@starkid I have everything crossed for you! No period symptoms is good I'm sure :)

I'm just a bit behind @KatBeCool and @orangeloo I think; regulating cycle, stims from circa June 23rd, and egg collection provisionally booked for week starting 5th July. I have PCOS though so could end up with a freeze all cos of ohss- but hoping for a fresh transfer! All getting very real now!

What meds has everyone been on? I'll be starting with norethisterone to control cycle, then on bemfola, fragmin then cetrotide before trigger

KatBeCool · 26/05/2021 16:02

@MotherOfShihTzus I didn't do any down regulating, it didn't make any difference the first time anyway. But other than that, gonal, low dose hcg (instead of menopur), and Cetrotide, then lupron trigger. Pretty standard. Day of trigger my estradiol was 3044, so that immediately put me out of the fresh transfer loop. It almost feels like they didn't collect a few eggs. I hear sometimes they stick to follicle walls and they can't collect them.

@starkid I don't even know how you still have patience to just wait for beta. But no AF symptoms is definitely a good thing!

starkid · 26/05/2021 17:32

@KatBeCool - being currently away on a mini
UK break is helping distract me!! When I'm back at the weekend will be a different matter haha

@MotherOfShihTzus - I've been on buserelin for down regging, then progynova estrogen tablets and crinone progesterone vaginal gel.

starkid · 29/05/2021 06:27

I was feeling sick, tired and light headed all yesterday so caved and took a test this morning and it was a bfn 😔 it was a cheap brand called Freedom which looking at the reviews is known for giving false positives, but mine definitely wasn't positive, so I'll just leave it now till my blood test Tuesday 🤷

KatBeCool · 29/05/2021 07:25

@starkid don't get discouraged. Sometimes you don't get a positive until a few days after feeling sick. Hopefully there are good news for you.

I just had my baseline appointment for the transfer cycle, so levels are good and everything is a go.

Did any of you get the covid vaccine? I read plus overheard women talk about irregular periods after getting the vaccine. I then asked the woman doing my ultrasound since she was one of the head doctors in the clinic if she has been seeing anything in her patients and she said that all sorts of odd things are happening, even menopausal women are starting to bleed again. I did have one very short cycle (24 days) when I got my first dose, then I ovulated later on the next cycle around the second dose. I'm a bit concerned if it affected my eggs now.

starkid · 29/05/2021 07:31

@KatBeCool my vaccine is booked in for Friday. Glad your ready to get started with your cycle now 😊

KatBeCool · 29/05/2021 07:44

@starkid uff, are you sure you want to get the vaccine when possibly (hopefully) pregnant? Seeing what effect it has on hormones, I'm now skeptical. I get why you want it, it's the same reason I got mine, but after talking to that Dr, I am concerned. Personally, if you are proven pregnant next week after your test, I would delay the vaccine for a couple of months until your baby is bigger and stronger. It almost sounds like I'm talking conspiracy theory here, but after seeing my own cycles and hormones showing signs of irregularity or going off the charts (which is why I couldn't do fresh transfer), plus then hearing it from the specialist who's seen hundreds of women, I can't deny that something is suspicious.

starkid · 29/05/2021 07:47

@KatBeCool yeah I might delay it if it's positive, so guess we'll see 😬

orangeloo · 31/05/2021 13:52

Hey all. Been MIA as being back at work full time has made me busy 😑. I'm due transfer the end of this week. Excited and a little nervous.

@Katbekool Glad to hear you have your 6 in the freezer and all looking good for transfer. I haven't had the vaccine and I won't for now. I'm by no means anti covid vax. I dont don't feel I need it and definitely don't need to add to my medical and fertility issues atm. Interesting to hear it changed your periods and what the doc said.

@starkid I have everything crossed for you that you get a positive.

Glad you've started @MotherOfShihTzus hope you are getting on okay.

@orangeloo - good luck with your transfer this week :)

KatBeCool · 31/05/2021 15:24

@orangeloo good luck with your transfer. It goes so fast and it's very uneventful lol.

starkid · 01/06/2021 12:32

Hey everyone, had my blood test today and it was negative, so end of the road in terms of NHS IVf rounds and no other embryos in the freezer, so back to square one. Feel very flat.

KatBeCool · 01/06/2021 14:44

@starkid so sorry to hear that. It'll happen for you, just too bad you now have to pay for it yourself. Are you taking a break or going to dive back in right away?

MotherOfShihTzus · 06/06/2021 18:53

@starkid so sorry to hear that, I know there's nothing much we can say that helps. Will there be learnings from this cycle at least?

@orangeloo how did transfer go?

@KatBeCool when's yours due?

KatBeCool · 06/06/2021 19:05

@MotherOfShihTzus transfer is tomorrow! How are you doing?

MotherOfShihTzus · 06/06/2021 21:10

@KatBeCool how exciting! Best of luck :)

I'm just waiting really, start norethisterone on Wednesday!

KatBeCool · 10/06/2021 22:05

@orangeloo have you had your transfer yet? How did it go?

@starkid what are your next steps? Are you able to continue with private?

I had my transfer on Monday. I certainly lied when I said to expect "uneventful". It was plenty eventful. First, my blood pressure was 148/96 while it's always no more than 120/80. I don't even know why. Then they tried to insert the IV for the Intralipid, and the nurses jacket got caught on the line when she was reaching for tape. The thing flew out of my vein like a champagne cork. Blood on the wall, etc etc. So I forever left my mark in that clinic. Thankfully she was able to reinsert it. Then, as I'm all tied up to hoses they ask me undress as I can barely bend my arm, you'd think it'd be other other way around, undress first, then IV. Then nurse comes in, inserts speculum, says she can't find my cervix. How???? So actual doctor came in, gave her a wtf look, did it himself found cervix. While he was poking around with speculum and doing the cleaning, they decided it's time to take my blood pressure again. Seriously. One thing at a time, please! I didn't know what area of my body I needed to concentrate on. Once it was confirmed embryos are in, they all shouted (no joke, shouted) "Get pregnant!!!". I almost fell off the bed from not expecting it. But now we wait. I refused to do progesterone suppositories, so it's injections only for me. Double dose. My butt is so sore.

starkid · 11/06/2021 11:04

@KatBeCool - wow that must have been stressful for you, I'm sorry there was so much drama! Fingers crossed it behaves for the next 2 weeks.

I had a consultation with the doctor this morning following the failed IVF, and we've been put on the August waiting list for another long protocol go, private this time. Before then and as part of the previous treatment (and therefore still on the NHS) I'll have another ultrasound and a blood test to double-check the fluid on my last scans isn't anything dodgy, and perhaps another dye test too.
So these next 2 cycles we'll be giving it our all again to try and get pregnant naturally!

orangeloo · 11/06/2021 11:52

@starkid sorry it did not work out for you. Hope you get some positive steps to move forward with.

@KatBeCool gosh that is eventful and stressful FX it will be part of your final story.

My transfer went great and I felt great for a couple of days then a bit of spotting and just the tww in general is hard. Don't have a great feeling. Feel quite up and down but I've actually coped better than I thought. So far anyway...... will test one day before OTD as partner is going away and not sure I can last longer.

@MotherOfShihTzus glad it's starting for you

Oh my gosh - @KatBeCool what an ordeal!! Hopefully it will all be worth it :)

@starkid good to get straight back onto the list - and the chance of natural is always good :) maybe the hormones from this cycle will have a positive impact, and good to get those additional tests done to put your mind at ease.

@orangeloo fingers crossed for you! Spotting is a good sign :)

KatBeCool · 15/06/2021 06:48

@orangeloo I just saw your news in the other thread, huge congratulations! So thrilled for you! Have you had your blood test yet?

orangeloo · 15/06/2021 07:46

Thank you @KatBeCool 😀 I can't believe it never had a BFP ever. Today is OTD. I did the HPT they gave me today, I don't know if they they do blood tests but I think I'm going to ask for one for reassurance it doesn't seem at all. But I am over the moon.

How are you getting on?
