TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

@HollowayL30 I’m so sorry, it’s heartbreaking. Day 1 of the bleed would be the start of the new cycle.

This will be our first child so have nothing to compare any “symptoms” too.. going to hold out until mid week to test. Just fear a BFN so a few more days of hope it is 🤞🏼

I’ve just had a negative on a clear blue digital! Tomorrow morning to test again seems like a lifetime away 😬

@HollowayL30 so sorry for your loss. You can start trying straight away of bleeding stopped and you’re ready ❤️ Good luck x

@EDW1 I think 11DPO will be too early for a digital. They say to use them after AF date passed! xx

Hello ladies, I've just had a chemical pregnancy. I started bleeding Thursday and it's slowly stopping today. Is it safe to try again this month? It was our first month of trying after having my coil out last month, so I'm grateful it happened quickly but not to disheartened due to the fact it is the first time trying and knowing I've only just had my coil out. Has anyone tried so early after? Do I count this bleed as my period? Thanks for any advice 😀 X

I will be trying right away , bleeding stopped last Saturday I think - I was on night shifts the days all merge into one!

Did an ovulation stick yesterday and it's getting a line so hopefully that's means it's on track like normal

Thanks @Littlebee1990 I’ll definitely wait. I’ve just done another frer and there’s still a line so the test isn’t faulty thank goodness. Now for the long wait! X

Having a really meh day today about TTC 😔 CD34 & 9DPO.. on my usual 28 day cycles I should’ve had a BFP or AF over and done with by now. Long cycles are really really hard. This is going to be around 40 days, it really really messes with your head.. of course I want nothing more than to see a BFP at the end of this week but also hope if I’m not pregnant that AF shows promptly so I can reset and go again. Never thought I’d be thinking about cycle 5.. so naive to think it’d happen quickly. Pure admiration for all of you with long cycles and also trying for much longer, feel like such a d*ck moaning but as supportive as my amazing partner is.. it’s just nice to have a meh moment to everyone else who totally gets it.

@Littlebee1990 I can truly sympathise 😩 I have pcos so sometimes only have 1-3 long bleeds a year! And the wait is a killer. I just try to keep really really busy seeing friends and family otherwise it’s literally all I think about. Am hoping you get your positive soon. When are you going to test? Xx

I had a chemical in June and one in July :(
I feel like that’s all I’ll have now and it’s terrifying to keep trying
I know you shouldn’t test early however I think it’s better to know if you’re having repeated chemicals
My doctor is being great and has ordered bloods, spoken to haematology about me starting blood thinners during ttc (I have a blood clotting disorder) he’s calling me today with the outcome of that and I’ll ask for cd21 bloods for progesterone - I have a 10 day luteul phase so could be that causing the chemicals
I’m also seed cycling, on seven seas trying for a baby tablets, vit c, vit b6 and baby aspirin in case it’s the blood clotting disorder

Ugh this is truly awful, I have 2 children and had zero problems conceiving them and holding onto their pregnancies, I just didn’t foresee this at all :(

Same here. Two textbook pregnancies and babies born at 41 and 42 weeks. Fast forward to 7 years later bfp July 15 and bleeding July 26. Scan confirmed loss and epu confirmed again. I'm in shock, bleeding lasted 6 days an I'm exhausted now. Really don't know what to do and it didn't help that DH wanted to stop at 2 kids but he's devastated now and has gently suggested maybe no more😭 I think during the bleeding I was able to rationalize the situation. Now it is over I'm sad I think and very weak. And scared it could happen again. Hope everyone is ok ❤️❤️❤️

I’m so sorry @Mishmased and @HollowayL30 for your losses. Life can be so cruel sometimes 😞 for me the only thing harder than trying again and risking going through repeated losses is not trying at all. I never thought it would happen to me as my pregnancy with my daughter was so straightforward. I guess nobody ever thinks it will happen to them though 😞

I woke up this morning with quite severe nausea and felt very hot and went to the toilet and there was lots of EWCM (which I’ve read can happen right before your period). I took another pregnancy test and it was a strong positive but I’ve now convinced myself this one isn’t going to stick. Does anybody know how quickly the positive fades if you are having a miscarriage? I didn’t test much last month as got my BFP and thought that was it xxx

@SMB20 I honestly don’t know but I’ve heard your discharge changes constantly during pregnancy so try not to worry yourself, perhaps call the EPU for some advice?

I just POAS.. I’m only 10DPO (I’ve heard these tests are unreliable but I couldn’t get a FRER!) I think I see a vvvvvvfl but my partner can’t. Will test again in a few days with a FRER as MN says these always give false positives 😫 Can you see what I see though? Or am I officially mad.

I’m sorry too ladies! Just horrid. Since I got my positive I think I’ve checked 1000 for blood and I’m scrutinising every thing I feel tummy wise! So annoying.

@EDW1 Bless you, it’s so scary! I can’t even imagine. Yeah I’ve ordered a FRER which is coming today so I’ll do it in the morning! Not sure it’s gonna be good news though

@EDW1 I’ll try and wait until tomorrow morning and not tonight .. I know FMU is best though! After reading more and more I think I’ll ignore the above test. Seems they’re known for false positives 😵

I must admit before I joined these groups I swore by clear blue and since my mc’s this year I’ve switched to frer! Clear blue digitals are great for later on for that extra reassurance though aren’t they. I really hope you get your pink line tomorrow morning!! I did one in the morning and one in the afternoon yesterday and weirdly my afternoon one was darker! I bought 4 though so was way too tempted! And now have the triple check clear blues in the post too! Am nuts! Are you in uk as well? X

Aah nice! I’m in West Sussex, about 50 miles south from you I think! Only asking as am on 4 groups now and most are from the states! Nice to know there’s some here too especially as same time zone when it comes to testing and being able to relate to what’s on offer medically etc ❤️ Last month I spent nearly £100 on sticks and I wasn’t even pregnant! Just the first time I’d had period symptoms! Let us know how you get on tomorrow morning. X

Just remembered I need to test to make sure I'm negative as hcg level from blood was borderline. How soon did you test?
