@Florence13 do you have any pain with it? Either way it's not nice - like @lamby12 said just keep pestering them if you can and push for a scan. Can't believe all they've suggested is to go back on contraception!

Florence13 · 17/07/2020 08:26

@Tink2019 no I’ve not really had any pain just the odd period cramp type pain but not anything unusual. I think I will but like you say that’s all they have suggested which feels like a step in the wrong direction after 8 months TTC.

Aokbaby · 17/07/2020 09:11

@lamby12 great that's 4 of us together now, hopefully we'll have some good news at the end of the month!! 💕

@Florence13 hi and welcome. That's crazy they suggested contraception again, definitely get back in touch with GP and be persistent, good luck 🤗

Florence13 · 17/07/2020 10:16

@Aokbaby will do thank you and also thank you @Tink2019 and @lamby12 for your advice really appreciate it.

lamby12 · 17/07/2020 10:20

@Florence13 no problem. I think sometimes you need to be quite persistent with the doctor and just tell them what you want (I.e. a referral for a scan).
I have been in contact with the doctors because I've had a pain on my left side, ovary area, for over a month now. On and off but very much there. Anyway the doctors a fortnight ago told me to give it a month... I've spoken with them this morning because it doesn't feel right and I don't want to give it a month and just said - 'I'm requesting to be referred for a scan please'. They did it straight away.
I feel it's maybe a cyst but you never know and you have to get checked out if you think you need to.

@Aokbaby @Dbop100 @notyetamumbuttrying you'd think we have some odds in our favour for at least one of us!
X

Florence13 · 17/07/2020 10:34

@lamby12 thank you will try them again. Not really sure what investigations I would need for prolonged period though, not sure a scan would be of any help. Hope you get sorted hun and your scan comes through quickly.

Twinkletoes85 · 17/07/2020 11:24

@Florence13 I am in now way a doctor or an expert but just saying go back on contraception seems like rubbish advice for a potentially concerning matter!

Have you spoken to the same doctor when you have called? If so can you request to speak to a different doctor? Or ask if anyone in the practice has in depth knowledge of fertility etc?

OP posts:
Twinkletoes85 · 17/07/2020 11:26

@Florence13 also without sounding too sexist have you spoken to a male or a female doctor? I tend to find females are a bit more sympathetic to all things down there related given they own the equipment themselves

OP posts:
Florence13 · 17/07/2020 12:15

@Twinkletoes85 I have been speaking to different doctors but all have been female the original advice was to see how my cycle went so I thought I was wasting their time. Then the other doctors have suggested going back into contraception no other advice given.

Twinkletoes85 · 17/07/2020 12:18

@Florence13 oh that's a bugger! I know you can have prolonged bleeding when you first go on the implant etc (or it's running out) which might be why they say to watch your cycle? It doesn't seem like the most helpful advice. Sorry I can't be of any help!

OP posts:
Florence13 · 17/07/2020 12:20

@Twinkletoes85 no thank for responding it’s nice to have somewhere to talk. It’s just getting frustrating as I’ve gone from regular cycles and TTC to now not being able to even try with this huge period!

Twinkletoes85 · 17/07/2020 12:22

@Florence13 totally understand your frustration!! Feels a bit like your body has betrayed you when it does something you weren't expecting and throws a spanner in your plans

OP posts:
Florence13 · 17/07/2020 12:47

@Twinkletoes85 yes definitely how I feel right now. How is your journey to TTC going?

FluffyKittensinabasket · 17/07/2020 13:58

Period came 3 days early, now on month 7 of trying, I really didn’t think it would take this long!

lamby12 · 18/07/2020 08:43

@Florence13 if you feel it's just prolonged period than perhaps no need for a referral, but if you're not sure a scan could help. It might not be 'period' bleeding, it might be a cyst or something (still could easily be harmless but might be nice to know!)

Equally, I had 3-4 weeks of bleeding once and it was just a strange prolonged period, shortly after I came off the pill. Let's hope yours ends fairly soon, fingers crossed!

@FluffyKittensinabasket sorry you have had AF arrive.

X

gypsywater · 18/07/2020 11:26

AF for me today, a day early! FFS! Cycle 8 begins...

Aokbaby · 18/07/2020 11:41

@FluffyKittensinabasket @gypsywater sorry to hear girls ☹️

Twinkletoes85 · 19/07/2020 08:15

@Florence13 sorry it's been a bit mad here. My journeys the same as a lot on here just a bit confusing as my periods are still irregular and frustrating because it hasn't happened yet. I've been off the depo since November and although I knew it could take a while you just don't honestly think it will!

How are you today?

OP posts:
Florence13 · 19/07/2020 09:18

@lamby12 thank you I do think it is probably just a prolonged period and I’m not in lots of pain or anything but think if it’s not gone within the next week I’ll try and get the GP to refer me for more investigations.

@Twinkletoes85 oh bless you sorry to hear your still struggling with irregular periods. I’m still on my period will give it a couple more days and then contact my GP again.

Tink2019 · 19/07/2020 09:58

Ladies taking CoQ10...please can you share how much you take, if you take it every day and a link to the one you take? I'm sure a few of you shared info not long ago (@KK251289 think it may have been you?) but I now can't find the messages 🤦🏼‍♀️ Figured I probably need to start taking it incase egg quality is an issue (I'm 34). Thank you! X

Dbop100 · 19/07/2020 10:04

Hey @Tink2019 I take the ones on the link below, recommend by someone on here. I only take 1 a day as that's what it says on the bottle. I take it after breakfast along with my other supplements.

Only been taking it this cycle, on CD17 now so no idea if it's made any difference yet.

CoQ10 300mg x 90 tablets - 3 Months supply. With Vitamin C and black pepper extract. SKU: CQ3 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GUEHM7O/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_mWafFbHW72J8A

Tink2019 · 19/07/2020 10:35

Amazing, thank you @Dbop100, will order that now. Hope it does it's stuff for you this cycle 🤞🏻 xx

Twinkletoes85 · 19/07/2020 10:46

@florence13, you must be so fed up of bleeding now! I'm sorry you're still on.

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 19/07/2020 11:10

@Tink2019 hey I take same one as @Dbop100 but recently upped to two a day from the posts on the fb group about the amount of mg. apparently 900 is recommended by docs but I'm going to increase steadily so starting with 2 tabs first, then will see how I feel before going up to 3 a day. I'm also 34 so every little helps eh!

Tink2019 · 19/07/2020 12:34

It does indeed @notyetamumbuttrying! Thank you x
