Yes 60mg. I keep forgetting to take them 🤣🤣 best remember now. And get the actual pregnancy ones not conception!
Good luck with your early scan ☺️☺️

KatBeCool · 04/01/2022 15:03

@starkid apparently they recommend 300-400 mg of magnesium when pregnant. Nobody ever told me. I stumbled upon a review for some multivitamins and a woman mentioned taking extra magnesium. I did some research and sure enough, you need to take extra.

FlapJackered · 04/01/2022 20:06

Ahhhhhh!!! Just had a notification come through my emails and so glad I checked the thread! HUGE congratulations to you both @KatBeCool and @starkid ! 🥳👏🎉
I am over the moon for you! I have been routing for you both and keeping everything crossed!
I had no symptoms either and worried so much about it. I also had high HCG too @starkid but no twins 👯‍♀️
Best of luck for tomorrow @KatBeCool xx

starkid · 04/01/2022 20:37

@FlapJackered - ah that's slightly reassuring then as would prefer just the one haha

MotherOfShihTzus · 04/01/2022 22:23

Oh my gosh!! Massive congratulations @starkid !!! What lovely news, everyone pregnant/ or had their babies!!

Not finding out sex til birth :) what will you do?!

starkid · 04/01/2022 22:27

Knowing me I'll say I won't find out the sex, then will get too excited and ask right away 🤣 maybe keep it a secret from everyone else till birth though? Basically I'm rubbish at secrets, I've told loads of people I'm pregnant already as they're the same people I'd tell if I had a miscarriage so 🤷 I'm an open book!

KatBeCool · 06/01/2022 18:45

@starkid are you doing to repeat beta to make sure it's rising properly?

@FlapJackered so great to hear from you! You trying for #2 yet? What was your first beta? I'm feeling so inadequate with only 57 at 10dp3dt.

I had my scan yesterday, they saw only the gestational sac which measured 5w4d, since I was 5w5d according to calendar, it's a good measurement. My hcg was 3844. It's doubled every 2.6 days since my last beta. But it also corresponds to why they couldn't see anything but the gestational sac. They say the average hcg for yolk sac is 7200. My next scan is on the 19th.

I'm going to find out baby sex as soon as it's possible. We're going to do the genetic testing at 12 weeks, it comes with revealing the sex, and I will be way too impatient to even make it through that wait, let alone for the surprise at birth.

starkid · 06/01/2022 19:06

@KatBeCool - congrats on your scan! As you said it's early days to be able to see much. Glad to hear your hcg is doubling well :) Be good to have another scan later down the line though, will still be before my first scan on 25th!

I rang the clinic and they said they don't generally keep retesting it unless you're borderline or have bleeding etc. in the meantime. So due to my numbers being so high they wouldn't offer it. I retested on a cheap stick yesterday and my line was darker, and I'll do another digital one tomorrow to see if it now says 3 weeks+ :)

FlapJackered · 06/01/2022 19:35

@KatBeCool I can't remember the figure now, I will try and dig it out! I remember them saying it was high though and people were telling me it was twins!
That is so great the scan went well and you're measuring correctly! So excited for you!!
We are actually going to start trying for number 2 in March! 😬 We are just doing a bit of a detox and starting supplements etc now. I feel the dread a bit starting ttc again, almost tempted to go straight for IVF again if it wasn't for the 💰. I feel so lucky to have my son though so definitely the pressure is off.

@starkid that's very restrained on keeping it a surprise👏 ! Our plan was not to find out but then we had a bit of a Down syndrome scare and we had the harmony scan and couldn't resist finding out, also the sonographer kept on saying 'he' 🤦‍♀️.

starkid · 06/01/2022 21:00

@FlapJackered naughty sonographer! :P

So I'm guessing a teeny bit of spotting around the 5 week mark is normal...? I had some a week or so ago but nothing since then, I just had some when doing the crinone gel and my stomach feels a bit unsettled :(

...and so the madness begins!

KatBeCool · 07/01/2022 23:05

@starkid I just had some spotting now, I'm exactly 6w today. Hopefully it's nothing serious. I am cramping a little but it's barely noticeable.

starkid · 08/01/2022 14:27

@KatBeCool - Oh we're only 6 days apart then, how exciting! I'm 5 weeks 2 days today :) I had slight cramping too but only old blood mixed with crinone gel since (gross). And seem to have an unsettled stomach at bedtime each night but nothing major.

By the way, was your early scan/is your next scan vaginal or over the abdomen? My appointment letter doesn't say - I'll ring and ask nearer the time just so I know if it's full bladder or not!

KatBeCool · 08/01/2022 14:56

@starkid it was vaginal. They wouldn't be able to see anything on the abdominal. From what I understand, 8-week scan is abdominal but if they can't find heartbeat, they go "in".
I take a pre-/probiotics supplement to, hopefully, keep any stomach problems away, especially nausea. I hope it's working lol. But I'm certainly not constipated.

starkid · 08/01/2022 15:02

@KatBeCool - with ulcerative colitis and a stoma that's not generally a problem for me haha!

Ok cool, thanks for the info

starkid · 10/01/2022 14:03

@KatBeCool - how are you feeling now?
My constant low-level nausea has decided to last all day and night now rather than just in the evening. It's pretty miserable!! Apart from that, am quite tired and thirsty, and that's about it.

Just had my doctor's surgery call to ask me to self-refer myself to the local midwives, so I guess my clinic contacted them about the positive test. Ahhh can't wait for a first appointment!

KatBeCool · 10/01/2022 14:10

@starkid spotting is completely gone. Whatever that was about. But now nausea shows up here and there. I get out of breath from pretty much anything now other than doing basic things. Hopefully your nausea goes away!

starkid · 25/01/2022 09:54

Oh god it's twins

KatBeCool · 25/01/2022 16:05

@starkid twins is great! Congratulations!

I never got to see a heartbeat, or anything more than a gestational sac, anembrionic pregnancy (blighted ovum) for me and I'm literally right now starting to miscarry. Devastated doesn't describe it.

starkid · 25/01/2022 16:08

@KatBeCool oh god I'm so sorry, I thought everything was good for you :( I can't begin to imagine how awful you feel. I'm very sorry.

I'm so sorry coming on here saying I'm having two now, what a greedy cow I am!

KatBeCool · 25/01/2022 16:15

@starkid don't feel bad. You didn't cause what happened to me. I am happy for you, truly. Are they identical? Or both embryos implanted?

I thought everything was great too, until I went for the ultrasound last week. It was on the big monitor above me and I knew right away when I saw the empty sac, they didn't even have to say anything.

starkid · 25/01/2022 16:28

How horrible for you to have to see that right away too :(

I won't put the scan pic up as that's insensitive, but they're both in their own sacs so presumably was both embryos implanting

cupcakesandglitter · 16/09/2022 19:10

Hi ladies. I just thought I'd check in to see how you're all doing as it's been quiet on here - I've kept following just to see how you're all getting on!

KatBeCool · 16/09/2022 20:27

@cupcakesandglitter no good news ever for me. I had another retrieval in May, all embryos were tested abnormal. I have donor egg embryos now. First transfer failed. There's a mysterious cyst in my uterus, I'll find out tomorrow if it's gotten smaller after two weeks of bc. I did every possible test, there's a bit of inflammation, very minor, but still had to take mounds of pills to get rid of everything due to previous losses and failures. With any luck, I'll get to transfer again soon. One might wonder how I'm still surviving.

starkid · 17/09/2022 00:08

@cupcakesandglitter my twin boys are now 7 weeks old.
They were born 6 weeks early due to twin 1 slowing down in growth, and he was 3lb2 when born and twin 2 was 4lb6. They're both around 6lb9 now and doing great 🥰🥰
They're called Jasper and Xander.

Very thankful for my 4th round of IVF working, and still holding hope for you @KatBeCool , you've been through too much xx

starkid · 17/09/2022 00:09

Also, they're definitely not identical - very different in looks, habits, preferences and personalities 👶👶
