@seafrontsky that sounds like a really tough decision for you and oh. I get what you mean about defining what the op is for. Me and OH also spoke about saying what happens but not chasing it and he brought that up when I asked him to go to the drs. I also think exploration is important. If the answer is no, we can just stop all the stress. On the other hand, they could find something that's very easy to fix. I know you were a bit wary about the op too so hopefully your decision is sitting well with both of you.

Hoping41 · 23/06/2020 16:47

@dizzttc welcome to the group. Best of luck for this cycle

Hoping41 · 23/06/2020 16:48

@ kk25129 @mummyofzog so sorry to hear af has arrived. It's really shit. Especially when something has happened to get your hopes up.

Fraucherie · 23/06/2020 17:07

Hey everyone, I am a bit of a lurker, but we're at 10 months ttc #2 and I feel like I need some support at this point. AF due Sat. Every month I am convinced it is the month, and it's ultimately not! We didn't even try for my son, so this has been unexpected. I am trying to think of it as a life lesson on patience, but I am 37 now, so time isn't on my side. Best of luck to you all!

Hi all im very new to this site so don't know all the abbreviations your using 😊 so bear with me.

Im 38, I have 3 children. History of 4 early miscarriages in the past. My children are 17, 13 and 11. I know I'm mad atarting again but my 3 children were to my previous marriage so me and my partner would like one together. I saud no for 5 years then 🤷‍♀️.

Anyway. I stopped the pill 6th June. I had slight spotting 10th 2 days then nothing.
I've not a clue when I'm ovulating or if I even am. Ive had cramping.
I started using ovulation tests and thought they weren't working but not looking back it looks like I ovulated around 19th.
When do I do pregnancy test now?

I really don't think It will be positive this time but you never know.
In one way I want a period so I know where I'm at, on the other hand I dont 🤞

Thank-you any advice greatly appreciated xx

Hayleywoody82 · 23/06/2020 17:12

Sorry wanted to show you pics of ovulation tests but don't know how I add pic,? Xx

Swifty2 · 23/06/2020 17:15

Welcome @Hayleywoody82 @Fraucherie!

Hayley if you ov'd (ovulated) on 19th then you are officially in you tww (two week wait)! I'd probably test on 3rd July (14dpo - days past ovulation) unless AF (aunt flo - period) turns up before then!

The pill can mess with you though so you might find this cycle is a bit longer or shorter. When I came off the pill I think my first cycle was about 40 days long! Good luck!

Swifty2 · 23/06/2020 17:16

@Hayleywoody82 when you go to reply there is a little paper clip that you click on to add a picture!

Hayleywoody82 · 23/06/2020 17:28

Thank-you fingers crossed 🤞

Fraucherie · 23/06/2020 17:36

Thank you for having me! I feel like I am going to be completely devastated this month if it doesn't happen, so I appreciate this thread! I felt cramping at about 5dpo which is unusual for me, ad I haven't had any cramping leading up to Sat, which is always unusual. But honestly, every month I find something to convince me! I always get extremely sore boobs the day after I ovulate, and always have, so that is not a reliable indicator for me, as they're agony every month, and were the month I got pregnant with my son!

CurbsideProphet · 23/06/2020 18:44

Hello all, I've been mostly lurking through the threads. AF is imminent for me now. Cycle 8. I'm taking it very hard after so many months of disappointment and 2 chemical pregnancies. I'm also looking at having to apply for a new role at work after the service review ends in the summer. Sometimes it all just comes along at the same time!

Aokbaby · 23/06/2020 19:34

@MummyOfZog oh no, it's so weird about the fr test though, hope you're ok!!

Yea @Swifty2 I think the pill made me really sad and had like brain fog, I was on it for a long time so hopefully my body gets back to the way it should be soon.

Aokbaby · 23/06/2020 19:37

Hi to all the new ladies!!
@CurbsideProphet I know what you mean,I got married, bought a house and started a very stressful new job when we started TTC, definitely not easy when everything happens at once and then people tell you not to stress....ahhh!!.

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/06/2020 20:48

Hi new ladies! So I just had to share what DH said to me..."so how long until we find out" me, "2 weeks" and also me, "how long have we been ttc and you're only asking me now how long until we know". Men lol! Btw it's coming up 10 months in July, how does he not know already lol! I even told him the abbreviations for two week wait 😂

Aokbaby · 23/06/2020 21:13

@notyetamumbuttrying haha they're all the same. I told my DH that if I get pregnant this cycle (af due next week)then I'll be 4 weeks pregnant, could not get his head around this at all 🤣 lots of explanation required!!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/06/2020 21:51

Bless them eh @Aokbaby 😂

Annny27 · 23/06/2020 23:02

@notyetamumbuttrying men know nothing do they 🤣 I know everything about his sperms probably and he knows nothing about my hormones or reproductive system ahah

KK251289 · 24/06/2020 02:42

Welcome to all of the newbies.

So I'm having my usual 2am I wont ever conceive panic, atleast I'm off work this week so I wont stress about having no sleep. I keep getting these bursts of being so positive then so negative, damn hormones.

jlmul9 · 24/06/2020 03:20

Hi all. Newbie here and loving the vibes of this group! Came off the pill 5 yrs ago but have been trying trying for 10 months now. I'm 33, DH is 38 TTC #1. Have hypothyroidism and high prolactin it turned out and am on medication for that since Aug 19. Referred to an OBGYN in April and going for a HSG next Monday on CD8. AF arrived on Monday Sad so CD3.

I've only used apps to track ovulation so far and temped for a month, but trying opks this cycle and back to temping. My cycles are on the long side (30-38 days ish) so going to see if the apps have been wrong so far in predicting ovulation. Hoping this will finally be our month 🤞🏼

Tink2019 · 24/06/2020 09:18

@jlmul9 Your situation sounds quite similar to mine - came off the pill 7.5 years ago, 34, have been trying properly for ten months^^ and my cycles are long (average 32 - mine are also irregular varying from 27 to 37 days). On my next cycle I'm having bloods first few days then a scan day 7 so guess it's a similar scan to you. Hope all goes ok with the scan for you 🤞🏻

Ladies, this is probably too much info, but I'm not sure I'm producing enough EWCM...looking back at my cycles I get it sporadically (think this must be when my body tries to ovulate and fails) and the cycles I defo seem to ovulate I get it for just two days prior to ovulation. Does this sound OK? Was thinking about giving the Robitussin cough medicine a go if not!

Seafrontsky · 24/06/2020 10:26

Welcome ladies to the clan @Fraucherie @Hayleywoody82 @jlmul9 @CurbsideProphet @Dizzttc

I'm sorry AF arrived @KK251289 and @MummyOfZog. It's so hard isn't it month after month, then especially when you get your Hope's up with spotting and other unusual happenings. Hope you are all ok. I've been listening to the fearlessly fertile podcast someone recommended which has helped me try to reframe my period arriving as not being a failure but a good thing. I'm finding it helpful.

@Hoping41 thank you. It has been difficult but I'm happy we are in agreement. He really stews on things and it takes him days to decide how he thinks and feels whereas I'm steaming ahead without really thinking. So in that sense I'm grateful. We will give it some time and I'll call the GP and consultant and see what we can do about HSG/postponing. My fertility massage lady was v helpful too. She doesn't think from knowing me they will find anything, but says very occasionally they might find endo or something. I'm carrying on with castor oil packs and positive mindset that it will happen with time. 🧡

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/06/2020 12:53

@Tink2019 try grapefruit juice for ewcm. Have a glass a day 5 days before you think you'll ov. That improved mine! And getting it two days before is normal, it's always a few days before you ov, well from what I've read from others as well as my own experience.

jlmul9 · 24/06/2020 13:03

Thank you @Seafrontsky x

@Tink2019 Wow so similar! The HSG will hopefully see if there are any blockages/fibroids/polyps in there. Don't think it will be the latter two as my periods are pretty normal in flow, length and come when they're expected for the most part. If it's a blockage, a HSG can actually help open them up so maybe this will be what it takes for us! Clomid may be a good idea for you if you think ovulation is failing, I think doc is going to try that with me next time I see him on 21/7.

DSC1 · 24/06/2020 13:06

Hi all, had a few days off from thinking about the TTC especially with my scan coming up on Monday.

Sorry about those ladies who have had AF arrive @KK251289 I hope you’re doing ok. Horrible to see a faint line and then have AF appear.
@Seafrontsky did you decide about what you are going to do?

Welcome to all the new ladies @Fraucherie your situation sounds a little like mine... I’m about to turn 36 and have been TTC #2 since September.

For some reason I’ve decided not to use OPKs this month... just want a month off and also have anniversary and bdays in what should be my FW so just figured I will allow myself a month to relax, have some wine and try to go with the flow.
