Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way Sad I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

Thanks @OrdinaryLilac I refuse to give up hope just yet 💪🏻 x

notyetamumbuttrying · 07/07/2020 14:13

Hi @Whilstwewait I feel exactly the same as you, and our stories are not too dissimilar... ttc our first never been pregnant before, also 34 and Dh is 37. We're month 10 now and cycle 11 due to short cycles. Tried booking a drs apt at 9 months but she said it was too soon. Will call bk in August once we're in month 11 as it'll then be cycle 12 by then. I haven't read the whole thread yet but thought I'd join given the title and reading your first post.

PlanBea · 07/07/2020 15:21

@OrdinaryLilac I can never see these but I do think I can see a squinter in the second pic. Fingers crossed!

@Hayley19835 August sounds like ages away but honestly 2020 is going about a million miles an hour and it'll be here before you know it. Hope the wait isn't too long for you. We only got referred yesterday and I'm already impatient to see when DH's appointment will be, just to manage my own expectations.

Hayley19835 · 07/07/2020 15:31

@PlanBea to be fair they have been really good we were referred in October 2019 and our first apt was in the December then March was our 3 month follow up and OH's SA retest which is when we discovered his count he got even lower dispite doing all of the things she advised us to do/try. We should of gone again in June but due to Covid everything had been put on hold so now we go August. Your right 2020 has flown by! Hopefully you won't have to wait too long 🤞🏻 x

PlanBea · 07/07/2020 15:39

@Hayley19835 we were supposed to refer in January (I had my GP tests in October/November so we would be ready to go), then I got offered a new job so we thought to leave it until I was in my new role and eligible for SMP, as my career had been on hold for a while already while waiting to have a baby. Still kept going for a natural pregnancy but would have been better to not be on Maternity Allowance! Then as I started my new job covid hit so it's been a 6 month delay instead of 3. By now I'm almost eligible for full maternity pay which will be a nice bonus at least haha (got to look at the silver linings!) Honestly while it's annoying looking back at a 6 month delay it's been such a crazy year it kind of doesn't feel like it's been that long?

Whilstwewait · 07/07/2020 16:37

Sorry been quiet girls. Works been manic and nothing really happening with me. Im having the longest period ever. Cycle day 6 and 3 days of spotting before i even started so day 9 of bleeding now. Surely not normal. My period used to be 3 days max when i first came off the pill so no idea what's going on

@OrdinaryLilac I can definitely see something in the pic you posted. Hope it gets darkers for you. Keep us posted

@Motherofkittens28 sorry you've been feeling down. Hope you're feeling a bit better now. Im not on meds but my husband was and coming off them was awful for him. I do think too much stress off them may be worse than actually taking them. I did think tablets were fine when TTC so sorry your doctor told you otherwise. Frustrating about your test. Did they tell you the figure?

@Chel93 sorry to hear that you think its bad news. What did they test for? Hopefully the doctor can just call you to discuss rather than wait for an appointment x

@Hayley19835 sorry you find yourself here as well and about your MC must have been awful. Its good you're under the clinic now. What was your FSH? My doctors told me mine was fine but it was 9.8 and i think they expect under 9 so I'll be glad to have my first fertility appointment. I just feel for me its time to leave it with the experts and just do what they say. So im trying not to go mad googling x

@notyetamumbuttrying hi sorry its taking you longer than u wanted. Its so frustrating with doctors but definitely arrange your tests as soon as you can as they take a while. Hopefully they'll all come back fine. The one year hit me so hard but we are exploring private treatment now but hoping we get a BFP before then. Its nice to be on a group with people going through the same thing and really supportive. Xx

@Whilstwewait
FSH was 18 and LH 4.2 they've told me I could be Pre menopausal so waiting to see what these results came back as 🤞🏻

Luce89 · 07/07/2020 19:34

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining. We're on cycle 13, had blood tests, internal ultrasound, 21 day test and all has come back fine. Waiting on a hycosy but currently on CD21 and not even ovulated yet. I'm 29 and dh is 39. Starting to feel really down about it now, and even feeling resentment towards people who complain after about 4 months of trying! Which is of course just bitterness and wish i didn't feel that way Sad

OrdinaryLilac · 08/07/2020 07:54

I'm on a very down day today.
Further pg tests this morning, all negatives.
Still not AF. This hasn't happened to me before so I really do not know what's going on.

Contacted the gp office, awaiting a call back. Atlesst I secured an appointment!

Not very happy 😔

Jilly1988 · 08/07/2020 08:37

Hi All I hope you don’t mind me joining. I am on cycle 13 and from reading feel the same way as you all do. I’m 31 and husband is 33 and TTC #1. I have had an ultrasound And blood tests and hubby been checked but everything came back ok. Though I seem to have quite short cycles and this month my temp didn’t rise and I had mid cycle bleeding 3dpo. It’s all very frustrating. I started acupuncture yesterday so going to see what comes from that.

PlanBea · 08/07/2020 10:34

@OrdinaryLilac sorry to hear today is being tough Flowers. My GP was a bit useless on my unexplained long cycle - just to keep POAS every week until my period started. I think mine was an annovulatory cycle without any progesterone. Have you read taking charge of your fertility? It was really reassuring for me when I went through the same. Hoping yours is just an incoming bfp though

Hi @Jilly1988 were your tests NHS? Are they referring you on for further care? Is your acupuncture a private one? I think I'd like to try it but I don't think the private ones have opened up near me

@Luce89 I remember the feeling when I was a few months in of "why hasn't it happened yet?" - I actually think I was a bit crazier about it then than I am now, as I've had a whole year more disappointment and learning to know that a few months is nothing in TTC terms. I'd rather hear someone complain about 4 months and nothing than hear about someone who accidentally got pregnant by looking at their DH though. Hearing friends say they got pregnant immediately makes it really hard to be happy (of course I'm happy for them but it's all those complicated emotions!). Hopefully you get your ovulation soon and can move from the annoyance of waiting for that into the annoyance of the two week wait haha

Nat4392 · 08/07/2020 13:22

Hi ladies can I join?
I’m 28 and DH is 30, currently on cycle #12 For DC1. I’ve plucked up the courage to ring the doctors this month and have a telephone consultation in the morning. It’s technically not been a year as I have short cycles but 12 cycles in, I’m going insane!
Hi @notyetamumbuttrying 🙋🏻‍♀️

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/07/2020 13:55

Hey @Nat4392! I nearly tagged you in this thread as I thought you'd find it useful 😌
Good luck for the morning, update us on the fb group!

Chel93 · 08/07/2020 14:11

@Whilstwewait im not really sure I had 2 blood tests one on day 2 and one on day 21, got a phone call this morning to say my blood results come back as normal so they are going to bring my appointment forward so soons the clinic opens up again they are going to get me in soon as possible 🤞🤞

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/07/2020 15:53

That's great news @Chel93! Hope all goes well for you! 💐

Fran2020 · 08/07/2020 16:03

@Chel93 That's good those tests are normal! Hopefully you'll have an appointment soon!

Hayley19835 · 08/07/2020 16:16

That's good those tests came back normal @Chel93 hopefully you won't be waiting too long for your appointment 🤞🏻

Chel93 · 08/07/2020 16:21

@notyetamumbuttrying @fran @Hayley19835
Thank you very much hoping I get an appointment quick now and find out whats going on hit 18 month mark now 😩

Fran2020 · 08/07/2020 16:50

@Chel93 I hope so too! This process is harder than I could've ever imagined! 😔

Hayley19835 · 08/07/2020 16:57

@Chel93 are you going NHS or private? X

Jilly1988 · 08/07/2020 17:06

Thanks @PlanBea yes they were through NHS. I was getting some mid cycle bleeding so I got referred before the 1 year mark. They discharged us because blood tests and ultra sound were fine. But my cycles can be really short and not sure if I ovulated this month so obviously some up. It’s just all a lot of hard work. I had heard great things about acupuncture so decided to go for it, I will give anything a try. Yes the one I’ve started going to just opened this week.

Jilly1988 · 08/07/2020 17:10

@Fran2020 I completely agree with this process being harder than imagined. I thought it would be so straight forward or at least within 6 months. Worse when people say it will happen when you least expect it or try not to worry about it and it will happen... after over a year not thinking or worrying about it is more and more difficult each month.

Chel93 · 08/07/2020 17:17

@Fran2020 it really is so hard isnt it how are you getting on?
@hayley19835 NHS i waited till 12 months and got reffered to the infertility clinic was thinking about going private as was told on Friday id be waiting for my results and my next appointment october but got my results this morning and there going to get me in the next available appointment, how are you getting on

Fran2020 · 08/07/2020 17:29

@Jilly1988 That's what I thought too! Everyone I know seemed to have got pregnant really quickly. Yeah it's hard when people say things like "just relax and it'll happen"!! I've got my first acupuncture session tonight as one has opened back up near me! Looking forward to it especially as today is a peak day so timing is good too.

@Chel93 Well, it's our 13th cycle now. I had the blood tests at CD4 and CD21 at the doctors and the results came back as fine. My partner is booked in for a SA next Friday as they have started taking bookings again.

Hayley19835 · 08/07/2020 17:34

@Chel93 that's good hopefully it's soon then for you! October is far too long! So we at the 7 month mark under the fertility clinic through NHS first apt was December then had a phone consult in March as they couldn't see us due to Covid and now next apt is August as been delayed should of been June. I've had my FSH and LH retested this cycle to check where my levels are at and OH is having his ultrasound and genetic bloods this Friday 😬 so hoping by August we'll know where we are at and hopefully get a plan x
