@Tink2019 snap! 34 too, my bday was March so luckily the right side of 34 still 😂
Yes it's the best! Felt like getting bk to normal going to a pub. Apart from not being able to approach the bar, that was weird lol! Glad you had a nice day too 😊

Dbop100 · 12/07/2020 22:16

Hello! Curious to know if anyone else ever had EWCM on CD10 and still ovulated around CD14? I've read somewhere that you only get 1-2 days of it. I could be ovulating early (which makes me worry that my egg won't be mature enough 🤯). had a flashy smiley face since yesterday.... It's my first month drinking loads of grapefruit juice so maybe I'm just getting more than normal 🤷‍♀️

lamby12 · 13/07/2020 08:39

@Dbop100 yes I have had it for the best part of a week. This month I had the flashing smiley from Monday -Thursday, and the static smiley Thursday PM. I tested (just out of interest) with the pink sticks and had the smiley Friday PM and Sat PM too. I had EWCM Monday - Saturday.
So difficult to know within that exactly when the day is isn't it!

X

Annny27 · 13/07/2020 11:33

@Dbop100 yes I can have it up to a week before ovulation! When I see ewcm thats when I start my opks

Dbop100 · 13/07/2020 11:51

Thanks @lamby12 & @Annny27 I don't normally notice it and just go off the Clear Blue Digi so I think that's why I got confused - guess the grapefruit juice might be working?! didn't really expect that, was doing it just to have something to make me feel proactive. I'm due to ovulate this Fri/Sat but I have a routine scan on Thursday (to check an ovarian cyst has gone - been waiting 6 months) so I might try and get them to tell me if it's actually happening whilst there in there!

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 11:59

@Dbop100 that would be so amazing if they do! I just called the hospital as I'm waiting for a routine scan on my cervix and they're still not doing them! I've been waiting since March so pre Covid. Very annoying!
I just got my smiley today! Best muster some energy for later as I'm really not feeling it today.

Dbop100 · 13/07/2020 12:27

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm sure I'll have to really sweet talk the scanner person but I might as well give it a go eh? sorry about your scan, mine was supposed to be in March too but also pushed due to Covid 😒
Good luck this month! yeah it's sometime hard getting into the swing of things at the start, but I guess we just gotta fake it til we make it!

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 12:31

@Dbop100 indeed we do! I was referred in March so never got my appointment date so god knows how long I'll have to wait. It's to check for a cyst as I get pains after sex but the more I research, I'm thinking I could have a titled uterus as certain positions hurt. I'll have to keep wondering for now! Defo just casually drop it in as they're there anyway right! Best of luck 🍀

Hoping41 · 13/07/2020 13:00

Can I just join your meoans at services still being closed! We're waiting on my OH to have his second sperm analysis and they have now said they'll be closed for another 5 weeks. We can't be referred to the fertility clinic until that's done and it feels very unfair today (most days I understand but not today - there's not even that many cases of covid in my area at the moment!). It's a total postcode lottery of what services you're allowed when in your ttc journey as well as what's open at the moment for people to access.
Ok, rant over. @notyetamumbuttrying I hope you get your appointment soon. Acupuncture might help with a tiled uterus too?

Tink2019 · 13/07/2020 18:47

Hey ladies, so I had my day 3 transvaginal (bloody awful word!!! No pun intended with the 'bloody' 🙈) scan today - we went private because of how delayed we were told the NHS would be due to Covid, sorry to hear lots of you are still waiting. Once bloods are back consultant will call me to discuss scan and blood results, but wondered in the meantime if any of you have had the scan done and if you know what a 'normal' follicle count is? My antra follicle count was 16 on the right ovary and 11 on the left 🤷🏼‍♀️

Aokbaby · 13/07/2020 19:19

@Dbop100 yea I get it for a few days before ovulation, bwas surprised myself how much the grapefruit juice worked. I've been using epo this cycle and it's worked really well too!

@lamby12 can I just ask when you get your static smiley how long before actual ovulation? Is it 2 days? Just got my static this morning and very excited/relieved!! How often does one DTD when static? Thanks!!

lamby12 · 13/07/2020 19:27

@Aokbaby
Hmmm the million dollar question!! Some months I've got the static smiley on one day, and then tested the next and it's nothing, so just one day of static (before this month I've always used the pink sticks only, so no flashing smiley).

However, the flashing is eostrogen and the static is LH, so testing for LH shouldn't make a difference if it's the pink sticks or the advance sticks. I think????

This month I got static smileys for 3 days so I'm not sure if I ovulated at the end of that or if the LH was just detected afterwards.

I always get really obviously ovulation pain on one side and I felt that on Saturday pm/Sunday am, after first static on Thursday PM. However from some googling of Ov pain it can happen before, during or after.. so I'm none the wiser!

We did it once.,. Not ideal but OH 'wasn't in the mood' Angry
X

Megs2906 · 13/07/2020 19:36

I got the static smiley cd12 but only managed to dtd once. Time of month is 2 days late and no sign. I'm a poas addict so I used a opk on 11dpo and it was negative then day before AF was due and day AF was due got flashing smiley face but bfn on hpt 😢 got static smiley on opk today cd 30/ 17dpo. Anyone else get something similar?

Aokbaby · 13/07/2020 19:38

@lamby12 lol exactly! We've DTD today, I know they say it's best to DTD every other day for best sperm but think I might do tomorrow also? I'm using the clearblue advanced. Fingers crossed something works 🤞

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 19:50

@Hoping41 rant away my dear, that's what this space is for 😌 so the titled uterus thing is my self diagnosis, god knows if I do have one or not lol! But will keep that in mind should I finally get this scan and it shows something. Hope your husband gets to do his SA soon, it's getting a piss take now isn't it.
@Tink2019 I can't help, but wanted to say good luck with the results!
@Aokbaby typically you ovulate 12-24 hours after the static smiley so do it today and the next day to cover all bases. Sex every day is fine, it's only advised every other to men with low sperm count.

Aokbaby · 13/07/2020 19:52

@notyetamumbuttrying oh really I didn't know that, hurray-off to seduce the hubbie tomorrow🤣🤣

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 20:27

@Aokbaby have fun! I got my smiley today too so we'll be in the tww together. We've just stuffed our faces with dinner n now eating choc so it'll be an early night for us and we'll do it again some time tomorrow, I hope!

KK251289 · 13/07/2020 20:54

Hey Ladies, is it ok to ask those that are going private for tests what prices theyve paid? Also do you have to go to your GP first anyway? I'm on CD21, last month AF arrived on CD25. I logged last month that I had cramps from CD20 onwards so i know I'm already out this month. Feel like if I do a bit of research on it over the next week it might keep me sane.

CeeCee1918 · 13/07/2020 21:12

Hi Ladies,
Hope you don’t mind me joining the conversation - I know it’s already been going for a while but not sure where else to post! Been ttc our second for 10 months now but it’s just not happening!! Had a chemical pregnancy back in feb and have been using OPK’s since March and getting positives from them each month but nothing so far. I’m 38 and our dd is 2.6 yrs so starting to wonder how much longer I want to try. Never thought I’d potentially be having a baby nearing 40 - not saying it’s a bad thing but just not sure it’s something I want. Feeling a bit frustrated and mixed feelings right now. Just wondering how long any of you left it before speaking to GP and what they did or what the first stages are once you do. Such a weird time right now that I’m not even sure the doctors would see this as urgent enough for an app. Anyway, any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you! X

Aokbaby · 13/07/2020 21:13

@notyetamumbuttrying oh great, it'll be good to go through it together x

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/07/2020 21:42

@Aokbaby yeah defo!
@CeeCee1918 you should be able to call docs now as you're over 35 and it's been more than 6 months. Not sure if that's still the criteria when you've already got one tho. Be worth calling to check anyway.
@KK251289 I'd be interested in this too.

Tink2019 · 13/07/2020 22:31

@notyetamumbuttrying & @KK251289 we self-referred to the clinic - we had a telephone consultation with our GP but had decided that if she said she'd refer but there'd be a delay, we'd go private. In terms of costs we had to have an initial consultation which was £275 (for 15 mins! 😱), semen analysis £150, AMH £60 and day 3 scan £150. The bloods are roughly £30-£40 per test but the clinic advised me to ask my GP about doing them so actually had them done at a local hospital, which is good as think we worked out it would've been about £300. Need another consultation to discuss the bloods and scan, which I think will be £150. Once I start taking Clomid (decided to wait a few months and try Soy Insoflavones first) I think the prescription itself isn't very much but you have to be scanned to check you're not producing too many eggs. All in all, it's pretty expensive!! We only went for it because of the huge delay and because we had a holiday cancelled...every cloud I guess!

@CeeCee1918 I'd definitely call your GP. Things seem to be getting back to some normality and if nothing else you can at least get the ball rolling.

KK251289 · 13/07/2020 23:38

@CeeCee1918 sending you hugs, it's so frustrating getting this far in, I never ever expected TTC to be anything like this.

Thank you so much @Tink2019 for the info, I had no idea of all the different costs. I think as August will be cycle 12, I'll call my GP in September see what the wait is like realistically, I've got some savings so I'm really considering the private option.

I know it's not been a year yet but I feel like realistically I need to start thinking about all this stuff now. I was saying to my OH that I couldn't imagine someone saying to me last September you wont even be pregnant this time next year, I thought I'd have a baby by now or at the very least be half way through a pregnancy, how naive was I Confused

Twinkletoes85 · 14/07/2020 07:21

Morning ladies. So OHs best friend has split up with his gf, he's been staying with another friend for a bit but for a change he's moved in with us this week (they share a house so having the who gets it arguments).

Anyway he was asking me yesterday when we're going to start trying to I told him we already are (I was surprised he didn't already know as he's been excited for us to have kids for ages). He tried with his ex for a bit and when I mentioned it's more complicated than you expect he knew exactly what I meant about timing, frequency etc He's a very fact orientated person like OH but he has a very different approach to things. I'm hoping him being here for a few days and that he really doesn't care about getting up in our business he might have a chat with OH and give him a bit of a one removed perspective.

Tink2019 · 14/07/2020 08:06

@KK251289 No problem - I had no idea of cost either until we took the plunge. Know exactly how you feel in terms of being naive. I think I always knew we may take a little longer because of my irregular cycles and a feeling my hormones aren't quite balanced, but seeing so many friends just fall pregnant instantly gave me false hope! There are so many of us nearing a year in this thread, so I'm clinging on to the fact most couples fall pregnant the first year so we must (we will!) get some BFPs very soon 🤞🏻

@Dbop100 please can I ask what day of your cycle you started drinking grapefruit juice and how much?

@Twinkletoes85 sounds like he may be a good influence!
