Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 5

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@gezelligheid looking at previous cycles it doesn't normally rise until a few days before I come on. I am not due on until 28/02 so not sure why it's already jumping up!

GlassLily · 18/02/2021 20:32

@gezelligheid this happens to mine sometimes, I think it's just a glitch, the graph will be back soon! Just leave it a while, maybe "force stop" the app and it comes back eventually.

GlassLily · 18/02/2021 20:40

4DPO....very gradual rise, usually it shoots up way quicker than this. Maybe slow and steady wins the race??

AF due in 4 days and I've started dropping so I think I'm out 🥺

GlassLily · 19/02/2021 11:05

@gezelligheid for me, 4 days would be way too early to drop for AF, although not sure what is normal for you. Could just be a normal dip, or even an implantation dip! You're not out til your out.

LS2020 · 19/02/2021 11:16

@gezelligheid when I had my BFP, I dipped about 2/3bpm at 5 days before AF, stayed about same level for 2 days and then started shooting up so there’s still always time 🤞🏻

Kona84 · 19/02/2021 11:39

RHR dropped 2 beats. 5+3days and feeling even more anxious now.
I know I’ve given advice to remove the watch and not focus on it but it’s easier said than done.
Pair that with not feeling like my boobs hurt as much and I’m really anxious I’m having a miscarriage again.

@Kona84

I lost all my symptoms of sore boobs at 5/6 weeks, googled like a manic at the time because I thought I was having a miscarriage. But nope, apparently it can be because your hormones will surge on some days and not others. (Baby is fine and she is rolling about in my tummy as I type) also I'm further on but not unusual for my HR to drop by 2/3 beats daily. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about 🤞

And about 8 weeks all my symptoms came back with a vengeance and was so sick 🙈 although my boots never got back to being AS sore as they were at first.

Kona84 · 19/02/2021 12:41

@Alicespring thanks for the reassurance.

i know all i can do is wait it out- i hope mine is just a normal dip- i did get an hour of more sleep last night and ive been trying to hydrate better so maybe.

Pamparam · 20/02/2021 08:07

I posted earlier on the thread with the difference between my rhr just before abs just after birth (10bpm difference). I am a very steady 61/62bpm when not pregnant but this is my chart this month - ovulation as per OPK on approx 10th. Might be in with a chance? It never shows a clear rise like this usually and has never gone as high as 66 in non pregnant times (except for when I had suspected Covid!)

11dpo now and my RHR has started rising again after a 2bpm dip yesterday. I'm having some cramps though, very light ones, so I dunno. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

gezelligheid · 20/02/2021 10:24

A copy of my chart. AF is due on Tuesday so I guess we will see if we've been successful then anyway

6dpo and my RHR looks like vampire teeth.. gave me a little chuckle 😂

@gezelligheid give it another day or two, when I got my BFP mine went up from there 😊

This is mine now, after a big jump up it has now come down and maintaining .. approx 7DPO

GlassLily · 21/02/2021 09:04

Mine has slowwwwly stepped its way up to 64bpm, am 6DPO now. 1 week to go. Not my usual pattern, which has got me thinking this is not my month (last month was the usual pattern and was a BFP).

However, I'm on progesterone this month so I assume that's affecting it - since I think that's the hormone that causes the increase in the first place?

Hi everyone,

First time posting here - I read the entire thread on Friday as my RHR has been increasing steadily since Monday and I saw that you ladies had created a thread on that very topic! Hope it's okay to post my Fitbit screenshot to see what you think?

I'm really hopeful but it's my first cycle TTC so trying not to get my hopes up too much (failing miserably mind, and switching between excitement and dread that my head is just making it all up and will be really disappointed next weekend).

Any guidance / thoughts much appreciated ☺️

Thanks so much

@HopingHare how many dpo are you? Could you mark on the chart? Anything with a big rise is generally a good sign - it needs to stay high too (small drops are fine but big drops usually precede AF)

Welcome to ttc, I am 11 months in and that feeling of excitement followed by dread (and back again) doesn't go away 🤣 I'm 6DPO and in the last hour I've gone from "definitely not this month" to "omg I'm totally pregnant" based on zero actual evidence

HopingHare · 21/02/2021 14:14

Hi @GlassLily thanks so much for your response! Sorry it’s been such a long journey for you. Crossing everything this is a good month for you 🤞🏻

Thanks for your advice. I’ve marked on the chart (terribly!) - I’m 10DPO and ovulated on the 11th Feb according to OPKs and BBT.

GlassLily · 21/02/2021 21:08

@HopingHare I think it's definitely a good sign! 10 DPO is a little early to say though, I'd keep an eye on it over the next 2-3 days and if it keeps going up then maybe test, if you're keen to. Hopefully a BFP for you - but I would also just caution that many ladies on the group have been trolled by their RHR before! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

HopingHare · 21/02/2021 21:11

Thank you @GlassLily that is definitely good to know! Trying to keep a level and sensible head. Sending loads of luck your way xxx

gezelligheid · 22/02/2021 09:22

AF due tomorrow and I've usually dipped quite far by now so fingers crossed! I woke up in the night in pain cos my nipples were so sore (I was lay on my front sleeping) but could be a sign of AF cos I tend to get sore nipples when I'm due on anyway. This really hurt though!

The past few months I start to dip about 2 days before AF and then it just keeps going down but this time it's gone up after my dip

gezelligheid · 22/02/2021 09:25

Just checked last months chart and I was at 66bpm at this point in my cycle. This month I'm at 74bpm and I don't think my RHR has ever been this high?! Like ever!

Kona84 · 22/02/2021 09:52

Trying not to spiral into full blown anxiety.
This looks so much like my chart last January when I had the miscarriage.
Around the 8th jan is when the pregnancy ended and the bleeding started on the 23rd. My boobs only stopped hurting a day or 2 before the bleeding.

This months drop is like the drop before the 8th jan

@Kona84 I don't think those look similar at all! Apart from anything the Jan 2020 drop was much bigger over a longer period of time. Plus always remember SS123456's massive drops and how she has a healthy jellybean anyway! Lots of ladies on here had big drops but remained pregnant - maybe take off the fitbit?

LS2020 · 22/02/2021 16:29

@gezelligheid your RHR looks like mine did when I got my BFP so 🤞🏻 For you.

@Kona84 I would agree on taking the Fitbit off. I agree with Juno that it’s a very different pattern and even then other people’s have had every different thing going so unfortunately there’s no well tell but can’t think worrying about will be helping any situation. Please try take care of yourself and speak to your OH so you’ve got some real world support too ❤️
