@orangeloo I still have to wait until Friday. This wait is the hardest.

Got my beta results, only 15.84. Since I'm on booster shots, it's not looking very good. I'm going back on Monday. But also already planning on more blood tests, auto immune, NK cells, etc.

orangeloo · 19/06/2021 08:51

Sorry to hear this @KatBeCool but I've still got fingers crossed for Monday. X

Hey would it be okay if I joined this thread?
1 year TTC baby no 1 also.
Feeling very drained at this point, I've had all my blood tests now, got a HSG booked in, along with an ultrasound in the next coming weeks.
Fingers crossed everything's fine 😢 TTC journey is unbelievably difficult. X

KatBeCool · 19/06/2021 15:22

@rttcbabyno1 welcome. Sometimes it seems like it is better that something wrong is found then you can actually fix it. "Unexplained" doesn't help at all.

orangeloo · 20/06/2021 08:41

Welcome @rttcbabyno1 I agree with @KatBeCool not wishing anything wrong on you of course. All diagnoses are hard but unexplained leaves you feeling a bit hopeless sometimes. Hopefully you will get there v soon or something that's easily sorted.

How's everyone doing?

My first egg collection tomorrow! 😬

KatBeCool · 01/07/2021 22:55

@MotherOfShihTzus good luck! How are your follicles looking?

I had SHG yesterday, apparently they shouldn't have scheduled it so early, CD4, so they couldn't see everything clearly because of blood still being there. So I will have to repeat that. Tomorrow I'm having HSG, dreading that as I know how much it hurts. And as life has it... I have the most follicles in my ovaries I've ever had, 15 and 11, but I'm not doing a retrieval cycle, of course.

MotherOfShihTzus · 04/07/2021 21:15

Thanks @KatBeCool it was pretty awful - I don't do well with anything internal!! Severe cramps and was rushed out with no rest / nap; was awake the whole time and felt the whole thing. Doesn't feel right, but it's done and that part over at least. Only 7 eggs - crazy given I have pcos! 6 mature and 6 fertilised; I'm hoping to be recovered enough for a fresh transfer.
How was your hsg? I hope not too painful - I don't cope well with those either! And have you had an additional shg?

KatBeCool · 04/07/2021 21:48

@MotherOfShihTzus I took diazepam before HSG and it made it completely bareable. I don't if my pain tolerance changed but there was significant difference in pain level between the first time I had it and now. Both my tubes are open uterus is shaped normal. So at least some good news. Repeating SHG on Wednesday, thankfully they were able to squeeze me in before it's too late in the cycle. Fingers crossed for no polyps and that cyst not pushing on the cavity.
So you were awake during retrieval? Oh hell no, I would freak out. Glad it's over for sure. Are you freezing on day 3 or 5? When will they tell you? Hopefully all 6 make it to freeze! I don't want any surgeries.

MotherOfShihTzus · 05/07/2021 11:18

Ahh glad that the hsg was so much more bearable @KatBeCool have everything crossed fir you for Wednesday :)

Got the call this morning; all 6 have made it to day 3 and dividing well at either 7, 8, or 9 cells - so it will be a day 5 transfer for me on Wednesday. She said they were all top grade at 3s and 4s so far (though I believe 3s to be just ok?!).

Yes the whole egg collection and the pain afterwards was pretty traumatic and a bit of a shock - can't help feeling this wouldn't have happened had we gone private...

KatBeCool · 05/07/2021 16:09

@MotherOfShihTzus so they did this conscious sedation thing? I was fully under anaesthesia. I know due to covid some places opted out of doing that, but now that things are better and many people have vaccines, they should've gone back.
For the quality, 4 is considered excellent and 3 is good. It's more common to have 3s and 4s are usually more rare. 4 means zero fragmentation which almost never happens. Some places consider up to 10% fragmentation as still a 4 though. The implantation rate for both 3 and 4 is the same. But either way sounds like you have some great quality embryos. Are you doing fresh transfer?

MotherOfShihTzus · 07/07/2021 10:02

Yep @KatBeCool conscious sedation only it it didn't work! Didn't give me enough as they needed me out to get the next one in - heard them chatting behind the curtain.

Just the 2 embryos today, transferring 1 just before midday. I hope they are gentle with the speculum!

Good luck with the shg today!

KatBeCool · 07/07/2021 20:46

@MotherOfShihTzus so out of all the eggs you have two? Fingers crossed for you, as they say, it takes only one!
I had my SHG today, and I have a pristine uterus! The cyst is on the outer side so it doesn't affect anything.

On the other hand, some of my blood test results came in, and I have both MTHFR mutations. So I need to up my folic acid and B12. At least it's an easy fix. My homocysteine levels are within normal range, which is what MTHFR affects, so I suppose I'm doing something right. And it looks like it's beneficial to take both folate and folic acid, not just one or the other.

MotherOfShihTzus · 14/07/2021 10:23

@KatBeCool good news on the pristine uterus! And as you say - easy fix to increase vitamins. Do you have a view as to when you might go again?

I'm 7dp5dt; Herat rate has increased which got me excited! But could well be the stress of everything! Getting hot flushes but the weather has picked up, so no real symptoms

KatBeCool · 14/07/2021 10:33

@MotherOfShihTzus I'm basically waiting for AF to start, but I haven't even ovulated this cycle yet, so we're taking at least 4 weeks.
Are you not testing at home? Fingers crossed for you!

MotherOfShihTzus · 14/07/2021 11:47

@KatBeCool that's good - some time for the additional supplements to take effect at least :)

Well OTD is a week away! But have convinced the other half to test tomorrow am, because if it is actually good news, we would need to get my next intralipids booked in next week otherwise it won't be within the 4 weeks it should be! They are very busy so worried about getting the appt if I leave it too long. Got to have hope!

I'm starving today when I haven't had much of an appetite; is this a potential symptom? Or just pmt?!

KatBeCool · 20/07/2021 22:38

@MotherOfShihTzus did you test yet?

MotherOfShihTzus · 21/07/2021 07:58

@KatBeCool we have and it was positive Shock we are desperately hoping it sticks, but never had a positive test in the whole 3 1/2 + yrs of ttc so enjoying it whilst we can as you never know.

How are you getting on? Did ovulation happen?

KatBeCool · 21/07/2021 08:05

@MotherOfShihTzus congratulations! Have you had your blood test yet?
I finally got a positive opk yesterday on my last test. Maybe we'll get lucky this month although it's now cd24 which is super late for me to ovulate. Otherwise we'll be doing another transfer in August.

MotherOfShihTzus · 21/07/2021 09:14

@KatBeCool no bloods yet - I'm not sure I'll get them tbh; I'm nhs and my clinic haven't tested me once through the process! I am awaiting a callback today about viability scan appt at 6 weeks.

That is late - but maybe it's extra time for those eggs to develop :) hoping this is your month too!

Do you think the heat could be affecting your cycle? It's unbearably hot here and I worry it's detrimental but nothing we can really do about it!
