@notyetamumbuttrying no probs,
Sounds like a good plan for you.

Just to say also, when I was using the digital advance (purple), when I got the static smiley (surge) you can't then test again with that holder until next cycle. I then used the pink sticks each day, to see how long the surge was.

X

Jungle25 · 05/08/2020 17:53

@lamby12

Thanks for your reply!

Ok, so I have been testing once a day with clearblue advanced but never get the flashing smiley face...one morning it will be blank and the next it's static face? So should I maybe test twice a day days nearer to ovulation even when I've had blank in the morning to see if I can catch it! ??
I'm pondering whether to purchase the clearblue fertility app monitor on the clearblue connected...but cant bring myself to spend all that money when they advanced ones and even Amazon cheapies probably work just as well🤷‍♀️

Think I need to also do a month of just not testing and just dtd every other day...but when it comes to the crunch I just cant help testing!

Feel like I must be doing something wrong somewhere ....

Thanks x

I am the same with testing😐

I also say won't test until I am late then 8,9,10 dpo comes and I just have to 😐

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/08/2020 18:50

Great tips @lamby12 thanks again! I'm expecting the static tonight now, but we'll see. I've already had the smiley on the pink one so guess I can't use that again this cycle now.

AmesK · 05/08/2020 19:06

Hi everyone! Can I join? Just feeling a bit lonely as have been TTC for 2 years and a friend just announced yesterday she’s pregnant within 6 weeks of coming off the pill. I know this sounds terrible but I’m feeling super down now and feel like I’ve given up.
Thank you for reading, just wanted some support x

Jungle25 · 05/08/2020 19:20

@amesk

I hear you!! Its a very hard journey! And for some ppl it does just seem to happen!

We've been trying for a year with a mc just few months ago and it's hard it really is! Esp when you hear of other ones close that are pregnant!

Dont have any advice! But you will get there! Have u had any tests or anything by your dcr!

It can be a lonely journey! But I just very hopeful it will happen for us one day! But in the meantime trying to keep restful and not stressed is easier said than done!

X

AmesK · 05/08/2020 19:44

@Jungle25 Thank you for your support! I’m really sorry to hear about your loss, you’ve said it right, it really is a very tough time. Sending you lots of Flowers and baby dust your way and I hope you get your sticky bean very soon!!

I know I shouldn’t stress myself but who’s going to tell my brain that? Grin It’s a very hard journey and I hate the way it’s made me feel. I hate being such a misery guts and feeling resentful when friends announce pregnancies. I’m not a horrible person I promise and I hate my own behaviour. Don’t know if that makes sense!

I’ve had investigations- endo and PCOS so I feel like I have even more to fight against :(

Tink2019 · 05/08/2020 20:29

@AmesK I also don't really have any advice, just wanted you to know you're not alone - we've been trying for almost a year and have had multiple close friends announce pregnancies recently, all of which just happened without any trying. I felt really shitty and cried to my husband after each announcement and then felt doubly shitty for being a shit friend! Have you been referred to a fertility clinic yet? If not, I'd push for it. Also, and I hope you don't mind me asking, how was your endo diagnosed?

Hang in there and vent on here as much as you need to xx

Jungle25 · 05/08/2020 20:52

I could've written this myself! You are happy for them but you just so desperately want it to be you! Sometimes just feel like screaming! All I want is a baby...and it just doesn't seem to be happening and is harder when you hear of it happening quickly for others! It's so so hard and so emotional!

I wish the whole journey was less stressful but the longer it goes on the worse it gets! I get my Hope's up each month only to be crushed by af!

But we aren't giving up 🤞🤞🙏! Hoping v much u get your bfp v v soon

Xxxx

AmesK · 05/08/2020 20:58

@Tink2019 Thanks so much for this! Really nice to have some kind words as this journey is so lonely! I know exactly how you feel with the whole doubly shitty thing- feel crap about the pregnant friend and then feel crap about feeling crap. It’s a vicious cycle!

I understand how difficult it is when you’ve been trying for a while so I am sending you lots and lots and lots of baby dust!

So my endo was diagnosed because of my excruciatingly painful and heavy periods- sent for an ultrasound by my GP who referred me on because of the polycystic ovaries and the fact that I hadn’t managed to get a BFP. Then at my Gynae appointment, the consultant said I needed a laparoscopy to help treat the endo- he was pretty convinced it was endo by the description of my cycle and so the lap was done, which did indeed show endo! I am under his care now (he’s a fertility specialist) but have had no contact with the team since all this coronavirus stuff started :(

I feel I have so much to battle against and I am
now spiralling towards just always feeling sorry for myself, which is a bad thing I know but I can’t help it anymore. Plus, I feel less and less positive with each day- normally I would be symptom spotting and desperately BDing as much as possible. This cycle I’ve just given up :(

Thank you for listening! I hope you got your BFP soon! Are you getting any investigations done or not just yet? Xx

Tink2019 · 05/08/2020 21:13

@AmesK it really is so lonely - I also feel guilty sometimes that I can't seem to give my husband the one thing he's always wanted (he wanted a family when we first got together years ago, but I wasn't ready). I really hope you get a positive result soon ✨ xx

We've had initial tests - consultant suspected PCOS, endo or both based on my symptoms and long / irregular cycles, but I think endo is more likely from what I've read about it. Also, initial tests are all normal and not indicative of PCOS. I have a Clomid prescription (but trying soy isoflavones first) and then if Clomid doesn't work I'll need a laparoscopy - already feel nervous about it so was hoping you'd say you were diagnosed / treated for endo another way but it does seem that is really the only way 👎🏻

Aokbaby · 05/08/2020 21:25

Hi ladies sorry to change the subject but just wondering if any of you experience areola changes before ovulation? I never have before but my left breast areola has changed slightly, it's not really circular, it's almost as if it's been extended at the bottom, it's about the size of a 5p bigger? Doesn't hurt or anything and only noticed when getting dressed this morning, just a bit concerned?

Jungle25 · 05/08/2020 21:43

If I can ask another question...

Before my mc earlier this year my cycles were pretty regular ..29/30 days... my 1st cycle after mc came 28 after but since that they've been bit all over the place...another at 28, then one at 33 then this one looking like 26?? And they have been very light...like stopping after 2 day ( they were normally least 5 before mc) Is this classed as irregular cycles? I know mc can mess cycles up ...but 4 months later and still not right can than be normal?

I never get at flashing face on CB ovulation...seems to go from low to peak! Can this be lack of estrogen and maybe adding to why I'm not getting pregnant?

I reading into everything and getting in a mess!!

Be glad of any help?

AmesK · 05/08/2020 21:53

@Jungle25 Completely agree with everything you’ve said, especially the bit about wanting to scream Wink It’s very overwhelming and the waiting and the mind games and the desperation each month makes it soul destroying!

I admire your optimism! Maybe vibe some of that my way if you can Hahah! Here’s sending you lots of baby dust and hoping your BFP is right around the corner! Xx

Ahhh I see! Try not to worry too much about the lap! It’s great that you’ve got clomid as an option first though and I’m hoping you’ll have luck before you even need to get started on that!
The lap was helpful in a few way, if you don’t mind me sharing. Prior to the lap, my periods were very very very painful, to the point that I regularly had to take time off work and was pretty much non functional for 3-4 days in a row. Plus, I often couldn’t BD because of the pain, regularly crying out for my partner to stop mid way (TMI I know, I’m so sorry). However, post the lap, I no longer have that level of pain during AF and DTD feels almost completely pain free now on most occasions- just had a twinge or two a couple of times and that’s it! So the lap might sound scary but it’s a relatively simple procedure and it can help :)

Also, completely hear you about the guilt side of things. I’m in the same boat :( But thank you for your good wishes and I also am sending you massively positive ‘you shall get your BFP super soon’ vibes Smile xxx

Tink2019 · 05/08/2020 22:17

@AmesK I'm exactly the same with periods - although not every cycle - and we can pretty much only DTD a couple of ways otherwise it's painful. Hopefully it won't get to a lap like you said, but glad that it helped for you x

@Aokbaby hmmm have you asked our good friend google? If doesn't change back in a day or so I'd be tempted to see a dr just to put your mind at rest x

@Jungle25 I'm so sorry you had a mc. I have irregular cycles (26 cycle before last, 38 last cycle 🤦🏼‍♀️) so I feel your pain. I think if you're getting a peak OPK though that's a good thing and I wouldn't worry if it goes from low to peak. Do you bbt chart? That can be useful for spotting hormonal irregularities - estrogen lowers your temp and progesterone raises it. It's the only way you can 100% confirm you've ovulated x

Aokbaby · 05/08/2020 22:47

Hey @Tink2019 yea can't seem to find anything, there's loads on aerola getting darker when pregnant but can't seem to find anything like this. I'm due to ovulate soon so maybe it's just that🤔I'll wait it out and see if it goes away in a few days

Florence13 · 06/08/2020 08:49

@AmesK sorry to hear your having such a tough time but we are definitely all here for support. Keeping my fingers crossed your BFP is not to far away.

@Aokbaby sorry not sure about the areola thing as I’ve never experienced it myself but could be hormonal changes due to ovulation.

@Jungle25 sorry to hear about your MC but I know it can mess with your cycles for quite some time. Although slightly different in length they are not majorly long cycles so I wouldn’t worry to much and not varying more than 7 days which is a good sign.

Hi. I know how you feel, we have been TTC for 2 years too.Confused It's hard to hear stories especially when you hear that it's first go and it happened or they didn't even try 😐 I so understand this.

Have you been to GP yet to see what's happening? I just took the plunge now to make appointment.

@Florence13 Thanks for your support! It means a lot :)

Dbop100 · 06/08/2020 09:48

Morning ladies

It's CD9 and I've just got my static smiley face, a little unexpected and annoyingly early! (Worried my egg won't be mature enough and it'll be a dud)

We've been holding off DTD since Sunday in the hope to make sure my husbands sperm is top quality concentrated rocket fuel 😂 but what with the OPK (and I have Egg white) CM we did it this morning.

BUT I woke up with a really high temp (36.98) - worried I've missed my window and ovulated already? If I haven't then we'll be a one time shot this month.

Sorry just a little taken by surprise and wanted to share with someone.

@AmesK I'm so sorry your feeling this way. I feel the same all the time. Literally everyone in my life is pregnant or has a newborn apart from me. I'm happy for them but it also feels like a punch in the gut every time there's a new announcement. My best friend is due 2 weeks after I was before my MC in June. It's so hard.xx

AmesK · 06/08/2020 10:20

@Crayon7 I know exactly how you feel! It’s so tough waiting this long! I’ve been diagnosed with endo and PCOS which makes me feel like I’ve got a bit of a battle on my hands but I’m really proud of you that you’ve made the appointment! Often doing that is the hardest part but I’m hoping you’ll get some answers very soon and a BFP before any investigations even need to be done :) Fingers crossed for you my lovely xx

@Dbop100 yes, I am also in the same boat and know how you feel! It is absolutely would destroying when you hear of another pregnancy happening by chance and it just makes me feel so low! Which makes me feel horrible as a person! I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Sending you lots of love and baby dust and I’m hoping to get your sticky bean very very soon Flowers xx

Dbop100 · 06/08/2020 10:32

@AmesK yes it's so awful how it can make you feel like a terrible person. But I guess if we all feel it it must be normal? And everyone here is so nice we can't be terrible really?! I really have to keep telling myself that and hope my feelings start to listen to my head.

Thanks for sharing your endo story, I'm worried I might also have this. Have the most painful heavy periods, even have cramping after I stop bleeding sometimes. I also have had a pain throughout my cycle on my left side since last Sept. Been going to the doctor thinking it's a cyst and having scans showing nothing but only last week convinced my GP to refer me to a gynaecologist, really want a laparoscopy you've inspired me to push for answers and not put up with pain forever!

Crayon7 · 06/08/2020 11:07

@AmesK thank you 🤞🏻🤞🏻
