervious ectopic was I am not sure if it's just nerves that's causing this I felt ok the other day but gradually got worse over night I really hope they see clear tubes xx

Luan82 · 27/04/2021 09:18

Sweetbabydust1989 · 27/04/2021 11:03

Just an update... back for a scan on Friday had 4 doctors in the room and a dildo probe felt like a div with my legs in the air... they said they think they can see a sac but aren't 100% and then on my notes it says sac seen!!! Ovaries looked clear and at present my tubes are clear xx

KJW00 · 27/04/2021 11:28

Hi all

Newbie here Smile I have been reading through so many of these forums! Firstly, Congrats to all those who have had positive tests and the positive scans!! 💐

I fell pregnant after 3 months of trying but unfortunately ended in an ectopic pregnancy in March this year which had ruptured and ended in me losing my right tube.

I’m struggling to stay positive and have these overwhelming feeling of sadness that I cannot shift so I have reached out to a counsellor.

I have so many questions going through my head. I think one of the main worries is conceiving again and how long that will take. And the worry of being pregnant again Sad

Did anyone do anything different when the TTC again? I have ordered some fertility support vitamins and trying to get track of my cycle!!!

I’ve had one proper period since the surgery and we are ready to TTC. So this is my first month trying again!

Any suggestion will be really appreciated Smile

Luan82 · 27/04/2021 13:01

@Sweetbabydust1989 that's great news!! Now that they can see the sac hopefully can put your mind at rest till the next scan! Are they going to measure bloods to see the levels rising appropriately or just scans? Xx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 27/04/2021 13:04

@Luan82 well I asked about bloods and they said Friday when I have my best scan they will do some... I am more relaxed but still concerned as the lady said they see something like a sac structure but on my notes it says my sac was seen xx

Luan82 · 27/04/2021 13:10

@KJW00 - welcome to the group!! I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic and subsequent surgery especially so soon after ttc. I started trying in December and had an ectopic in June still desperately trying for baby numero uno (though I also have suspected endo and DOR) It's not an ideal group to find yourself in but everyone here is so supportive it's been a lifeline for me, the only way I can share my TWW stories without friends and family knowing or thinking I'm mad!! It's good that you are seeing a counsellor as it's imperative that you are ready to try again emotionally not just because you can medically - the hardest part for me was the disappointment of not conceiving right after we tried again (we also had 3 months off due to the medication). Personally I found that castor oil and fertility massage helped me a lot, I also had a HyCoSy scan procedure to make sure that my tubes were clear- like you the fear of another ectopic at times has been pretty overwhelming. If you have any questions just let me know - went for a walk with a mate on Saturday and she said she's never met anyone so knowledgeable on fertility!! (Years of Google, self medication and research!!) xx

Luan82 · 27/04/2021 13:13

@KJW00 - meant to say ovulation tracking is a good start, and opks are cheap to get hold of, maybe BBT charting too? That way you can start to get to grips with your cycle length and ovulation dates, start using the opks when you see egg white cervical mucus - also make sure you take folic acid, vitamin b6 and vitamin d - I use a multi vitamin that covers all those x

ActonBell · 27/04/2021 13:15

@Sweetbabydust1989 - that’s great! I’m not surprised it’s a bit ambiguous about the sac, though I can imagine it’s stressful. It’s such an early point to have a scan. Hopefully things will be clearer next time.
But such great news that tubes look clear.

Luan82 · 27/04/2021 13:16

@Sweetbabydust1989 my guess is that they saw the sac but it's way too early for the yolk yet- she probably couldn't confirm for sure but if they added sac seen on the notes it's a pretty sure fire sign, also if you have no bleeding this is a good sign too - with my ectopic I actually got my period, seems the numbers went up so slowly my body didn't register the pregnancy !!

ActonBell · 27/04/2021 13:18

@KJW00 - hi. You’re story sounds very similar to mine. Also had my right tube removed.
It is really, really hard and it’s great that you’re looking at talking therapy. You might not hit it off with the first counsellor you try but once you find the right person it really helps I think.

I would echo what’s been said about the first month ttc being the hardest especially if it doesn’t work out. Be really gentle with yourself during this time.

The odds are still in your favour overall of having a healthy pregnancy.

KJW00 · 28/04/2021 08:13

@ActonBell yeah I find it difficult talking to friends and family as they don’t really understand so a therapist is a good start! Thankful for all these support forums and groups even though I am sorry we are all here. My surgeon has explained my ovaries and left tube all look normal so I am trying to stay hopeful! 💐

@Luan82 thank you. I am trying not to fixate my life on getting pregnant again but I want to give my self the best possible chance so I have purchased some vitamins, tracking my BBT and have got some ovulation sticks so I can get a good idea of when I am ovulating! Did you have to go through the doctors for a HyCoSy scan procedure?

Luan82 · 28/04/2021 08:50

@KJW00 - I'm currently going through the nhs referral process for unexplained infertility but because the ectopic happened right at the start of covid most places shut temporarily so I actually paid privately for the HyCoSy -agreed with my consultant before progressing, that said - we chose to undertake the procedure because she suspected endometriosis was the cause of the ectopic and the ectopic was treated with medication there was no real way to tell if my tubes were blocked whereas because your surgeon has examined your remaining tube and ovary puts you in a much better position moving forward xxx

Sweetbabydust1989 · 28/04/2021 10:59

@ActonBell I am all good now no more pains well apart from my boobs they kill today... back on Friday for a scan not sure they will see much but as long as tubes are clear and the sac like structure is actually a sac... I am 5 weeks today according to my lmp but i think I am earlier than that... how you feeling lovely? Xx
