Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

Is it normal to have an increased RHR at ovulation? My temp didn't shoot up this morning, but RHR is higher today.

Fran2020 · 02/03/2021 15:31

@GlassLily Thank you! So do I! 🤞🏼
That's good that your LP is increasing - fingers crossed for the next couple of months!

@mumof23188 Thank you, I'm ok thank you! Getting used to the disappointment even when I'm feeling so hopeful! How are you feeling?

lucyrp · 02/03/2021 20:20

Hi everyone sorry I'm rubbish at keeping up with threads now! Hope you're all okay. Have I missed anything ? 💞

lucyrp · 02/03/2021 20:21

@Kona84 I hate to say it but I don't think your midwife will offer an early scan to ease anxiety. I tried my hardest to explain how anxious I was about it and if I could get a scan it would help and she said they don't offer reassurance scans and I'd have to go private if I wanted one so I waited until 8 weeks and then went for one. Was definitely worth it though

lucyrp · 02/03/2021 20:24

@Kona84 also this was my rhr from 7 weeks. I had many days where it would go down for a few days ina row

@Juno231 wow, I didn't know about that! My doctor said I can try aspirin if I like, but I thought it was just after BFP and didn't know it helped in LP too. I'm not sure whether to give it a go, I'm already on a lot of tablets, it's getting ridiculous! Maybe I should try pineapple this time... I don't like it though.

GlassLily · 02/03/2021 21:24

@Kona84 glad you are staying positive, like the others have said, we've seen loads of drops during pregnancy and they have been fine. Especially a steady drop, surely it's just your body getting used to being pregnant?

mumof23188 · 03/03/2021 08:15

@noname55 hi ☺️. Generally you are looking for a rise in RHR and no big drops which show AF is imminent. How’s it looking today?

@Cakelaur yes your HR can rise on day of ov or for some it can drop. How’s your BBT looking today?

@lucyrp hope you are doing well ☺️

@Fran2020 I’m sorry 😩 it’s just not fair. I’m glad you are doing ok. I’m ok thank you 😊

Cakelaur · 03/03/2021 08:20

@mumof23188 bloody LOW!!! 😭😂🙈
I'm off to buy a new battery for the thermometer. Because I refuse to believe with such a strong peak, and all the other signs matching up, that my temp is the lowest it's ever been! 🙈

mumof23188 · 03/03/2021 08:22

@Cakelaur bloody irritating 😩😩. How long have you been temping for? It’s not unusual for bbt to drop on day of ov either!

Cakelaur · 03/03/2021 09:08

I used to bbt years ago to conceive my first. Second was a surprise and this one we've done a few months without, but I added it in again this month. I just wish my chart was more standard! 😂

Moominmiss · 04/03/2021 17:16

@mumof23188 hello! I’m all good thank you. I hope you are too.

Yes, my booking appointment went great. Having the maternity notes definitely makes things feel quite real! lol.

So I had my nhs 12 week scan appointment come through. But it’s not until 22nd, by which point I’ll be near 14 weeks. I wasn’t happy to wait that long, as I’d then have to wait however long for the combined screening results, then book a nipt if needs be, then wait for the results of that, all before we could tell anyone. By which point I’d be 17 weeks or so, and seeing as I’m showing a lot already, hiding it until then is just not an option.

So we’ve gone ahead and booked the private scan and nipt test for next Friday. Then should get the results of that within a week and then can tell people if all is ok.

Then hopefully I can just look forward to the nhs scan as I’ll already know things are ok, and I can treat it as just another nice look at baby!

Let me know how your scan goes on Monday!!!

Juno231 · 04/03/2021 17:32

@cakelaur you sure the thermometer didn't just say "Lo" ? Mine did that and I thought it needed new batteries but turns out that's what it's meant to say when it's ready to be used and I'd just never noticed it before lol (or read the instructions!)

@Moominmiss Glad to hear you got private appointments sorted - I agree that 14 weeks is a ridiculous wait!

4DPO and just twiddling my thumbs! This is so boring now.
OH has his SA tomorrow morning so I'll contact the Doctor's secretary tomorrow to let them know all tests have been done and can I please have a follow up appointment scheduled. Very much hoping I don't have to wait until the 8th of July one they sent through the post the other day!

@mumof23188 I'm good thank you! How are you?? Xx

mumof23188 · 05/03/2021 08:18

@Cakelaur hope you’ve had your rise now 🤞.

@Moominmiss yes having the notes definitely makes it feel a bit more real 😁. Ah wow yes that’s definitely to late, I think the cut off is 14 weeks for the tests? Glad you’ve got the nipt booked in. How exciting ☺️. Fingers crossed all is well. I’m sure it is 😍. Think I will be 13+2 when I have my scan Monday. Times dragging on. Just need to know everything is ok!

@Juno231 I can only imagine 😩. Hope you get an appointment quicker than the 8th July!! That’s ages away!

mumof23188 · 05/03/2021 08:21

@lucyrp glad to hear you are ok ☺️. How’s the sickness? Hopefully it’s gone now!

Cakelaur · 05/03/2021 15:08

@Juno231 the thermometer didn't say anything, it's just I bought it in 2017 and haven't ever changed the batteries 😂 so just changed them incase.

@mumof23188 yes! Thank god. Now 3dpo!! 🎉🎉and snuck in a cheeky extra bd... so I feel good about timing.

lucyrp · 05/03/2021 15:52

@mumof23188 yes no sickness! Apart from when I get hormonal migraines which make me sick! Never had them before not in pregnancy so that's new and can't say they're enjoyable either 🙁 how are you ?

GlassLily · 07/03/2021 10:58

@Juno231 hope your TWW is going ok. Are you stressing or ok? Recently I'm so impatient in my LP. I'm actually impatient the whole time.... I don't ovulate until day 19ish, so I have a TWW between the end of AF and ovulation, and now adjusting from a 10 day wait up to (hopefully) a full TWW after ovulation.

GlassLily · 07/03/2021 11:18

I'm CD8, had a drink for the first time in months and now my RHR is all over the place

LarasMama · 07/03/2021 11:37

Hi guys, I’m back. Just catching up a bit, but it’ll take some time to read through everything that i missed.

Here I am 14dpo (ov was early on cd9), some mild cramping, just a bit of spotting a few days ago and creamy almost watery cm. My RHR is really low, so I’m hoping AF will show soon. But my cm got me all confused. Never at this stage has it been like this. OPK was negative. Has anyone experienced this?

GlassLily · 09/03/2021 06:42

Hi @LarasMama how are you doing? My CM does whatever it wants and there is no rhyme or reason, so I wouldn't read too much into it - then again that's normal for me, so could be totally different for you. Have you tested this morning? It sounds promising, but then again low RHR is not so promising.

Juno231 · 09/03/2021 09:28

@LarasMama did AF show in the end?

@GlassLily yeah I'm impatient throughout. Impatient for FW, for ovulation, for TWW to be over and all over again. I'm 9DPO today and my HR was really high during the night but the RHR has been dropped today so I don't get it. I had a high of 74 on Sun but am down to 70 today. Temps have gone up to 36.94 though. I'm feeling rather defeated though, I don't think this is it either! How are you? Where are you in your cycle now?

OP posts:
mumof23188 · 09/03/2021 10:30

@LarasMama yes unfortunately I don’t think you can tell anything by CM 😩. Any news? Did the witch show?

@Juno231 sorry to hear that you are feeling impatient! Totally understandable 😓. Hope your HR picks up and you get some good news xx

GlassLily · 09/03/2021 10:37

@Juno231 that's interesting. I spend ages wondering how it's calculated. 9DPO is way too early to feel defeated! Don't let your mind trick you... Maybe you'll be out or maybe you'll get a BFP, either way nothing that happens at 9DPO is going to tell you either way.

I'm CD10, that magical time of the month where I need to decide when to start OPKs... Weighing up the cost vs "what if I ovulate early this month". Last couple of months I haven't had a real positive with OPKs (though sure I did ovulate, just missed the peak). Think I will start on CD13 or thereabouts.

Feeling positive again for this cycle. But each cycle the time seems to go slower and slower!
