TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

@LS2020 I honestly wish my cycles were shorter it’s sooooo long to wait to ovulate 😭

@Amy259 glad to hear you’ve started a new cycle after it dragging on like mine, got my fx for you this month ☺️

@Boc86 yeah that is so long - on the good side at least you get for guilt free drinking haha! Though that doesn’t stop me 😂 I wish there was a way that doctors could just put us all on something like clomid and we’d shoot eggs out and you could just go for it all month and be done with TTC!

God @LS2020 that sounds like a dream - an egg a week would do me, I’d love to not have to think about dtd or ttc because there was a chance every week!!

I’m actually entering into my couple of months off ttc now (new job and all that) but would love to keep in touch with you ladies as you continue on/progress with ttc and (hopefully) stick around to see your bfps, if that’s okay with everyone?

@LS2020 I do actually think I’ll be put on clomid by the new year, I’m on progesterone for 3 months then having scans and semen analysis and most likely clomid with the progesterone

@Amy259 of course, hope you enjoy the couple of months relaxing from it! Are you actively preventing or just not thinking about?

@Boc86 I’m thinking about chasing my scan as still not heard anything 😔 hopefully you have some luck with the progesterone, sounds good that it gave you some extra LP days this month

@Boc86 & @LS2020 glad you’ll have me 😂 I’m hopeful by the time I start ttc again you pair will have joined @Mishmased (and anyone else reading this!!) in the early days of bump life and you can guide me through those first few weeks haha.

Tbh (overshare?) my DH isn’t exactly raring to go 24/7 so I think it’ll be fairly easy to miss those 5 important days a month without having to actively prevent! So I’ll just sort of keep track of CD20 and avoid 15-21, which should be easy enough! If I’m doing that and magically we fall pregnant it definitely won’t be the end of the world so I don’t really want to go back on any form of hormonal contraception.

@Amy259 that sounds like a good plan ☺️ Be interesting to be on the other side of the fence for a while! I have heard that when you come off like the pill you are more fertile though so could be worth doing a month or two?

@Boc86 yeah my only issue is I didn’t take any details down on the form I was sent so don’t even know where to start calling - will have to have a google and see if I can find a number for the department or something

Hi @Amy259, @LS2020, @Boc86 good to hear everyone is well. Do stay in touch @Amy259, technically I shouldn't be here as well. Hope it's ok to continue being here? I'm well just so tired I can barely pull my thoughts together. And I'm not working nights this week, needed to go to the bathroom and afterwards got thirsty. Hopefully we can see news of BFP coming soon.x

@Mishmased I hope you do stay, nice to speak to someone who’s managed to come through the other side and keep us hopeful ☺️ No news from me, hoping for a positive OPK tomorrow and will mean cycles have returned to normal 🤞🏻

@LS2020 just a thought, are you having sex atm or waiting for positive opk?

@Mishmased was down to my last OPK stick today and it hasnt worked so blooming typical!! Gonna have to try use an ic one and see if I can get a positive on that.
We try to have sex every other day after AF, then when get a positive OPK, do daily so almost a bit like SMEP and then go back to every 2-3 days after

Thanks @Boc86 😊 AF all done for this month? I would start to get 'ready' by the weekend if ovulating mid next week. Or get going by Monday depending on how frequently you guys are having sex.

@LS2020 yeah every other day sounds good.
Remember that sperm can live for up to 5 days, so maybe when not around the FW let the men catch their breathe 😊

Yeah AF all done, stopped Saturday last week
We don’t do it often but over ov we do it the day my opk gets darker, the day after when it peaks, then the day after when I ovulate but this month I’ll also do it the day after that

@Mishmased Tbf I’m very lucky my OH is always keen, I’m the one with a lower drive so this has been a holiday for him 😂 thanks lovely, tried to do two IC OPKs today but they completely blank so v stumped 😔 but had lots of good CM so gonna keep up with!

Seeing as I started this thread it felt right to come back and update. I had my 12 week scan today and everything is looking good. All happy and healthy, baby kept waving 🤣 measuring 11+4 so due 16th May! The heartbeat was strong. He said the baby is very lively and happy looking 😂😍😆😍

@LS2020 did you say loads of CM? I'm going to be weird now and ask for consistency-creamy, sticky or egg white consistency? That's a good sign.

@Mishmased haha yeah there’s been loads of it when I wipe so haven’t played too much with it but it’s egg white deffo. If my cycles are back to normal I’m due to ovulate tomorrow so hoping all a good sign

@LS2020 that's all you need really the egg white and you're good to go. I won't be waiting for opk, I will be going full steam ahead tonight, tomorrow and the day after if you're up for it.

@Mishmased that’s the plan! Although my RHR is massively on the up which is confusing as doesn’t normally do that til after ovulation.

@Boc86 and I thought getting up at 5.30 for work for was tiring not sure how I’d cope being up at half 3 😂
