Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

I do like the look of this though but pretty sure it's just my standard pre AF rise.

Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5
LS2020 · 24/02/2021 14:50

@Fran2020 glad to hear tests went ok and good RHR! How was the hycosy I’m a bit nervous for mine whenever they restart?
I freaked myself reading about IVF (as I hate injections) so I would recommend leaving that thought for when you get there!!

Fran2020 · 24/02/2021 15:05

@LS2020 thank you! I took paracetamol about an hour before the hycosy and actually found it less painful than the HSG. It's not too bad though and I found it really interesting to look at the ultrasound as the consultant was doing it! Try not to worry (I know that's easier said than done!!). Did they say when they might re-start? I got fed up waiting and wanted to move it forward so went private. It was good that the private consultant is also my nhs consultant!
Awww yeah, good idea! Will definitely leave my research until it's actually going to happen. I don't mind injections but injecting myself?! 😬

LS2020 · 24/02/2021 15:16

@Fran2020 ooh that’s interesting - I assumed the HSG was painfree so actually had been looking at paying for that private rather than the warning I’d been given on the Hycosy!
No I rang today and no updates. they said it’s because staff are on Covid wards rather than lockdown related so there’s not really a timeline yet. If I want to pay private, I have to do a HSG as they don’t do Hycosy private but it was nearly £500 and not fully convinced it’s going to find anything. I’ve got day 3 bloods this month and my internal scan so thought that will keep me going through March and if they not started in April, I’ll pay.

I know I don’t know people do it?! I also do not trust my OH to do it either - we said it might have to be a tranq dart job 😂😂

Juno231 · 24/02/2021 15:24

@ls2020 ah yeah the hsg is meant to be pretty painful if unlucky! Some ladies don't feel any more than they would during a pap smear though.

@fran2020 lovely to see you again! glad to hear your tubes are clear! may I ask how come you had both hsg and hycosy done? I thought they did the exact same thing?

OP posts:
Fran2020 · 24/02/2021 15:31

@LS2020 My HSG was definitely not pain free, at one point I thought I was going to pass out. But I usually have quite a high pain threshold, it was strange! But the HSG showed one blocked tube and on research it said it could hurt more if that was the case. Think it seems to be different for everyone though.
Ah, that's frustrating, I really hope they start up again soon. It's good you have the blood tests and scan arranged though.
Hahaha nope! My other half says that he wouldn't do it!! Tranq dart sounds like a good idea!! 😂

@Juno231 hi, how are you? I booked the HSG off my own back due to nothing happening at the time nhs wise. Then after a consultation with the nhs fertility consultant she said a hycosy would be better as it also allows your uterus to be checked (all the HSG looked at was tubes). I thought they were the same too! The hycosy was interesting as she could see all the follicles and polyp.

Moominmiss · 24/02/2021 16:17
@Moominmiss lovely to hear from you ☺️. I am doing ok thank you, still struggling with pretty bad nausea and sickness. I can’t eat really. Just small bits here and there. I’m 11 weeks tomorrow going by first scan. My scan is on the 8th March, so not long to wait. I’m so desperate for another scan but OH says no 😱. I am so pleased to hear that baby is growing well, must be amazing seeing them grow and change 😍. There’s always an element of worry when it comes to a scan. I’m so worried for mine. Hope booking appointment goes well. My midwife is the same lady I had with my DS! Not that you see them much 🤣. Sorry to hear you are also struggling with nausea, I totally feel you on that. I just want to eat, I’m so hungry but as soon as I eat I’m so sick. Never heard of the SAFE nipt will have a read, how exciting find out the sex! Fingers crossed all comes back low risk. Lovely to have a bump already ❤️, I can see my uterus when I suck in. Think I will definitely show earlier this time. This will be my third! Hope it goes well with telling your boss ☺️. Are you on any groups on here? Xx

@LarasMama ahhh hello lovely ☺️. I’m glad you are doing well. How’s DD? I’m ok thank you, just sick 🤣. 11 weeks tomorrow! Oh boo, I’m sorry to hear that. Frustrating!! Can definitely see the difference in your charts. Have you ever ovulated that early before? Hopefully you can find out what’s going on at your appointment. It’s nearly March now ☺️.
Oh goodness, sorry to hear you’re still suffering badly with the sickness. It’s awful. I can go from being ravenous and wanting to eat everything in sight, to feeling sick to my stomach at the mere thought of food!!
Oh wow, it’s really not long until you’re scan, I’m very jealous.
It’s definitely been amazing to see the huge changes between each scan, but no matter how great the last scan was I’m still as nervous each time. I still can’t allow myself to believe that this is going to be ok. There are just so many awful stories on the pregnancy board of women who saw heartbeats, great scans etc only due things to go wrong later on. I am trying to keep those thoughts out of my head though.
I want to get the booking appointment done now as for me that will be another mini milestone to get past that I didn’t get to before. It’s the same midwife I had with my first miscarriage, she’s lovely so should all be ok.
Well until I started researching the different nipt tests this week I had no idea there was anything other than harmony, but having something hours upon hours trawling the internet, they actually offer harmony, SAFE or panorama. I’m opting for the SAFE. Was close to choosing panorama but the SAFE is the recommended test for women with a higher bmi and while mine is on the cusp of being too high I’d rather not risk a no result being returned. If I can get the ok from that test I think I will let myself start enjoying things a little more.
I definitely show quicker now than I did with my first or second!
So I think I’ve joined a couple of threads over on the pregnancy boards but there’s a few with similar names and I always forget which ones I’m part of, and then by the time I read one, I’m so far behind and there’s so much to catch up on.
Are you on any?

LS2020 · 24/02/2021 17:33

@Juno231 I thought it was an x ray so was just outside your body! Clearly misunderstood- think I might wait for my Hycosy then 😂

@Fran2020 oh my gosh did you tell them? So do they think the blocked tube was actually the polyp? It’s weird how they’ve shown slightly different results for you but good you had both in the end.

TTC2021x · 24/02/2021 19:13

BFN / CD23 so I'm confident that's me out this month! 😣

GlassLily · 24/02/2021 20:54

@TTC2021x CD23? Do you have a short cycle? That seems way too early to test in a 28 day cycle!

My RHR has dropped again, so I'm assuming I am out this month. So looks like that dip at 8DPO wasn't implantation at all!

Juno231 · 24/02/2021 21:02

@Ttcin2021 I agree with @GlassLily !

@LS2020 aaah I see! Yeah I'm afraid they do the xrays in conjuction with dye being injected through the tubes.

LarasMama · 24/02/2021 21:15

@mumof23188 Wow 11 weeks! How exciting.
I'm sorry to hear that you're still dealing with nausea but I'm sure it'll get better in a few weeks. At least that's how it was for me. By week 14 it was pretty much gone.
DD is doing well, she'll turn 2 in March and has made such progress in her language lately. I guess it's a developmental leap. How are dc? How is it having a toddler and being pregnant? Must be exhausting at times.

My appointment is next week. I will ask to have hormone levels checked as I'm now thinking it must be an estrogen issue (hardly any fertile cm # early ovulation) since I never ovulated this early before. DD was conceived when I ovulated on CD 11. Generally ovulation has been on CD12-14 postpartum, but ever since my daughter was sick around christmas and nursed so much my cycle has been acting crazy.

@Juno231Unfortunately I also had ovulation cramps and RHR is now going down. We only dtd once the night before ovulation with hardly any fertile cm. I think I'm out this month and worried my lp will be super short with spotting again.
How are you doing? I Hope you're doing well!

Fran2020 · 24/02/2021 21:18

@LS2020 yeah I did tell them! The nurse was feeding me water through a straw 😂🙈 I felt so silly!! No I don't think so, think the polyp is somewhere else. The consultant says that sometimes the polyps can come out after heavy periods. So another after scan my next period would be good. Well not having my next period would be even better!!

@TTC2021x how long are your cycles?

TTC2021x · 24/02/2021 21:21

My cycle is normal 26/27 days long. I just don't think it's my month

GlassLily · 25/02/2021 06:48

Any updates @gezelligheid? I'm sure I'm out this month so now I'm just hoping for a BFP for you!

gezelligheid · 25/02/2021 09:28

Not even a hint of a line today guys plus my RHR has dropped two beats so AF will be coming tomorrow or the day after I think :( onto the next month!

GlassLily · 25/02/2021 09:54

Oh no @gezelligheid sorry to hear that. Your RHR had all of us well and truly trolled there. Here's to the next cycle!

gezelligheid · 25/02/2021 10:03

It would have been an incredible testament to the theory if I'd got my BFP but unfortunately my body is just keeping me on my toes 😅 not out til AF shows but still, I definitely think she's coming now I've dipped 🥴

LS2020 · 25/02/2021 18:48

Aww @gezelligheid sorry to hear that. My AF showed up 3 days early again and now can’t have my bloods done as over a weekend and working all day Monday 😩

TTC2021x · 25/02/2021 20:01

Still BFN for me too ... ahhh never mind. Hope you're all ok ladies xx

Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5
GlassLily · 26/02/2021 00:04

@TTC2021x how many DPO? It's never easy seeing a BFN, even if you are expecting it 😔 hope you're all ok.

My RHR is down again (11DPO) but I have to test this weekend anyway just to be sure, to confirm I should stop taking the progesterone. I was really hopeful this month so think it will hit me hard seeing a BFN, even though I'm fully expecting it.

mumof23188 · 26/02/2021 07:36

@Juno231 I actually had a whole day yesterday or no sickness just nausea. Long May it continue! Ahh yes we can’t wait to find out, I’m going to do a sexing scan and then a balloon filled with confetti for my DD to pop ☺️. How are you? Where are you at now? Is your HSG soon?

@Fran2020 ahh hi lovely. Nice to hear from you. Great news tubes were clear. Any signs of anything? Let’s hope for good news 🤞🤞. Crossing everything!

@LS2020 how bloody frustrating for you!! Will you have to wait til next cycle now? I’m sorry 😩

mumof23188 · 26/02/2021 07:47

@Moominmiss yes the sickness has been horrific! Not felt this bad with my previous two. Was sick with my DD and not my DS ........ wondering if baby is a girl? I keep wondering if I will ever enjoy food again, I fantasise about a delicious big meal 🤣. Yes it’s not long at all but feels like an age away. I’ve booked a scan for tomorrow as I’m just feeling so anxious and need to see baby is well. Fingers crossed! Oh wow. I had no idea there were so many, when is yours booked for? I’m just going for the standard testing they do with the NHS so will see what that comes back with. Glad your midwife is lovely ☺️. I’ve not joined any on the pregnancy boards, I agree the threads on there are tough to read sometimes. I joined a Facebook group but it’s not the same. I miss being with everyone on here. I will have a look on the boards for a September one xx

mumof23188 · 26/02/2021 07:57

@LarasMama yes I’m hoping it disappears soon 🤞. Ah wow, how lovely. My DS doesn’t say a word yet. He understands everything you say but not interested in talking. Mine are great thank you. DD is back to school on the 8th, she can’t wait. How’s lockdown in Germany now? Pregnancy with a toddler is something else 🤣. Life’s going to be crazy for a few years that’s for sure 😱😁. Not long at all until your appointment now then. Hopefully all goes well. It’s fantastic that you can get seen so soon ☺️.

@gezelligheid sorry for the BFN! That’s a massive troll chart!

@GlassLily ah I’m sorry 😞.

Sorry for the multiple posts!

GlassLily · 01/03/2021 09:37

@Fran2020 any updates on your rise? Did AF arrive?

@Juno231 how are you doing?

I've just come out of a rough couple of days - BFN then AF - but feeling more positive again now. I had a 12 day LP which is a record for me, so I'll take that as a win. Now CD2 - here we go again.
