TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

@Mishmased bless him, it must be really tough for them too. I think I’ll aim for the 5-6 week mark before telling DH when I (hopefully) get my bfp - 6 weeks feels like a bit of a milestone.

@LS2020 next time round I think I’ll do everything much, much slower. My head totally ran away with me, ordering the baby grow to tell DH, imagining how I was going to cover it up at my birthday etc. Made everything that bit more heartbreaking, so I’m going to attempt to just slow down and take each day as it comes next time. Probably easier said than done!

So if you manage to pinpoint ov in the next week or so are you going to go for it or take this month “off”? I think either way I’d beat myself up about it - if I had another chemical this month, I’d wish I’d waited, but if I wait and it takes another 2-3 months, I’ll wish I’d just tired right away. So I think I’m just going to DTD as we normally would this month and see what happens. Leave it up to fate!

@Boc86 If I had to pick one of the causes I would lean towards peppermint tea. I know I shouldn't and I try not to think about it. I have stopped all herbal teas for now.

Mishmased · 27/09/2020 17:23

@Amy259 that's human nature tho, you were excited and wanted to give him a nice surprise.x

LS2020 · 27/09/2020 17:37

@Boc86 how do you know if you if you need the progesterone? It’s been a worry of mine as I was on the depo for years and been concerned it’s stopped my boat making it but my day 21 bloods were fine.

@Amy259 i agree with @Mishmased. It is super natural to have been excited and it was a normal course of reaction. If I’d been home I would have done something similar and I did run out and get pregnacare before our holiday. I think I will deffo wait out the 6 week mark though this time before doing anything other than telling OH and taking my vitamins.
I’m going to keep going for it, couldn’t forgive myself if I missed the chance I think. Even if it was a CP again, after 15 months I need to know it wasn’t a fluke and would take longer to get pregnant again. I think fate is a really good idea ☺️

Little bit darker this afternoon after I slept from my night

Nausea is getting stronger 🤢
Don't know how I will hide that at work 🤔

Mishmased · 27/09/2020 18:11

@123feraverto that's a good sign. I work shift as well but I'm alone in my office at night. I work 2 days and 2 nights so have to deal with people in the office during the day. At night very few people call to me so that's good. When are you back to work?

123feraverto · 27/09/2020 18:20

@Mishmased
Back to days Tuesday, when I'm on days I work mostly 2 long day 7am-9pm
It's an inpatient mental health unit so always busy ! 😂

Mishmased · 27/09/2020 18:28

That is long long and I thought mine was long as I work 7-7 on a 4 cycle shift. Get loads of rest.x

LS2020 · 27/09/2020 18:43

@123feraverto I found having a smoothie to hand really useful as could take little sips and that helped me ease it. Would just get an innocent bottle like you’d get with a meal deal and a bit less obvious than biscuits

Boc86 · 27/09/2020 22:24

@LS2020 my day 21 bloods were really low x

LS2020 · 28/09/2020 07:40

@Boc86 that was supposed to say my body and not my boat 😂
Ah ok, mine came back in normal range so hopefully it means its bounced back. Do you have to use them from O? Hope it works for you 🤞🏻

KeishaV · 28/09/2020 08:29

Hey everyone, sorry I joined and then went quiet. We had to move house and I was trying not to think too much about TTC this cycle as I was getting really down. I’m seeing some friends tonight and thought I’d better POAS just incase but didn’t have high hopes as I’m only 9DPO and I’ve just had the strongest positives since we started TTC back in Jan 😭

Feeling really cautious as AF isn’t due for another 4 days so any tips on how to help this baby stick would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Boc86 · 28/09/2020 09:12

Ahh congratulations @KeishaV really praying for a sticky baby for you

Haha @LS2020 didn’t even notice you wrote boat 😂 thank you yes I take it from 3dpo according to ALL the research I’ve done but 7DPO according to my doc! Going with 5dpo I think
I’m sooo close to ov my temps going up and tests getting darker I think by Thursday/Friday x

123feraverto · 28/09/2020 09:39

Definitely a BFP today !

Ill get some smoothies they are good anyway, There's always food in our office so a biscuit wouldn't be too suspect either 😂
Hopefully this is the sticky one

Congratulations @KeishaV! Sticky wishes to you too!

I also did not notice boat 🚣‍♀️

Amazing @123feraverto x

elenacampana · 28/09/2020 10:14

Had a CP back in Dec 2019, nothing since. Waiting for a call back from the Dr about our difficulties with fertility today.

It does sometimes feel like I’m all on my own with it. Threads like this really help me to feel like this an invisible army of other women all around me.

Thank you for starting this :-)

KeishaV · 28/09/2020 11:35

Thank you @Boc86 @123feraverto feeling paranoid that I’ll start bleeding every time I go to the toilet and trying not to read into the slight cramps I have too much. Hoping it’s all in my head and trying to take reassurance on the darkness of the lines 🤞

Good luck with the Dr @elenacampana I know how you’re feeling, as each cycles passes it’s hard to shake the feeling of it not happening xx

Boc86 · 28/09/2020 17:41

Aww I can only imagine the worry x

LS2020 · 28/09/2020 18:27

Congrats @KeishaV hoping for a sticky bean for you 🤞🏻

@Boc86 I think 5DPO is wise as they do the checks at 7dpo so that must be when it’s important to have high progesterone?

@123feraverto a lovely line ☺️ Yeah just try to keep eating/don’t get hungry I found that made me loads worse.

@elenacampana hope all goes well with doctors, I’ve just started my tests so let us know how it goes!

Boc86 · 28/09/2020 19:32

That’s exactly what I think @LS2020!!
I said to the doc surely if my progesterone has dropped by 7DPO then you want me to start the progesterone at 7DPO it’d be too late and my levels wouldve dropped and caused a potential miscarriage!

LS2020 · 28/09/2020 20:31

@Boc86 I guess it partly depends when you implant but I think I did say 9 last cycle so yeah starting at 7 feels a bit risky. If other people have been ok from CD3, I think 5 should be pretty safe ☺️

LS2020 · 28/09/2020 20:31

Day 9*

Boc86 · 29/09/2020 06:06

Thank you I’ll go for 5, collecting the progesterone this morning 🤗

KeishaV · 29/09/2020 07:56

Thank you @LS2020

The test was darker again this morning 😊 I’ve never had a test go this dark before as they’ve always started to fade. Trying not to get my hopes up too much but finding it difficult not to.

Too photo was yesterday and the bottom was this morning (9 and 10 DPO) x
