TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

Hey guys how are you. My scan is on Tuesday at 4:30 and I have my osteopathy at 6. Keep the faith @LS2020, we're still on the countdown. When do you think you'll be testing?

LS2020 · 11/11/2020 13:47

@Mishmased how exciting! Hope it all goes well ☺️
Well AF is due Sunday so probably next Tuesday if it doesn’t show, would try hold out to the Wednesday but would probably see what my RHR is doing too

Boc86 · 11/11/2020 21:37

@Thedot90 yes cyclogest, it’s not the nicest is it! My head is absolutely pounding from it!
How far along are you? Good luck for Fridays scan

@LS2020 I’m on the max dose 🙈

@Boc86 ahhhhh that is amazing!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️ So so happy for you. Keeping everything crossed for a sticky bfp xxx

Thedot90 · 11/11/2020 23:01

@Boc86 woohoo congratulations! So exciting. Fingers crossed the cyclogest does the trick!

I’m 6+0 today, have had terrible cramps since BFP but no bleeding - have read variable things about cyclogest causing cramping/early pregnancy as well, but it’s hard not to panic about miscarriage.

I did have my first vom this morning, so getting my hopes up a little bit...

Boc86 · 12/11/2020 04:30

Thank you so much @Amy259 and @Thedot90
I’m absolutely terrified of losing it :(

Ahh no for the cramps. I absolutely have my pre period heavy achey cramp feeling
Yay for vom haha

Mishmased · 12/11/2020 04:42

@Boc86 that is sooooooo fantastic girl, just the best news to wake up to 💃💃💃💃
A million congratulations, so delighted for you I cannot put it into words.

Mishmased · 12/11/2020 04:46

@Amy259, @LS2020 how're you keeping? I'm keeping everything crossed for you @LS2020.

Mishmased · 12/11/2020 04:47

Congrats @Thedot90 ❤️❤️

Littlebee1990 · 12/11/2020 05:52

@Boc86 So happy for you! I remember how terrified I was those first few weeks just waiting to bleed again like last time but (touchwood) bubba is comfy inside me now at 13+4!

My advice for getting through the first few weeks is remember that your HCG only double every 48 hours so don’t panic if a test is the same 2 days in a row, try and leave it a few days now without testing, test a few more times if it helps peace of mind but set yourself a date you’ll stop, I got a dye stealer at 16DPO and that was enough for me. Remember you’re pregnant right now and no amount of fear or worry will change the outcome, focus on looking after yourself and staying safe and healthy! Just because of last time it doesn’t mean it’ll happen again, this is a different pregnancy ❤️

Hi ladies it's so nice to find this thread, so thought I'd jump in. We are hoping that this month is our month. Had an early miscarriage last month but I am now already in the early ovulation stage of this month which is such a relief. Really hoping this one sticks! Xx

LS2020 · 12/11/2020 06:52

@Boc86 omgggg massive congratulations lovely! Hope this one is really sticky for you ❤️

@Mishmased having my normal pre AF symptoms now and RHR is dropping so think I’m out this month but I’m so chuffed we have another BFP on here!

@AnnaOuwehand sorry to hear of your loss but welcome to this thread and hope it’s your month ❤️

AnnaOuwehand · 12/11/2020 06:57

Thank you, is just such an emotional time isn't it. I am hopeful because my daughter was conceived a couple weeks after my first miscarriage. She's 5 now 😊 Hopefully another will follow in the same way as I'm so ready for baby no 2. Do any of you have other children? Xxx

Mishmased · 12/11/2020 06:58

@LS2020 it's not over until next Wednesday. Keep the faith girl!
@AnnaOuwehand sorry to hear about your mc, fingers crossed for you this cycle.

Mishmased · 12/11/2020 07:03

@AnnaOuwehand I have two boys aged 5 and 7. Very straightforward pregnancies, one clear blue test done positive and dusted until 12 week scan. I had a mc in July which shocked me as I expected another run off the mill pregnancy. This fretting about a pregnancy is something I had to get my head around and I don't like it one bit😁

AnnaOuwehand · 12/11/2020 07:10

Aw @Mishmased i'm sorry for your loss in July. Any baby loss is hard, especially your first. My first was fairly awful. It was before my daughter, we were a week away from my 12 week scan when I started bleeding so was rushed in for an emergency scan. But before I got there I had such bad cramping and actually passed everything. Turns out baby hadn't developed further than about 5 or 6 weeks, but it's still horrendous. Especially when you're so longing for a baby. Still, we come through things like that stronger and hopeful for the next time. As I say, my next cycle after that was when I conceived my daughter.
Praying that you conceive and get your rainbow baby 😊🙏xx

LS2020 · 12/11/2020 07:16

@Mishmased well af is due in next 3 days now so don’t have to keep it too long 😂
@AnnaOuwehand this will be our first. Been TTC about 16 months this month (though would say 10 months of ‘proper’ trying), had a CP at 5 weeks in September and now just trying again really. If this cycle doesn’t work, taking a break until the new year I think to give us a bit of space

AnnaOuwehand · 12/11/2020 07:22

@LS2020 it can be so all-consuming can't it 😰
I'm sorry for your September loss. I know you probably hear it a lot, but they say as soon as you stop trying people often conceive....I've had a few friends who have told me this. I guess it's the stress of the whole thing. But praying for a bfp for you this month. Keep going, it will happen ! Xxxx

Amy259 · 12/11/2020 09:08

@Boc86 how are you feeling this morning? Such lovely news! Sunk in yet??

@LS2020 sorry to hear you’re feeling pre-af like... I’ll still keen everything crossed and hopefully she stays away! When is af due? Tomorrow?

@Littlebee1990 lovely to hear from you and so glad all is still well at your end. I feel like that’s flown, over 13 weeks already!

@AnnaOuwehand welcome. Sorry to hear about your mc both last month and all those years ago - that first one sounded really tough. I’m ttc my first and have been since August, with September being a CP. We’re on a bit of a break from it at the mo but not preventing - just not tracking.

AnnaOuwehand · 12/11/2020 10:48

@Amy259 sounds like the best way to be. And hopefully you'll come back to us with exciting news within the next couple of months 😊🙏xxx

LS2020 · 12/11/2020 12:02

@AnnaOuwehand thanks! Yes I do keep hearing that haha but so hard to not worry about.

@Amy259 think it’ll come on Sunday but I’ll get cramps tomorrow I reckon so see if they arrive 🤷‍♀️

Boc86 · 12/11/2020 12:12

Thank you so much @Mishmased and @Littlebee1990 ugh it’s such a huge worry!! I’m terrified to wipe!!
Especially tomorrow as that’s the cycle day I came on last month
Thank you yes I definitely didn’t want to test tomorrow (I did this morning as it’s darker on the frer and also picked up on the 25mui test yay)

@LS2020 thank you

Amy259 · 12/11/2020 19:05

@Boc86 I’m really happy for you and excited to hear all about what comes next! I love that you’re grateful for the headache and nausea 😂 I’m sure I’ll be the exact same and completely paranoid!

@LS2020 those itchy nips have got to be a good sign! 😂🤞🏻🤞🏻

AnnaOuwehand · 12/11/2020 19:54

That's one thing that I was utterly grateful for when I had my daughter....the nausea and sensitive breasts! The only time in life when you're desperate to feel like crap to reassure yourself that everything is okay! Xxx
