TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

@boc86 do u by any chance know what ur thyroid levels are? I was told it should be below 2.5 if ttc

Boc86 · 07/11/2020 06:18

Yes they usually sit around 3.5, maybe that’s my problem!

Littlebee1990 · 07/11/2020 07:21

@Iloveoreos Sorry to see you here ❤️

I’m now 13 weeks pregnant after a CP in June, I didn’t ovulate the following cycle (much like @Amy259 research suggests!) but caught the month after.

So glad to see so many people supporting eachother on this thread, it was exactly why I made it and it defo helped me so much!

Hoping for some November BFPs for you all ladiies 😍❤️

Hi all, hope you’re all keeping well.

@Iloveoreos sorry you’ve had to join us but welcome to the thread. I had a CP in September, bled for normal AF days and then didn’t detect O the cycle after and now in TWW for the next cycle waiting.

No major update from me. 6dpo today. RHR is high still but think will fall. Feeling absolutely nothing this cycle except I’ve had a small bit of thrush which I had with my BFP cycle last time so that’s making me feel v melancholy this weekend. Hope you’re all keeping well ❤️

Iloveoreos · 07/11/2020 10:05

Thanks ladies.ive started tracking again using opk to see if everythings ok this cycle but as some said it is ok not to ovulate 1st cycle after cp. So lets see

Mishmased · 07/11/2020 20:32

@LS2020 I'm counting with you and @Boc86 😁😁
@Littlebee1990 great to hear from you!

Boc86 · 08/11/2020 06:28

6dpo
It’s actually flying this time
Can’t believe I’m 7DPO tomorrow
But I don’t feel hopeful at all :(

LS2020 · 08/11/2020 08:32

@Iloveoreos I think I did ovulate as I got my progesterone surge but I had given up by time it happened so keep going!

@Mishmased thanks lovely

@Boc86 I know I’m 7dpo and feel absolutely nothing 🙃 my RHR is flat, actually feel well and have energy is v strange! Normally I’m curled up declaring in nauseous and with cramps

Boc86 · 08/11/2020 17:54

@LS2020 it’s horrid not knowing isn’t it!!
I’ve had my usual 6dpo pre af cramps today :(

LS2020 · 09/11/2020 07:17

@Boc86 ah how annoying, when do you start your progesterone again as that should stop it ☺️ 8dpo and nothing to report from me - slight boobs soreness last night and that it. This week is 100% going to drag!

Mishmased · 09/11/2020 07:54

Hey girls, hope you had a good weekend! We're halfway there with our countdown, so chin up 😁
I'm back to work tomorrow, so dropping kids at school, collecting presents from Smyths and going back to bed. I think I've got narcolepsy 😁😁
Yay for wales, their lockdown has ended!
Have a good week everyone!

Amy259 · 09/11/2020 13:24

@Mishmased you must be looking forward to your scan now?

@LS2020 & @Boc86 hope your tww isn’t driving you too nuts! Great that you’re not feeling the same wave of af symptoms this month LS - hopefully that’s a great sign, and must be lovely not to be doubled over feeling rotten. Boc are you back on progesterone again this month?

I haven’t tracked anything or peed on any sticks this month (it has been bloody wonderful!) but I’m CD18 today and normally ov around 20 so I’m probably near it.. and naturally the first month of “we should stop ttc for the new job”, DH has been so keen 🙈 so who knows 😂 I didn’t know Maternity Allowance was a thing, so now I know that’s there as a back up I’m less inclined to actively prevent - so I’m just letting DH crack on! X

Boc86 · 09/11/2020 16:32

@Amy259 and @LS2020 I started my progesterone at 4dpo, for some reason it doesn’t stop my period like it’s meant to?!

Sounds lovely not tracking anything!

LS2020 · 10/11/2020 07:26

@Amy259 haha typical! I don’t think SMA is loads though but it’s an option for you to look at ☺️ My RHR has dropped off so not feeling as hopeful now at 9dpo, this week seems to be dragging. We’re taking a break next month if it doesn’t work and I don’t know how I feel about it.

@Boc86 hmm have you spoke to GP about?

Amy259 · 10/11/2020 08:14

@LS2020 apparently it’s just SMP without the first stint of 90%? So it’s about £600 a month.. which is better than nothing. I’m currently not earning and haven’t been for a few months and we’ve been okay so I’m hopeful that with 8-9 months of full pay followed by SMA we’d be okay... that’s what I’ll tell myself anyway 😂
Are you taking a break from tracking but still dtd as normal? You’ll probably sort of know anyway... even without sticks or rhr. So it might be nice to have a break from the clinical side of it and just DTD around when you know it matters?

@Boc86 yeah I’d maybe ask that question if you haven’t already? Sorry I don’t know too much about progesterone x

LS2020 · 10/11/2020 11:13

@Amy259 oh yeah if you’re working on one salary at the moment it’ll be in addition so could work for you.
We’re just taking a full break, no tracking and no timing just to not have a month feeling like this! Want to be able to drink and enjoy Xmas foods too so works well.
I’m feeling a bit fed up today as boobs are so sore - I swear this wasn’t a thing when i was a teenager.. or maybe it was and this is why we’re all so moody as teens 😂

Amy259 · 10/11/2020 11:31

@LS2020 that was my plan too but I found i couldn’t help but know it would around now.. I haven’t timed any dtd or whatever, but not tracking didnt stop me from thinking “oh I’m cd19 just now so I must be ovulating around now” if you know what I mean? So it’s made up until now a lot easier mentally, there’s been no anxiety about finding a peak or whatever, but I’m not sure I’ll help me much with the tww feelings because I’ll still know when af is due etc? I’m not sure at this point I could ever fully switch off from it all now.

Amy259 · 10/11/2020 11:34

@LS2020 actually that was a silly thing to say because if we’d used protection for a month so I knew there was no chance, there wouldn’t be a tww so I would get a complete break!

Boc86 · 10/11/2020 11:57

Yeah spoke to the fertility doc about it who I’m under. She doesn’t really know either and said you wouldn’t really expect to come on being on progesterone
I’m 8dpo now and didn’t get the temp drop that I did at 8dpo last month
I had a drop 8 and 9 dpo last month so really hoping I don’t get it tkmorrow
I know I’m not pg with all of these pre af cramps but I hope for a longer LP

Ah no sorry for the sore boobs @LS2020 so uncomfortable isn’t it

I’d love a break but I have to absolutely confirm ovulation to start progesterone on the right day :(

Thedot90 · 10/11/2020 16:16

@Boc86 have you been given progesterone pessaries? I am on cyclogest, and am finding it so hard to distinguish between preg symptoms and side effects. Boob tenderness fluctuates from being excruciating, to being fine, and I have daily cramps. I have a feeling I’m miscarrying/have already and the progesterone is preventing the bleed, but will find out at scan on Friday.

LS2020 · 10/11/2020 18:56

@Amy259 yeah I’m expecting to feel like that and just avoid the key days but it feels daft avoiding the key days as it’s obviously not working anyway 😂 Tbf now I’ve reconfirmed O after the CP, I won’t be doing anymore OPKs I don’t think. Yeah it’s TWW break I want.

@Boc86 that is odd. Surprised she’s not upped dose or similar. Hoping you get a longer LP 🤞🏻 I don’t think I implanted until about 9-10dpo so you need that chance.
Yeah they’re doing my head in today. Been so sore just walking and then had like a lightening pain in my nipple. Sure they like to taunt me!!

LS2020 · 10/11/2020 19:47

Ok I am deffo overanalysing my symptoms now 😂 my OH has just brushed against my boob and I had to stop myself from snapping at him it was so painful - that can’t be normal right?!

Amy259 · 10/11/2020 20:17

@LS2020 that level of nipple pain is what I felt when I got my bfp... every other month I get an obvious tenderness but I almost have to go looking for it. I’d say if you don’t get that every other month I’d be keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

LS2020 · 10/11/2020 21:27

@Amy259 boob pains a bit odd for me. When I came off the depo, would always get it the week before AF which stopped after about 6 months and then never got until my BFP in September. Then I had it last month but almost just that normal sore/tenderness as you say. The is first month where I’ve had itchiness around the side and nipples, I had like a lightening pain through my boob to nipple this evening watching bake off and then OH leant past me and brushed me and I swear I saw red in anger of pain. But I didn’t get this in September so not sure. After my BFP they went super sore like almost two solid balls and didn’t really feel much nipple wise but didn’t feel this awful when touched. It’s a weird one, it’s ebbed off a bit now so will see what next few days bring! My cramps should start Thursday/Friday so that’ll be biggest sign if AF is due

LS2020 · 11/11/2020 08:56

well 10dpo and not feeling hopeful. No RHR increase, boobs are back to normal sore and no nausea this time around. I really don’t feel anything which is annoying!!

Hope your TWWs are better @Boc86 and @Mishmased - when’s your scan?
