Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way Sad I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

Annnnd here's AF. This is my first short cycle (26 days), I usually have cycles 31-33 days. Oh well, maybe July will be my month! Kind of glad the spotting has stopped now as I can start focusing on new.

This month I'm going to start doing more fertility yoga and focusing more on my healthy eating. I don't eat badly but going to really ensure I get my 2-3 oily fish a week as I don't really like fish and start snacking on cashews/almonds, more berries, that kind of thing, instead of chocolate.

OrdinaryLilac · 05/07/2020 11:47

Oh @planbea, I'm sorry Sad. Try not be disheartened, tough as it may be. We are all going to get there one day I'm sure!

I have been quite lucky up to press, still no AF (please stay away). I had cramping yesterday afternoon for about 45 minutes and have had none since. I'm praying that it was implantation cramps. Which would time out about right if I did infact ovulate around CD 27. I'm now on CD33. I'd really love to see 2 blaringly obvious lines after 12 months!!

Whilstwewait · 05/07/2020 12:04

@Motherofkittens28 aw sorry to hear she has arrived. A new cycle now and a new chance. Really hope this is your montn.

@OrdinaryLilac positive signs 🤞when will you test. I do hope its your month.be lovely to get a positive on this group x

@PlanBea aw sorry to hear the witch arrived. Here's hoping this is your month. Im going to try the healthy stuff as well. After last month I thought what's the point i didnt get pregnant anyway but the month I did all my smoothies I didn't get my spotting so maybe it does help. So im trying to be good as I can be as I want to give myself the best chance if we do have IVF.

I think its 80% of people get pregnant within a year then 90% within 2 years. So frustrating being in the 20% that didnt. I do think a lot of it is just luck if no issues though. Eventually we would get pregnant but im not willing at wait at 34.

Ive had an up and down weekend. My bloods arrived from dcotors and FSH is slightly higher than what's considered normal. So that sent me down the google rabbit hole which doesn't help. I've gone from scrapping all vitamins to maybe concentrating on those that help egg quality so im in the best position for IVf if it comes to that. Im also going to ask consultant for progesterone to stop my spotting whilst we wait. I do feel so much bette today though. I just need to try and forget about it all but its so hard xx

@Whilstwewait I have been really naughty and have been religiously testing... all negatives so far though unfortunately. I haven't had a 33 day cycle since September 2019 so it is an unusual month, but has been known before. I'm thinking, and holding out hope, that yesterday's cramping was implantation after a late ovulation. So I think I'm currently only 6dpo, but that didn't stop me from being the poas addict that I am haha. So I wouldn't expect to see any lines just yet, I don't think? We can only wait and see I guess.

Glad to hear you're having a better day. And we are all here for further support.
But do stay away from Google, as hard as that is haha.

Praying for us all xx

PlanBea · 05/07/2020 12:42

@Whilstwewait it feels really unfair sometimes, particularly when you've spent all your adult life avoiding pregnancy and being told if you so much as think about sex you're going to get pregnant. To then find out it's not your time yet despite planning on it sucks. Are you being seen by a fertility consultant? With moving house and changing jobs we took the pressure off the medical side of things in February, now I'm in my job I'd get SMP (and if we take another nine weeks (lol) I'll get full maternity, which would be a perk but not necessary) so I have another GP appointment on Monday to start back up the medical investigation side.

@OrdinaryLilac how many dpo are you? My fingers are well and truly crossed for you.

OrdinaryLilac · 05/07/2020 13:23

@planbea i think I'm 6dpo... And I say think, well here's what's happened.

This is my first month fully tracking ovulation. My cycles are anything usually around 30 days but they do fluctuate but as I have them every month without fail, I assumed I ovulated mid cycle like most people. I purchased a clear blue fertility monitor and around cd11 it started testing and a few days later I got a high reading. So from low then to high. Ten days passed and it was still high so I decided to stop testing. Then on cycle day 27 I though why not just do a normal opk. And it was positive! Stupidly, I didn't test the next day because I was just really confused. But a few days later and since they've been negative. So I believe I ovulated around cd27, not sure if it stretched to cd26 either.. But I'm now on CD33. I don't feel that it was an lh surge before AF. I'd have thought she'd have been here by now. Really not sure how it works with late ovulators, if anyone has any insight?

PlanBea · 06/07/2020 13:42

@OrdinaryLilac did you dtd around the time of your high OPK? I do charting instead of OPKs because they are pretty sensitive to missing surges that last a few hours and missing peak. I'm sure someone will have more experience with them. Fingers crossed for you, you aren't out yet!

I had a gp appointment today with my new GP, getting a third CD21 this month and my DH is getting a sperm analysis test, he'll be sent a date in the post. So progress is being made. Once they're back we will be referred to fertility either way as it's been so long. Hoping this will lower my stress and it will all happen naturally by magic now haha

Motherofkittens28 · 06/07/2020 14:22

Hi all, sorry I've been a bit quiet, when AF came this month it hit me really bad so I've just been feeling sorry for myself. Still haven't heard anything back on my progesterone blood test and I'm getting fed up with being angry about it. I've emailed today to ask for their complaints procedure so I can make a formal complaint. I'm also coming off my antidepressants which is making me feel awful, but I'd read that they might be preventing pregnancy, which would have been great to be told when I specifically asked my Dr this question after 6 months of trying. I'm a terrible grump today lol !

PlanBea · 06/07/2020 16:13

@Motherofkittens28 I think sometimes we just need to embrace the grump. Mine has been a tearful month after last month not affecting me so badly. I hope you start to feel more positive soon.

What antidepressants are you on? I take duloxetine as pain/anxiety medication and will need to come off them if we ever are successful ttc

Chel93 · 06/07/2020 19:14

I finally got through to the fertility clinic today i asked for my blood results she asked for all my details got them up and said she'll get the doctor to send me a letter with the results she can't give me them on the phone she said my app isn't till the end of October so she's going to get me on the cancellation list to try and get me in before then so doesnt look hopeful on results 😢

Motherofkittens28 · 06/07/2020 19:30

@PlanBea I'm on venlafaxine, apparently one of the worst ones to come off. Sorry to hear you've had a tearfull one this month, its funny how it effects us differently different months isn't it? Fingers crossed for both of us next month!

OrdinaryLilac · 07/07/2020 07:51

Good Morning all,

@planbea we dtd around time of first high reading, abs a couple of days before the positive opk if I remember right. But I thought we'd missed the slot before I got the last positive opk.. Turns out that not trying too hard might have worked in my favour...

AF still is a no show and I have this morning what I believe is a squinter.. Really squinty squinter, but I see something. So from positive opk on CD27, I'm currently 8/9DPO ish. I'm just really hoping this turns out to be something. Please stick, please stick!!

I haven't even told DP.. He didn't even want me to talk about the no show AF. Its been a long, hard year. Trying not to get my hopes up, will test again tomorrow and hopefully the line will be clearer.

Wishing myself luck. Wishing us all luck.

Motherofkittens28 · 07/07/2020 08:54

@OrdinaryLilac I have my fingers firmly crossed for you xxx

Gemsy18 · 07/07/2020 09:16

Morning ladies, still no sign of af was due yesterday and getting a bfn also still getting cramp pains on and off now which been happening for the past week 😥🤷‍♀️

OrdinaryLilac · 07/07/2020 09:19

Thank you @Motherofkittens28 ❤️ xx

@Gemsy18 this is what's been happening to me. I was pretty crampy on Saturday. A little yesterday but nothing major. Im about 5 days late and have been getting BFN. But this morning I'm pretty certain I have a squinter. But only time will tell. Would be lovely to have good news on this post. Hang in there! You never know.

Gemsy18 · 07/07/2020 09:31

@OrdinaryLilac it's the not knowing and waiting I hate. Oh fingers crossed for you then. I'm normally like clock work with af and cramp pain I been getting past week is unusual for me only get them day before af shows up think my body playing tricks this month. Hopefully we both get some good news this month 🥰

OrdinaryLilac · 07/07/2020 10:41

Well perhaps that's a really good sign @Gemsy18 !

Wishing us all the best.

I will be back with further updates. Hopefully I will have some pregression and pray that my body isn't playing horrible cruel tricks on me!

Gemsy18 · 07/07/2020 11:13

@OrdinaryLilac yes I'm hoping my body isnt playing horrible tricks also. All fingers crossed for us both 🤞

PlanBea · 07/07/2020 12:02

@OrdinaryLilac oh good luck! Was the super squinter a FRER? I'm terrible at spotting lines posted on the threads here when people ask but someone else might be able to give some reassurance

Fingers crossed for you @Gemsy18. It sounds like a good sign!

I'm feeling a bit more optimistic today. My period was only 2 days, so I'm almost certain my problem is progesterone based. So my CD21 should pick this up at the end of the month, and my doctor seems to be keen to refer us on after a negative (my last doctor didn't). And I'm eating all the progesterone boosting foods. It feels like I'm actually doing something, which makes a change!

Motherofkittens28 · 07/07/2020 12:59

Hi all, just got my blood test results for the day 21 progesterone test = inconclusive... helpful. He suggests doing another test this month. So annoying that even paying for this hasn't provided any answers!

Hayley19835 · 07/07/2020 13:07

I'm at 3 years of TTC#1
I'm 36 and OH is 42 with one child from a previous relationship. Had a miscarriage in dec 18 at 7 weeks. Now under local fertility clinic. All my tests have come back normal apart from FSH which is high have just retested this this cycle. OH is going for an ultrasound and genetic bloods this Friday.l as his SA came back low. It's been a long journey but I never give up hope of seeing that BFP again x

PlanBea · 07/07/2020 13:46

@Motherofkittens28 oh that sucks. Was this your first CD21? I was told I needed two for a referral onwards. Have you got your next one scheduled in?

PlanBea · 07/07/2020 13:48

@Hayley19835 sorry to hear about your MC. It sounds like you're being taken care of. When is your next FSH test? While it's good your tests have come back ok in a way it's frustrating as if they found something you'd feel like there's something you could do to try and change things rather than just keep doing the same each month. Hopefully you get some answers soon

OrdinaryLilac · 07/07/2020 13:56

@planbea it was on a wandfo. Have done a year's worth of online research on forums such as this one (lol), I saw wandfo crop up a number of times. Might be an American thing?? But anyway, ordered some off amazon. I've had clear white and single white tests up until today where I'm pretty sure I have a squinter. So perhaps I can borrow someone's eyes and thoughts? Glad you're feeling optimistic. Be positive, I think that is key! Keep at your doctors till you get the results you want!

@Motherofkittens28 sorry to hear this, it really must be frustrating 😔

@Hayley19835 sorry to hear of your MC. Keep going, I have high hopes for us all. We're here to support you.
