TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

@Amy259 so glad to hear you have had your peak and you managed to cover yourself DTD wise lol. So satisfying when you can go to bed knowing you have done all you can and it's just up to fate now to see what happens.

I have had the strangest month ever, I have still not got any sign of a high on my OPKs nor have I had any CM bar a bit around the end of my period (day 7 or 8) but today I have started spotting brown. I am only on day 16. I have no idea what is going on. Any ideas guys feel free to let me know lol. I usually have very regular 22 to 26 day (last month) periods.

@LS2020 hope your doing well at your stage of the cycle and thanks for your advice on the vitamins. I have stopped them all and have kind of gave up for the month lol.

@MrsEmiB sorry to hear about your chemical, go easy on yourself. I also started spotting before my period when I started TTC and the first month it happened I literally thought it was implantation bleeding and had got so excited lol. It continues now some months I spot for 2 days and some it could be 4 or 5 days.

@Mamainmaking1 yes!! I went to sleep so content haha.

Hmmm that is weird. Is anything different this month at all? New supplements or anything?

I did take nettle tea and the procieve plus but I only took them for around 5 days starting on day 7 and haven't took them now for 4 days. If anything I would of expected the supplements to delay period not take one forward. I have no cramps or anything like AF. Literally have no idea what is going on and the spotting has been pretty evident all day every time I go to the toilet. The mystery continues lol

@Mamainmaking1 how strange. When you do you normally ovulate? Is there any chance you could have missed it? Other than that, I’ve got no clue I’m afraid!

My epu appointment is in the morning so will have to leave work at 10 and come back at 12. Bit annoying as I have been off since Monday morning and tomorrow will be my first day back.

My RHR has dropped dramatically today but honestly feel so dreadful I kinda wouldn’t be surprised if AF showed a week early but that would give me like an 20 day cycle so don’t think it’s that 😩

@Amy259 I have woke up today to a full blown period or what appears to be one. No cramps just bleeding heavier than yesterday. I am literally only on day 16 today and I only stopped bleeding from my period about 9 days ago. Mind is blown at to what is going on at this never ever happens me I have normal cycles. Hope it's just my normal period and my body regulates itself and just goes back to normal now. 🙈

@LS2020 that’s so strange. Did your rhr dip at all last cycle? Sorry to hear you’re feeling rotten too. What are you now, about 7/8dpo?

@Mamainmaking1 it seems no ones cycles are behaving this month! That’s so random for you. Hopefully it’s just a (randomly early) normal period and you can start a new cycle now. Maybe do nothing different this month and see if it regulates?

@Amy259 yeah it dipped when I implanted I think so guess will just have to see. I’m 8dpo I think ☺️ How are you getting on?

@Mamainmaking1 how weird do you think it’s stopping the supplements?

@Amy259 thanks, no symptoms or anything so not sure it’ll happen but never mind! Honestly I think like 3-7dpo is the worst time so feeling for you, have you got anything planned for this weekend?

@LS2020 we’re in the central belt of Scotland so we’re pretty much in lockdown again as of 6pm tonight! So not much haha. We’ve got a plasterer coming late next week to do a bedroom so I think our weekend will be spent clearing it out... exciting times ahead!! What’s your plan this month with testing? Holding out or testing at 10/11? I’m determined not to test this month until 14/15dpo if af doesn’t arrive before then... but we’ll see 😂

Thanks so much @Amy259. Apologies for the late update, had a not so good day at work plus I work in the middle of nowhere so no signal and I was finished at 8 and just got home.
Well there is a heartbeat so we are def having a baby :) but I do have a sub chorionic hematoma which is making me bleed. I had a couple of light bleeding from last week Monday (28 sep) on and off until sunday just gone.
EPU don't see you before 6 weeks so I was told to come today as I am 6+3. It was a relief as I had said to myself that this is the end if nothing comes out of this, but thankfully there is a heartbeat.
They hope hematoma is reabsorbed or bleeds out without any issue and I was told to get in touch if bleeding starts again, if everything goes to plan I should be back in 6 weeks for my dating scan.

Oh and I forgot to add that I drove home after scan as we are 5 mins from hospital. Showed DH the scan pic with the heartbeat and another dot and told him we are having twins with my biggest poker face
He is in shock all day and I haven't put him out of his misery

@Mishmased ahhh woohoo!! What great news!! So so happy for you. You best hope DH isn’t telling anyone you’re having twins haha 😂😂 I think I’d actually love twins! Fingers crossed it’s smooth sailing for you from now on!

@Amy259 thanks so much. He’s more terrified as this is will be baby number 3. We hoped for twins first and second time round but didn’t happen. He just keeps muttering omg four kids 🤣🤣

I've had to tell some people at work now because we were shorted staffed and there's roles I can't do! Was hoping to hold out a bit longer but my manager wasn't in so I can't tell her until Tuesday hopefully no one spills the beans before then haha

@123feraverto so glad to hear from you! Was wondering what happened as you went quiet or maybe I wasn't on for a while. Congrats! How many weeks are you now? So delighted for you.

I have t told work yet! Just trying to hold out for as long as possible. My manager knows about my miscarriage so I don't want to tell him now and have him worrying about me so soon. Sometimes you have to. For me it was lifting as I noticed I bled a bit more when I lift so I reduced lifting as much as possible using trolleys. I rarely do any lifting at work but it just so happens that for the last couple of weeks there's been something to lift.

One of our roles on a shift could involve restraining aggressive patients so I can't do that any more !

I'm in two minds about booking a private scan , don't know whether it would just increase my anxiety rather than help it

I get you now regarding work. If you cannot then that's it. I'm currently on weekends and nights until early November. Will have to tell work then as I sometimes have to go into areas with hazardous biological agents so best they don't have me auditing those areas.

I didn't get any scan until epu. How're you feeling overall? I never had extra scan on my two kids and I only had the scan for my mc just to confirm it was happening as I was told epu may not see me for another 3 days. They saw me the next day.

Try to take each day as it comes and don't worry about tomorrow cos there's very little we can control.x

I would never ever normally bd that often (it was going to be everyday for 5 days not a week) we managed 4 days in a row

7DPO now, started my progesterone on the evening of 5dpo
Testing late next week
