TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

Just tested and got my confirmation. How do you use opks? I'll get some tomorrow.

I'll be 10dpo tomorrow so going to do a FRER...I got a positive for my CP then so if it's negative I can start to mentally prepare for AF.

@Mishmased They all vary so you’re best to use the instructions on the specific ones you have!

@Rumples Good luck tomorrow, I’m also going to use a FRER in the AM. I just have a bad feeling though.. had AF type ache all day x

I’ve been ttc for 3 months and I’ve Just had my 3rd chemical. Each time I get symptoms and a faint positive which then goes negative basically the next day.
I called the doctor and was told they’d investigate after 12 months of trying.
I feel like it’s never going to happen there must be something wrong with me to have 3 😢

@Mishmased Thank you. I thought so too but I guess he’s not classing it as Miscarriage because it’s so early. I don’t know I just feel really sad this time.

Oh no @Turtley I’m so sorry. I’m in cycle 3 and terrified of this ending in chemical too, that would be my third too

I’d call again and say it’s not the fertility clinic you need (which is after 12 months) it’s the recurrent miscarriage clinic which is after 3 losses

I’ve been referred after 2! But I do have other things going on - short luteul phase, blood clotting disorder x

@Boc86 I really hope you get your bfp! What cd are you on?
I may call again I don’t think I could stand another one.
I have 2 children youngest is 8 now though so he just said since I have children already it’s highly likely I’ll conceive again, not making me feel much better at the moment though.
I was so young and so not ready and in a horrible horrible ‘relationship’ with their father now I’m happily married and desperate for a baby With someone that actually loves me

@Turtley I’m sorry for your losses. That definitely doesn’t seem right that they won’t see you. My specialist made it very clear that a chemical is still very much a miscarriage! I have been seen after 1 miscarriage and 1 chemical (as also have irregular cycles) and have now been put on meds to help me. Keep pushing til you get the help you need! Good luck ❤️

BFN on a FRER this morning! Stupid CB test. Really hope AF shows soon then 😔

I decided not to test, I woke up with period like cramps and just know that she's going to appear. Trying to not let it get me down.

@Turtley sorry to hear about your 3 CP's...must be so rough to have one after the other. Waiting 12 months seems really unfair considering it keeps happening.

@Littlebee1990 I would still say your not out until AF shows.
I woke up today and my symptoms seem to have gone. I am certain this pregnancy is going already 😞 I bought some clear blue tests and got a very faint positive vs very strong positive on first response. I have read symptoms can fluctuate but I just have an awful feeling xxx

@SMB20 I feel the same. My boobs don’t feel sore today so I did a clear blue and a clear blue digital, the early response clear blue Is so faint it’s almost negative but the digital said pregnant 1-2 whereas that was negative 2 days ago! Am so confused and certain I’ll have another chemical/mc 😞

Oh ladies I know I’ll feel exactly the same as both you when I do eventually get a BFP. All I can say is right now you are pregnant and the tests are showing that, nothing you can do right now can give you anymore reassurance. Just looks after yourselves and hope time passes quickly, I’m sending lots of the sticky baby dust over your way!

@EDW1 I think if 2 days ago it said negative and now it says 1-2 weeks that’s a good sign as it means your hcg levels are increasing which they wouldn’t if you were having a chemical!

@Littlebee1990 thank you 💖 I’m going to end up spending all my wages on pregnancy tests at this rate. I wish the time would pass by now so I could just know if it’s not going to stay xxx

@SMB20 just odd that the other test was so much fainter in comparison to the ones I did 2 days ago.... but yes am hoping the digital is a good sign. After 2 losses I just can’t help but imagine the worst ☹️ Hope you’re ok xx

I know 😞 I am with you! My clear blue test was almost negative but I’ve heard because they’re not as reliable. I do remember with my daughter doing about 5 different tests because the clear blue ones I did were so faint and that was at about 5 weeks.

Dr google tells me symptoms can fluctuate because hcg increases every few days so it’s quite common to come and go. I really do hope it sticks for both of us 💖 it’s a very stressful time xxx

@Boc86 oh wow your situation is so much like mine. My eldest ate 8 and 11 and were conceived first go. So frustrating.
I will keep an eye out for your BFP! 🤞

Hi lovely ladies, I hope you don't mind me jumping on here. I had a chemical pregnancy 2 cycles ago, and until it happened to me, I had no idea what it was. It was devastating to have found out I was pregnant and then lose it a few days later. My husband and I gave ourselves a break last month, but we have tried to conceive this month, and I am a few days past ovulation now. I'm getting so worried again about the same thing happening to me- can I ask when is the best time to take a pregnancy test, is there anything I can do to feel less stressed and worried about it? Hi @irwine! I got a positive on a frer and 10dpo. As far as staying calm goes I am useless and impatient! On one of my other groups somebody rather bluntly pointed out- but it’s diss help me otherwise I wouldn’t share- that even the most fertile of couples only have a 20% of actually conceiving even if they do everything on the right day(s) etc. Harsh but true! It made me feel less anxious but I was still inpatient xx good luck to you xx
