TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Can I ask if anyone had an early ovulation after their CP? I’ve had a fair bit EWCM (there when I go to toilet to wipe) and had some pain in my left side which I get around ovulation but I’m only CD8 today so I haven’t even started testing on my OPKs. Weirdly, if my period had come on time, today would be my ovulation date so worried I’ve missed it :/

I’ve just been prescribed progesterone after my chemicals
I’m so so happy I know I need it as I have a short luteul phase
I ov next week and will be taking it from then arghhh!

Girls I noticed I did not have the ewcm when I ovulated in Aug. I felt it coming and then nothing. So even if you don't notice it still have sex around your fertile time. Have a great time 🥰🥰

@LS2020 how strange! I have wondered about this, because I think technically a chemical bleed is a ‘withdrawal bleed’ not a period, so I wondered if cycles go based on what they should’ve been or not... how’s your RHR doing? Any hints there?

I know I missed ovulation in August as opk showed positive on the day I tested few days before ovulation and next day tested negative. It thought I missed in sept as I had no symptoms around the time just briefly about 3 days before.

@Amy259 glad you had a wonderful 30th despite everything 😊 my RHR is the bit that’s driving me insane because that’s shooting up which never happens before O, always rises just at it begins but normally I have over a week where it’s flat beforehand and obviously not had that so v confused! I’ve seen on a couple of places that people have O’d on similar CD dates and that’s why doctors suggest skipping a month as can be hard to predict. It’s v strange but thankfully been DTD every other day so will just have to keep going

@Mishmased Thanks so much for checking in. I just need Tuesday to hurry up tbh, I feel numb. I’ve been a recluse since Tuesday so I’ve told my boss and my closest friends because they all knew something was up. I just have a really bad feeling and think the nurse was really trying to prepare me for the worst, we will see what Tuesday brings. I hope you’re doing ok? X

Ahh @Littlebee1990 there's a heartbeat, it just needs to get stronger and hopefully it will. Focus on what you have control over, eat rest, pls try and stay positive.xx

@Mishmased Totally, I’m resting lots.. I’ve never felt so lazy and getting lots of goodness inside me! My partner is a dream too and is an absolute rock. We’re moving house Wednesday so that’s a distraction of some sort! Xx

I caved and tested super early - the faintest little positive...
I don't know if I regret testing so early, every little ache or whatever is making me so anxious, doesn't help I'm working nights either, last one tonight though!
Based on my last MC AF is due 30th. I ordered a FR which will come Monday so I can use that before work on Tuesday....

@Mishmased @123feraverto Thanks ladies, I’ve not lifted a thing, my partner is being overly cautious and even scowled at me carrying a hot chicken from the supermarket.. I was like oh come on.. my handbag is prob heavier 🤣

Going into cycle 5 now should be ovulating any day now
Last two cycles I just didn’t fall pregnant, the two before that I had chemicals

I’ve also just moved house into my first owned house and first time with my partner so that’s making my cycles fly!

@LS2020 that’s a bit of a scary thought - if I ov when I normally would (from when af was due) then it’ll be a much shorter time between the bleed and ov... so I wonder if that would affect implantation? Not giving my uterus long enough to repair? I did read somewhere that’s why you should skip a cycle between, so reduce the risk of a CP happening again because implantation failed. But lots of other places just say crack on, so I have no idea really...

@Boc86 fingers crossed for you.xx I'm sort of in a limbo at the moment, no one knows not even DH so I can't talk to anyone.
I keep feeling like what's the point of all this stress. I was working nights on Friday and felt wetness in my underwear and felt some back pain. I was convinced it had started again, I even went to the bathroom with a pad. Turned out to be slight non bloody discharge. If I hadn't decide to have a third child I would never have know the stress of it.
I'm so freaked out I stopped drinking peppermint tea as I was drinking 2-3 cups prior to pregnancy as it helps me sleep. I'm trying to not lift anything heavy, my clothes are getting a bit snug but too terrified to start sorting out the mat clothes. I had mc the day after being out boxes of mat and baby clothes. Priceless!

@Amy259 I'm just hanging on! There's different research regarding getting pregnant straight after or not. Mine was on July 26 so exactly 8 weeks ago. Would have been 12 weeks today ha! I didn't get pregnant in August not because I was waiting, I just didn't know when I ovulated.

@Mishmased when are you going to tell DH do you reckon?

Aww that’s a rubbish milestone marker, sorry that’s today. But fingers crossed you’ll have plenty more to celebrate soon. In August do you reckon your cycle was messed up following the mc? I think I’m just going to let this month play out and see what happens, because I’m not sure what the right answer is with trying immediately after a chemical.

@Amy259 I honestly don't know yet. He gets super excited once he's told. He has seen pregnancy test packs in the bathroom cupboard but he's probably thinking (that's if he noticed) that's for next month. Before I found out I was pregnant we talked about trying in October.

My cycle was def messed in aug I used the opk 3 days before I would have ovulated and got a slight positive. I thought it would get darker next day but nothing the next day. So l must have ovulated way earlier than I thought.

@Mishmased I can’t imagine how worried you are. I feel like I’ll be a mess if I get a BFP again now until the 12 week mark. I think I’ll be the same with planning as we literally went to the beach to make a sand announcement for when we were at 12 weeks and wanted world to know and I got back and had the blood and it was awful to know that I was so excited doing that and lost them at the same time. I really hope this one is sticky little bean for you 🤞🏻

@Amy259 yeah I’m still v confused on when I’ll ovulate. I was a bit convinced it was a couple of days ago but since then my RHR has flattened and started to get a flashing smiley on OPK which is v normal before O so I’m hoping my OPKs find something this month. I think I agree with you on giving time to repair, I’ve had some many TWW symptoms, I feel like my hormones are a bit up and down atm, I get random sore boob days, I’m having a massive bloated and sore back day today. I honestly think I could still be pg sometimes it’s strange.
