TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

Ah @KeishaV what a lovely progression ☺️ Are you going to keep on with it until 14dpo?

KeishaV · 29/09/2020 08:15

@LS2020 I think so yes, I wish I could be one of those people that didn’t think about it but I can’t help myself 🙈

Littlebee1990 · 29/09/2020 08:53

Hi ladies, update as promised after my visit to EPU last week when they said heartbeat was low and to expect the worst and go back in 2 weeks. Thank you for all your good wishes and prayers.. today at our private scan bubbas heartbeat is now 129bpm and I’m measuring at 6+4.. we’re not out the woods yet as it’s still very very early days and I have a haematoma to the side of bubba which is a risk but I have to rest, take it easy and keep hopeful everyday. She said as of today everything looks good and how it should and we saw bubbas heartbeat flickering away. We can’t quite believe it. ❤️😢

Eeee got my progesterone
So excited! Just need to ov now, cd18 and no hints 🙄
Usually ov cd 19-21 so get the positive test cd 18-20 but I can’t see me getting a pos opk in two days!

Amy259 · 29/09/2020 16:22

@Boc86 I’m excited for you - I really hope it works!!

@Blughbablugh welcome, sorry for your loss.

@LS2020 how are you feeling? Any sign of a positive opk yet?

LS2020 · 29/09/2020 19:05

@Boc86 yay glad you’ve got them and hope it helps this month!

@Blughbablugh welcome and sorry for your loss. It’s good you took a bit of time to let your cycle settle ☺️

@Amy259 pretty boring here! I’ve been getting flashey smiles on OPK and hoping to get a static tomorrow if my cycle has normalised. Im off work tomorrow and my OH is wfh so hoping it is positive tomorrow as can get some serious DTD done 😂😂 how are you getting on?

SMB20 · 29/09/2020 21:45

@Littlebee1990 I am so happy for you 💖

@Blughbablugh so sorry for your loss xxx

Boo2020 · 30/09/2020 07:39

Hi Ladies, not been on here for a while as I am trying to take my mind of it all, but I had a miscarriage last month that lasted with a 2 week bleed so I've been waiting for my first period to come, came Monday for one day, had fresh blood then it died off! Im so confused, anyone had this? Shall I take this as CD1? X

Blughbablugh · 30/09/2020 08:52

Thanks all. Looks like AF is here so will be trying when she's gone. I'm so nervous. It was our first cycle ttc for our second and we were really surprised it happened so soon as I'm 37. I'm trying not to get my hopes up that it will be as soon this time.

LS2020 · 02/10/2020 11:25

@Boo2020 that is unusual - have you had any more bleeding?

@Blughbablugh sorry to hear AF arrived, I hope you get a lovely sticky BFP 🤞🏻

Can I ask some advice? Has anyone had like lingering symptoms after their CP?
I’m in theory 1DPO today but never got a positive OPK this week which is unusual for me, even tested twice a day. But these last few days, I’ve been proper hit with my pregnancy symptoms, my boobs have been so swollen and sore, I’ve struggled with sleeping and then this last night I’ve had such nausea that’s only eased with eating small and often today. Is it like a lingering body reaction to rising estrogen in my body this cycle?

Mamainmaking1 · 02/10/2020 11:56

Hi guys can I join in? Had a loss at 5 weeks back in July whilst TTC my first. Feeling really disappointed every cycle that goes by since with BFN as I was hopeful another BFP would soon follow. @LS2020 I have been having sore boobs all month which is really unusual for me and I had it with my BFP. So I agree I do think sometimes there is longer symtoms.

Boo2020 · 02/10/2020 16:35

@LS2020 sorry for the late reply, thank you for getting back to me. I came on again Tuesday..🤔 (very light again, but red) now it seems to have died off now (from yesterday) I'm going take this as a really light period 🤔..im on CD5 now so I should ovulate in 12 days but I will start testing from tomorrow I think just to pin point x

Amy259 · 03/10/2020 10:37

@LS2020 how strange for you! I’m on CD15 and not even flashing smiley yet, which is weird for me so I think maybe the cp has messed up my cycle too. No sign of ovulation yet but we’re away this week so managed to DTD a fair amount anyway... but the uncertainty is quite frustrating. I guess we just keep testing and hoping??

LS2020 · 03/10/2020 10:49

@Mamainmaking1 welcome and sorry for your loss. Did your cycles normalise after? I know I only got with my BFP so feels very bittersweet 😔

@Boo2020 how strange it stopped so soon again though! Do you O regularly?

@Amy259 ah annoying! I got flashing ones fine but never got a static and gave up!! I had bits of EWCM but odd days apart, maybe body is firing eggs out 😂😂 been just trying to DTD every other day and will do through til next weds when im a week from AF and then give us a bit of a break. I had a RHR peak two days ago when I was due to O so thought it was that but it’s gone back down whereas normally after O my heart rate stays high so no idea 😩

Amy259 · 03/10/2020 13:02

@LS2020 it’s the not knowing that’s frustrating! I could be entering my fertile window now, if I’m going to ov around cd19/20 (this is 15) but normally I would’ve had a flashing smiley by now. We go home tomorrow and I feel like it’s more obviously dtd/pressure when life is just normal so I was really hoping timing would be on my side and I’d ov whilst we’re on holiday 😂 I also don’t want to stress about DTD lots this week coming (unless we want to, of course!) if I’m not even going to ovulate... so frustrating!

LS2020 · 04/10/2020 09:37

@Amy259 I totally understand. We conceived last month while we were away at a spa hotel so now annoyingly have confirmation that being relaxed and just having fun is the way to do it and it’s so hard to fake that when you have no idea what it going on 😩
When did you start OPK testing?

Well my RHR has flown up today so assuming that does mean I have now O’d. My body is reacting so badly to the hormones this cycle. Still majorly nauseous this morning, boobs are the size of my head and had the strangest dreams last night. I’m assuming something to do with the progesterone uptick

Amy259 · 04/10/2020 09:57

@LS2020 same here - it was our wedding weekend when we conceived so it was obviously just fun and relaxed!

I started opk testing on Thursday, still a blank circle on my CB this morning. CD16 now going from the cp bleed start date, and normally would definitely have a flashing smiley by now. So weird. Not really been able to track BBT this cycle because we’ve been on holiday so most nights we’ve had a drink. That’s so annoying that you’re still get nauseous, have you spoken to your doc again about lingering effects or is it a common thing?
