@Hoping41 no, they really don't do they! I was still pretty chill after 3 months too. I'll get Dh to watch that great sperm race as I don't think me talking always means it goes in. If I leave him to go watch something in his own time, it might sink in. Thank you! 😊

introv3rt · 11/07/2020 14:43

I can relate to the issue of DTD too!
Last month he only wanted to do it once and that was 2 days before I think I ovulated.

introv3rt · 11/07/2020 14:46

Here's me constantly obsessing over all the little tricks I can do to increase the chances, vitamins, special lube, pineapple, grapefruit etc and I literally only need him to do one thing to contribute 😂😂

Hoping41 · 11/07/2020 14:48

@notyetamumbuttrying yes, I found it totally fascinating whereas he only watched it because I sent him the link and asked him to. I must admit I then quizzed him like I would my class: what part surprised you most? Was there anything you thought you knew that you were actually mistaken about? Did you learn anything that will change how you approach ttc 🤣🤣🤣 maybe I do pressurise him!!!

gypsywater · 11/07/2020 15:13

Omg I relate so much about what you're saying about your partners! I have gone to sleep internally seething so many times! Pisses me off so much - you have one job....ONE! And you get sex FFS! Like what the fuck.

Hoping41 · 11/07/2020 15:20

@introvert fully agree with you, there's only one thing they need to do well! I think it's a gender role thing. My OH is a real softie, he'd do anything for me and really enjoys providing things for me. I think it's been a real knock to his confidence that he can't provide this. Men are more sensitive than we think - and I definitely tend to go on a bit!! I'm trying to keep as much quiet now as I can.

lamby12 · 11/07/2020 15:25

@Hoping41 @gypsywater @introv3rt
Yep seems we all have the same problems with OH. I suppose when it goes on this long it starts to become a pressure for everyone!

I'm don't think we've done enough this month, twice in high fertility and once in peak (doesn't feel enough because it's less than most months, which hasn't worked out) and it's nearly 48hrs since my flashing smiley so pretty sure this month's window has closed. I need to remember I was supposed to be relaxed and we were having a month off... how one days worth of obsessing can change all that Blush

So looks like that's me entering the TWW... I'm going to try my hardest to not think about it at all and NO testing because it's a 'month off'.... wish me luck Hmm
X

lamby12 · 11/07/2020 15:30

*since the static smiley I mean
(& I am guilty of testing the day after the surge with the pink sticks to see if it's still positive)

Hoping41 · 11/07/2020 15:31

Ha ha, good luck @lamby12. I can do the first week of the 2ww fine, then I go crazy for a few days and then I go back to normal as I recognise signs of af. We did it every second day during fertile week as I read it gives the man enough time to make the best sperm. It definitely felt like it wasn't enough but, it was definitely more relaxed. Good luck with your no symptom spotting 🤞

Annny27 · 11/07/2020 16:40

@gypsywater @introv3rt he will be like "ah I am not super in the mood"......well do you think i am?? No but let's do it haha

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/07/2020 17:19

@Hoping41 loving the critical evaluation afterwards 😂 defo gonna try that with mine once he's watched it! Pity he's out getting pissed today...I said to go easy as he'll smoke when he drinks too but I'm under no illusion that he'll come home drunk as a skunk tonight 🥴

Hoping41 · 11/07/2020 18:02

@notyetamumbuttrying it's really difficult when they drink isn't it? I think I'd rather one big session than one or two per night though. Yes, I through in my own answers to try to disguise the interrogation as a conversation but not sure it worked! 🤣🤣 I'm now sending him articles on icing your 🍒 as he's a chef and we think the heat is killing them 🏊‍♂️ but he's having none of it!!

Twinkletoes85 · 11/07/2020 18:49

Sorry everyone been painting and weeding all day (so much fun ha)

@notyetamumbuttrying that did make me laugh you explaining Flo to him!

@tink2019 is the soyisoflaves supposed to shorten the cycle? I hope you start feeling more like yourself

@lamby12 haha I get that, what again today? Yes because I've not ov'd yet so there's an extra day, it's not just because I like forcing you to dtd it's not actually that much fun for me either. Yeah I've tried explaining it all to him but it's just in one ear out the other. It must be hard second time round as it's a whole new ballgame to the first time, with new pressures and complications. It's never an easy journey no matter what # you're going for.

Unless your that family with 20 something kids he just sneezes near her and she catches on 😂

@Hoping41 I was thinking today it would be nice if men could have just one full cycle just to see what it's like.

Drinking is an big thing with my OH he doesn't drink a lot but he drinks a lot of days. But he's on his last week of furlough then he'll be back to work so he'll be drinking less again. He's one of those where if I say stop drinking he'll drink more so I'm trying to keep schtum

Reading all these messages today has made me feel so much better. I get terrible leg cramps a week before AF and I'm having them already. My OH said was like what's caused that AF symptoms, not drinking enough water, laying on it funny etc....and I feel like saying next time you have a migraine I'll ask it lack of water, stress, tiredness....Last week when my OH said he was too tired to DTD I lost my mind! I've started temping, OPKs, researching pills, cut right down on caffeine, I've stopped my workout sessions this month as I thought intense exercise might not be helping and all they have to do is DTD. To be fair hes got a lot of work stress, his hours have been cut because of covid so hes worried about losing his job. I'm on CD19 and I'm just doing my best to keep busy.

Tink2019 · 11/07/2020 21:16

@Twinkletoes85 it's meant to bring O forward - apparently people call it the 'natural Clomid'. I was planning on starting today (you only take for a few days at beginning of cycle like Clomid) but my husband has freaked out and is worried it'll make me the devil again like last week 😂 Have a scan Monday and then due to start Clomid next month so going to see what the fertility consultant thinks - would rather try something natural first if possible I guess x

Twinkletoes85 · 11/07/2020 22:28

@Tink2019 I've not heard of it before, I can see your reasoning that trying a natural supplement is preferable before going for Clomid. Sounds good to talk about it with the consultant as an option. Let us know how your scan goes x

@KK251289 it sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat which is reassuring and frustrating all at the same time!!

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/07/2020 22:41

@Hoping41 he came in around 9 and didn't seem too bad surprisingly! He's defo a binge drinker in that sense as he'll drink round his mates all day and then not drink all week.
I spoke to mine about keeping his laptop off them as he keeps working on the bed as we share a dining room table and when he has calls he goes to the room. I'm always walking in being like "get that laptop off your balls, the heat, the heat!!!" 😂

@Twinkletoes85 haha glad I gave you a laugh 😆 ooh that's a productive day! Well done you. I've been pretty lazy today 😬

@KK251289 are you in tww now then? Men can be very annoying can't they!

@Tink2019 best of luck on the new supplement! I've heard of that one, there's a thread on MN about it if you have a search.

KK251289 · 11/07/2020 23:40

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah I'm in TWW fed up and disheartened already! How are you doing xx

Tink2019 · 11/07/2020 23:40

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying, found it so going to have a read. Not starting until I've checked it with the fertility consultant (husband through a wobbly so that was the compromise!). Have read good things about it though.

@Twinkletoes85 will do. I was freaking out that I'd still be on AF but the nurse reassured me they're used to it 🙈 It's looking like I'm going to have a much shorter than normal AF this cycle anyway for some reason, so needn't have worried!

Hoping41 · 12/07/2020 06:22

@notyetamumbuttrying yes, laptops are another worry. The period power book talks about sperm count briefly. They've gone down in men up to 50% in recent years because of all the plastic and hormones in the food and water. Everyone on the pill is basically peeing estrogen out which goes into our drinking water. Very scary!!
Glad he wasn't too drunk when he came in, you'll feel more relaxed now!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/07/2020 09:31

@KK251289 aw hun! Tough ol game ttc isn't it. I'm in FW so still feeling pretty optimistic at mo.
@Tink2019 it's great you're already part of a fertility clinic! Hope all goes well for you.
@Hoping41 ah great, I've just started that book so will await that section! Yeah I've heard about the oestrogen in the water, scary stuff indeed!!
Oh ladies, I feel really groggy and like I have a cold coming on. I don't need this in FW. Dh won't come near me if I'm coughing 😂

Tink2019 · 12/07/2020 16:44

@notyetamumbuttrying oh no, hopefully it passes. Colds during summer are so crappy! We just took the plunge with private because Dr was happy to refer but said Covid would delay things quite a bit. Guessing she was happy to refer us at just 8/9 months because of my irregular cycles and symptoms 🤷🏼‍♀️ Or just lucky as know others have a terrible time being referred!!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/07/2020 16:56

@Tink2019 are you over 35 as well? That coulda played a part. I actually felt better once I'd gotten out of bed lol! Not sure what was going on. Think my room was too hot and it was causing me a blocked nose.
Have had a nice day today. Went for a pub lunch with a glass of red. Been ideal! How's your day been?

Tink2019 · 12/07/2020 20:52

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm 34 so almost there! Your day sounds lovely - a glass of wine here and there is definitely needed. We went to some friends and had Prosecco, good to switch off from everything isn't it 🙌🏻
