TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

Thank you @Littlebee1990 that’s really good advice 💖 I’m sorry you experienced the same insensitivity as well. I think changing the subject is a good idea! I will let you know how I go on Wednesday. How far along in your cycle are you? Fingers crossed for a BFP this month xxx

123feraverto · 30/08/2020 11:13

@SMB20 that's not nice of your "friend"
Some people just don't think before they speak

Yesterday I had a really bad feeling that this baby wasn't meant to be and I had a dream I was testing negative
now
6 weeks today I woke up to bleeding and now some cramps
Tests are still positive and I still have symptoms like nausea and sore boobs but I think it best to think the worst

Don't really know what I'm meant to do at this point , online suggests calling 111 but I don't think it warrants that - I guess I'll call the gp on Tuesday see if they'll do some bloods for Hcg levels maybe

Positive vibes to you all

SMB20 · 30/08/2020 13:14

@123feraverto I’m so sorry to hear this. Can you go to emergency? I think I would try that. I know it’s quite common to bleed in trimester 1 and if you still have your symptoms that’s a good sign. I’m thinking of you xxx

Littlebee1990 · 30/08/2020 19:08

@123feraverto Hope you’re ok? Been thinking of you.

@SMB20 I’m either 2DPO or 4DPO I think I’m 2 based on getting a peak OPK on the 27th so I assumed ovulation on 28th but my BBT charts say I ovulated on 26th.. so my apps say AF is due between 9-12th.. we’re away 3-13th so I really don’t know what to do about testing.. if it’s a BFN I wanna know early on so I can use the hot tub and drink! I’d rather a BFP and a fake urine infection though but I’ll feel a bit robbed if I avoid everything and then AF arrives the day we come home! X

@Littlebee1990 thanks 😊 I'm ok I guess , pretty sure it's another miscarriage, I'll be testing in the morning to try and see what's what.

Boc86 · 30/08/2020 19:48

Oh no @123feraverto hope everything’s ok

SMB20 · 31/08/2020 22:54

@Littlebee1990 I think I’d test early if it was me! The only problem is it might still be too early to show up? I hope you have a lovely time!
@123feraverto I’m thinking of you and hoping it isn’t bad news for you xxx

KeishaV · 01/09/2020 08:28

@123feraverto sending you lots of love and keeping everything crossed for good news x

@Littlebee1990 I’d be the same as @SMB20 and would have to test early but I have zero willpower 😂 could you test part way through and then if it’s an obvious BFN you could enjoy the last couple of days in the hot tub etc? Or do you have cheapies where you could test each day?

Littlebee1990 · 01/09/2020 08:57

@SMB20 @KeishaV Have got 2 FRERS and some IC’s so I’ll take them all 🤣 xx

Hi,
Wondering if I can join for some friendly advice and support. Today I should be 7 weeks pregnant following MMC at 11.5 weeks in April (this turned out to be partial mole). Yesterday I started bleeding heavily and am still bleeding today like a heavy Af. I had a bad feeling last week and said to my DH that I thought something was wrong , had a dream friday that I was having a miscarrage then bleeding yesterday. I have an appointment at EPU Friday to check everything is coming out and I can start to think about trying again.
Whats everyone's opinions on waiting or trying again straight away? My husband wants to wait as he says he can't see me cry anymore this year.
When do you think AF may return?? I think i feel OK but in all honesty its been such a year I don't know what to feel.

Littlebee1990 · 01/09/2020 15:20

@Leaf87 I’m so sorry for your losses, I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks in June and it’s heartbreaking. We decided to continue trying straight away, however my cycles are pretty messed up since.. I was always 28 day cycle, first cycle after the MC was 39 and this one is looking to be 35! (I’m currently 4DPO). For me even if we said we had switched off from trying I would’ve been lying to myself, we both see this as the next step for us and I’m 30 so not getting any younger. I felt very sad on the day of our 12 week scan though and had a little cry.

I think you have to do what’s right for the 2 of you, for us personally we knew stopping wouldn’t really have been stopping as I can feel ovulation so would’ve pounced on him anyway!

Sending you lots of love xxx

No good news for me this time 😞
Bleeding and cramps are continuing and I tested this morning and got BFN as expected.

This felt different to the MC I had in July , maybe because it was a little further along I don't know

If my cycle is back to normal I will expect my LH peak around 17th

Positive thoughts to you all Thanks

SMB20 · 04/09/2020 10:59

@123feraverto I’m so sorry you are going through this again. Life can be so cruel at times xx

Littlebee1990 · 07/09/2020 06:26

10DPO. Ladies I’m petrified, can’t get excited. It’s got colour in real life. My god please don’t let this end like the last one. 🤞🏼❤️ I’ve had ZERO symptoms.

Congratulations my love. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you that this one sticks, look after yourself and remember, take it a day and a step at a time.

I am now 7DPO, but yesterday I had really sharp pains in my stomach and this morning I’ve woken up with dull stomach pains and dull ache in my lower back. I’m guessing this is far too early to be anything and is all in my head? Any advice or positive words from anyone would be much appreciated! You can literally drive yourself crazy with every twinge! xxx

It's been so nice reading through these messages this morning. Especially @Littlebee1990 's news above.

I had an early miscarriage at 5+6 at the beginning of August on our first real cycle TTC and it really shook me as I think I hadn't ever realised how difficult getting and keeping a pregnancy can be.

I ended up ovulating again on the 23rd August, and because I'd read stories and reports of increased fertility that first month post MC, I was really hopeful I would get pregnant again straightaway. Sadly AF arrived yesterday so I was pretty disappointed, but trying to take it that my body wasn't ready just yet and need to get back into equilibrium.

It's particularly painful and heavy, but at least I can start working out cycle lengths again.

I'm sure my time will come again soon! I hope so...

Littlebee1990 · 08/09/2020 07:09

@penny92 I am so sorry, the AF after my CP hit me hard as I’d seen soooo many people get pregnant the cycle after. I hope this cycle is your cycle and AF goes away soon for you xx

Line had made some progression 🤞🏼 I know I shouldn’t test everyday but I just have zero self control.

Hi Everyone, may I join?! I miscarried at 11 weeks 😔 its now been 2 weeks and the bleeding is coming to a end I think ( still a bit coming through) me and my partner have decided we want to get straight on ttc, so I'm just hoping we don't have to wait to long! This was my first miscarriage and wow did it hit me hard! I have a DS who's 10, I think I will start doing the OPKs once I have stopped bleeding! X

Rumples · 08/09/2020 09:26

@Littlebee1990 can definitely see progression there! Fingers crossed it’s a sticky one!

I promised myself I wasn’t going to keep testing after I got my positive on a digital but I had one FRER left and couldn’t help myself this morning. I feel like there isn’t any difference between the 2nd and 3rd one - 12dpo and 14dpo - if anything it looks lighter.

I know I need to stop worrying but it’s so hard 🤦🏻‍♀️.

@Boo2020 so sorry to hear that 😔. Good luck on your next cycle, I’ve seen plenty of women get pregnant again straight away on here so hopefully that’s the same for you.

Littlebee1990 · 08/09/2020 09:44

@Rumples I don’t think the lines could get much darker, they look super strong! I know how hard it is not to POAS but they look great. Have you booked an early scan? Mine held my deposit last time but I’m not going to book anything until I’m over the 5 week mark, I’m 4+4 today according to dates x

OP posts:
Rumples · 08/09/2020 10:57

@Littlebee1990 I think I’ve googled line progression on FRER too much!

I’m going to book an early scan if I make it past 5 weeks too. Is it past 6 weeks that they can see if it is viable? Every day feels like a week at the minute. Need to keep myself busy so I don’t dwell!

SMB20 · 09/09/2020 22:34

@Littlebee1990 that is such wonderful news! Im so happy for you! Fingers crossed everything goes well (which I’m sure it was). I stopped taking the tests once i reached 6 weeks as was driving myself crazy!

Congrats @Rumples and I agree with @Littlebee1990 I don’t think the lines could get any darker!

I’m really sorry for your loss as well @Boo2020 xx
