TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

Ugh this is the most nerve wracking worrying thing ever
Today is the day I came on last cycle so I’m terrified
My FRER are a tad darker today but the eBay cheapie is lighter and the Superdrug 25mui is about the same
I’m so so worried
I just want some days and weeks to pass to ease the worry a bit

Littlebee1990 · 13/11/2020 07:50

@Boc86 Your HCG levels would barely have doubled from yesterday, don’t panic. I know it’s awful, just try and keep distracted ❤️

@Boc86 take it easy. I tested for a few days and stopped. I didn't realize you could buy test strips to check your hcg level. One more test tomorrow and try not to do anymore as it may become counterproductive, making you nervous. Take one day at a time and don't stress.x

Mishmased · 13/11/2020 07:57

That was a suggestion 😁

Amy259 · 13/11/2020 09:41

@Boc86 god love you, I can’t imagine the stress of it. Sadly I reckon I’ll be the exact same, and I’m not really sure how you wouldn’t be - you’re bound to feel like this!! I think you’re right, the only thing will be time - once you’ve hit those milestones you didn’t before I’m sure you’ll feel better with each one. I wish there was a better answer than “we’ll just have to ride it out” but I’m not sure there’s much else for it ♥️

With your known struggles with progesterone etc will the early pregnancy unit see you any earlier than routine?

Thedot90 · 13/11/2020 11:35

Just to update - little heartbeat seen on scan today! Very happy, but aware it’s still early days. I feel relieved knowing that it’s confirmed and I’m not imagining symptoms, but know we’re not out the woods yet. Staying hopeful as we’ve gone past my first miscarriage date so keeping everything crossed it stays in there!

Amy259 · 13/11/2020 11:51

@Thedot90 the loveliest update!! So pleased for you, congratulations! How far along are you now?

Overlyanxious · 13/11/2020 12:09

Hi all, I wanted to join this thread as I had an early miscarriage in August. Just got AF so out for another month. I’m feeling more positive for next month. Up until recently I felt quite different - somehow like I was less fertile and was broken from the miscarriage. I guess that’s all part of the process.

I’m so glad to see some good news on here @Thedot90 apologies if I’ve missed other good news.

Mishmased · 13/11/2020 14:25

Great news @Thedot90 take one day at a time.
@Amy259 how're you keeping?
@Overlyanxious so sorry to see you here. We've had a few positives and hopefully next week will bring more BFP news 🤞🤞
@Boc86 @LS2020 how're you? Hope I didn't miss anyone. I'm so tired!
Happy Friday!

Thedot90 · 13/11/2020 18:04

@Amy259 thank you - I’m 6+2 (counting every day!) but had a v early scan as I’m having fertility treatment (letrozole) plus prev miscarriage, so they normally offer around 7/8 weeks as a reassurance scan, but I begged to move it forward - so pleased they were able to see the heartbeat.

@Overlyanxious welcome, I don’t think any of us will feel less anxious until there is a baby in front of you - miscarriage sometimes makes you feel like it will never happen for you, and all you see is babies everywhere! I have no words of wisdom as all I have done is worry, and I did not find it helpful when people kept telling me to “relax and it will happen”Hmm So all I can say is good luck, and stay strong!!

Boc86 · 13/11/2020 18:52

Well I panicked for no reason earlier, once dried all my tests were darker than yesterday woo!!
And I haven’t started wiping my usual brown, this was the day last month that I did so I’ve been terrified all day. Thank god I’ve wiped nothing though!
My tests are nice and dark for 11dpo even the 25mui ones
I am so so starving, tired, huge but not sore boobs

Amazing news @Thedot90 so happy for you!

Hi Ladies, I wondered if you could help, I don't understand why I've got 2 peaks on my ovulation a few days apart 🤔...what do you think? X

TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage
Boo2020 · 14/11/2020 14:04

Oh and just to note, yep I'm on CD47 😟...I don't think I ovulated at all on my last cycle hence why I've not had a period, following my miscarriage I had a light bleed for 4 days then this long ass cycle!!..I calculated my cycle was 31 days (from miscarriage to first day of light bleed) now Cd47 and I'm now in limbo but this is my first ever peak x

Amy259 · 14/11/2020 14:26

@Boo2020 I think it can indicate failed ovulation, so your body is trying again. That would be my guess. Do you confirm ov with anything - temp or heart rate etc?

Amy259 · 14/11/2020 14:30

@Boc86 that’s great news - keep us posted! Hope you’re having a nice relaxing weekend ♥️

@LS2020 how are you getting on? Any signs of anything..?

@Overlyanxious welcome - sorry youve had to end up here, but I’m glad you’re starting to feel more like yourself this month. Fingers crossed that’s a good omen.

@Thedot90 aww that’s great they brought it forward for you, so pleased you saw that little heartbeat🥰

@Mishmased hope you’re getting lots of rest this weekend!!

Boo2020 · 14/11/2020 14:38

@Amy259 I did start doing temp but stopped doing it after CD31 🙈..as I just give up this cycle thinking I'm going to have a period in the next few days...again its so frustrating x

Amy259 · 14/11/2020 14:45

@Boo2020 I feel like all I’m ever doing is waiting on something 😂 they should call it “waiting to conceive” instead of trying!

Overlyanxious · 14/11/2020 15:32

@Boo2020 @Amy259 so so fed up of waiting. I had no clue before I started ttc how much it would consume my life and that I would start living in 2 week cycles.

Boo2020 · 14/11/2020 16:13

@Amy259 i second that 😂

@overlyanxious it really does consume your life 😔 its all i think about x

Amy259 · 14/11/2020 16:17

@Overlyanxious 100%. I remember a couple of years ago a friend told me she’d started to worry because it took 4 cycles and the 3 times she got negative tests she felt quite downhearted. At the time I thought it was still super quick and was quite surprised that she was worried/it felt long - now here I am, on cycle 4 and I swear it feels like I’ve been ttc for years!!

LS2020 · 14/11/2020 17:23

@Amy259 14dpo tomorrow and completely symptomless so expecting AF to arrived on time boo! If it helps, that’s cycle 16 for me so 4 seems like a dream place to go back to 😂

LS2020 · 15/11/2020 09:21

AF arrived for me yesterday so going to take a break until the new year I think. Looking forward to having something else to focus on!
