TTC after a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage

Hi everyone, on a few really supportive threads on here but thought I’d make another for anyone who may be in a similar position to me and we can support eachother... I’m petrified of trying again after last month tbh.

Last week I thought our dreams had finally come true when I got 3 BFP (including a digital!).. a week later I was bleeding and a call to the EPU confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage.. so I’m back here and tomorrow will be CD1 cycle 4 (I know so many people have been trying so much longer) but just didn’t expect to be back so soon after getting a BFP.

So tomorrow marks CD5.. AF is due around 1st August and I promise to not POAS (apart from the one I need to pee on tomorrow to confirm the pregnancy is gone!) until 8th August if AF doesn’t show.. I can’t risk seeing a chemical and testing early again so have told myself never again will I test early.

Would love some buddies along the way with me 🤞🏼🌈❤️

@KeishaV could it be implantation bleeding? You can also still spot and bleed and keep your pregnancy. I know of quite a few people who spotted or bled the whole first trimester.
Sending BFP vibes to those who are still waiting xxx

EDW1 · 06/08/2020 06:27

@KeishaV I really hope it’s not but if you’re right I hope af hurries up to put you out of your misery and that next month is your month! It’s such a frustrating journey, no one tells you these bits do they! Wishing you all the best, keep us updated xx

KeishaV · 06/08/2020 08:00

@SMB20 I'm pretty sure, the lines are staying super faint and should be much darker by now for it not to be a chemical x

@EDW1 will do thank you

I tested again this morning as I can't help myself and will keep doing it until AF is fully here, that's was IC are for right? 😂 There's a super faint line but they've been like that since 10 DPO, I'm 13 DPO today. Still no more spotting as of yet

Morning everyone, AF arrived this morning so on to the next cycle? Any tips? I was thinking of trying pomegranate juice, maybe agnus cactus...

Are you taking vitamins? I've heard vitamin D can help with fertility so I'm taking that every day, as well as folic acid. Also doing things like exercising three times a week, and I'm also not drinking at the moment. Important thing right now is to take care of YOU, ready for next time xxx

I have pcos so not sure how much is relevant to ‘normal women’ but I took inofolic, vitamin d, spearmint tea, cut out caffeine and also ended up on metformin but that’s defo for pcos! Xxx

AF arrived this morning, cycle 5 we go!

Aww sorry @Littlebee1990

KeishaV · 07/08/2020 09:18

Thanks ladies, sorry to hear that @Littlebee1990 we're CD1 twins!

Definitely going to do lots of things for me this weekend ❤️

I'm currently taking pregnacare which has folic acid and vitamin D in. Definitely going to cut out alcohol, caffeine and try to cut down on sugar too. I love spearmint tea, what's it meant to help with? I'll have to get some in x

EDW1 · 07/08/2020 09:28

Worth a try!

I’m taking Vitamin S & Folic acid. Tracking BBT & using OPKS. I think we’re going to use pressed this cycle as I never see much EWCM. My boyfriend has cut down to 1 coffee a day and also taking some male fertility supplements. We’re both pretty fit and healthy and active. Not big drinkers but I’m not giving up the occasional gin until it’s a BFP!

I got a positive test yesterday. I feel very weird. I'm a bit anxious but not as much as I thought I would be. And I'm not excited at all. It's a bit like the test just means I could be pregnant eventually. I'm going to try not to keep testing but might again on Sunday to see what the line is like.

I've also been taking vitamin D & folic acid, cut back on caffeine (one massive cup of tea first thing and then decaf thereafter), and I cut back on booze. Like most of you not completely but obviously I will now. I like a beer particularly in this weather and actually the zero percent beers aren't too bad at all... the wine on the other hand Envy (not envy!)

SMB20 · 07/08/2020 12:22

Congrats @SequinCola I felt exactly the same! I will be 5 weeks if I make it to Monday and I’m starting to feel a bit of excitement and hope it might be ok now.

I’m sorry to the ladies who’s AF has arrived. I have everything crossed for next cycle for you all 💖

I cut out caffeine, alcohol and stopped eating as much junk (I don’t eat much generally but tried to cut back on the sugar). I also exercise about 3-4 times a week and was trying to be more active generally. Plus taking elevit, iron and B tablets. We also didn’t really stress about ovulation times this month and just had sex every other day at least but then every day when we did think I might be ovulating xxx

EDW1 · 07/08/2020 12:38

Congrats @SequinCola! X

Boc86 · 07/08/2020 13:02

Congratulations @SequinCola hope it’s your sticky baby
I can only imagine how it feels, I know I’ll be terrified the next time I get a bfp after 2 chemicals

123feraverto · 07/08/2020 19:42

I got some different OPK to use this time
These seems a lot better
Had a really strong positive this afternoon
So it's looking like my cycle is continuing as normal

Got a faint positive I think

Boc86 · 10/08/2020 09:56

Is that an opk? It’ll gradually get darker until it’s positive which is when the lines as dark as, or darker than the control line :)
Might be a little way off yet

123feraverto · 10/08/2020 10:05

@Mishmased

Got a faint positive I think
I've added a pic the profession of my OPKs

Doesn't count as positive until it's as dark as the control line

But yours is the start Smile

@Boc86 yes just started testing today tha makes
@123feraverto thanks so much for your pics, I'll test again tomorrow. For conceiving my two previously I tracked my cervical mucus. Once it got the egg white consistency I knew I was ovulating. Will year and be on the lookout for my friend the egg white 😊 thanks so much.

Beepbeep42 · 10/08/2020 22:04

CD6 here and I've just started cramping and bleeding again. How many more days can I expect this?

Congratulations @SequinCola !

So happy I found this thread. I had my bfp on a digital last week and yesterday I noticed Lots of bleeding with clots and it’s the most devastating feeling. I couldn’t eat or speak from the heartbreak. I feel so lost but hoping I can try again soon as my next cycle kicks in. Good luck to everyone and keep the BFPs coming!

Sorry to see you here @Lille4, hope you get back in track soon.x I'm 16 days post miscarriage started opk yesterday and I can see the difference between yesterday's and today's. I'm new to using them so I test once a day while watching for cm.
