Thanks everyone xx

@notyetamumbuttrying Yes defo going to the docs as soon as 1 year, the waiting lists are so long in London and due to Covid I might ask sooner (and just fib about a couple of months) as it'll probably take that long to be on the waiting list. I was referred for a scan to check a cyst on my ovary in Jan and still waiting. I also had a friend who was doing this and she said from when she went to the docs it look like a year for her to be referred and have all the basic tests done x

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/07/2020 12:32

@KK251289 I read that too about early ov bk in May and that lead me to MN as I ov cd10 every month. Took agnus castus to delay it cd12 but then it shortened my LP by two days so I'm not taking it again. Plenty of women have said on here that they conceived with early ov days so I'm no longer gonna mess around with my cycles, and let nature take its course. Dr google is a complete pain because it literally sent me in a spin reading that but clearly it's incorrect.

Good luck @lamby12 you can do it! Noting stuff down in your app helps if you have one. I use Flo and I can just refer bk to the notes and symptoms I selected before and know that it's just progesterone rising and nothing more. Well in my cases so far!

Eek @Dbop100 can't believe how long it takes! I'm London too and tried to get in with my docs at 9 months but they said no- I shoulda lied! I'm also waiting for a scan to check my ovaries for suspected cyst. Bloody Covid delaying everything grrr.

KK251289 · 02/07/2020 12:51

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm so guilty of using Dr google. I'll try and stick with just OPKs this month, plenty of fruit and veg, plus DHA, COQ10 and folic acid, and hope for the best.

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/07/2020 13:03

Good girl @KK251289! Smile👍🏾

lamby12 · 02/07/2020 13:45

@notyetamumbuttrying @KK251289 where are you in your cycles? Sounds like we might be in sync this month and trying to steer clear of google, hopefully we can support each other to steer clear of dr google. X

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/07/2020 13:51

@lamby12 11dpo and due on tomorrow and can feel it coming! You?

Posy1 · 02/07/2020 14:20

Hi Ladies, hope everyone is doing ok? I havent posted in a while as not really sure what to do at the moment and feeling very depressed. Got my FSH results back and they were really, really bad. Way above the cut off for IVF treatment on the NHS. The NHS won't do IVF unless FSH is under 12 and mine is 19. I suspected they wouldn't be great, but wasn't prepared for them to be that bad. Even if we could afford private IVF I'm guessing the chances of success are really low if they would even do it. I should probably just give up TTC for my own sanity, but I'm still (probably foolishly) clinging to a tiny bit of hope. 😭

Hoping41 · 02/07/2020 14:52

@posy1 I'm so sorry to hear about your results. I guess it will take a while to all sink in, did they have any advice for you or is fsh levels something that can't be changed? How are you and your OH coping?

Posy1 · 02/07/2020 15:33

@Hoping41 - thanks for checking on us, we are doing ok, but a bit shocked and confused at the moment. Unfortunately, the GP just told me she wasnt a specialist so couldn't advise. I have emailed a few fertility clinics, so waiting to hear back from them. Hopefully they will be able to offer more advice. I know there are traditional Chinese medicine clinics which claim they can reduce FSH levels, but I don't know if it helps because the cause is likely poor egg quality/quantity. I guess it could lengthen my follicular phase though which would allow the egg to mature at least. Its all so complicated!
How are you feeling? Where is your cycle are you at the moment?

gypsywater · 02/07/2020 15:35

@Posy1 Really sorry to hear that, what a shock :( Will definitely be good to speak to some private clinics and see what they can advise. Best of luck to you.

Twinkletoes85 · 02/07/2020 16:11

Hi everyone, I shared this with the Facebook group earlier but I thought I'd share it here too in case it helps.

So this week I’ve had a bit of a mental health week, on top of my own chat I was already signed up to a work webinar about managing stress and resilience.

I thought a couple of tips I found useful might be good to share:

  1. There’s no such thing as abnormal thoughts, we all have thoughts about things we would never actually do.
  2. We can’t control what we think but we can control how we act on those thoughts and how much control we let them have over our feelings.
  3. We don’t have to solve our problems or other peoples problems. It’s a massive help to just talk about/listen to something.
  4. Mindfulness (which the therapist on the call admitted at first he thought was a bit happy clappy) is actually so important. Make sure to take time to just read a book or listen to music. Switch off your brain!

And one thing that really resonated with me was that humans think we’re amazing are predicting the future, really we are absolutely terrible at it. And we spend so much time worrying or planning for what we think will happen regarding a choice we haven’t yet made.

Ask yourself how many things you’ve predicted the result to and how many times it actually happened in that exact outcome.

I hope some of those help you guys a bit too ❤️❤️

Oh @Posy1 I'm so sorry to hear that. I really hope you get some helpful answers from the specialists. Make sure you both look after yourselves xxx

Tink2019 · 02/07/2020 16:19

@Posy1 so sorry to hear you've been given that news - I hope you're able to take some time to yourselves over the next few days. Hopefully you'll hear back from one of the fertility clinics soon too. Sending lots of support your way x

Seafrontsky · 02/07/2020 16:36

Oh @Posy1 that must be such difficult news to hear, I'm sorry. i hope you and OH are ok and are able to take time to digest it all. I really hope the fertility clinics are able to give you some support. Thinking of you 💚

jlmul9 · 02/07/2020 16:53

@Posy1 I'm so sorry about your news. I hope the clinics get back to you soon with options. Plenty of ears here to listen if you need them. x

KK251289 · 02/07/2020 17:13

@lamby12 I'm on CD10 at the moment, whereabouts are you in your cycle. Yes hopefully we're just getting so close to BPFs now.

Thanks @Twinkletoes85 that was a really good read, I think I'll keep reading that back when I get really anxious etc and take it onboard!! Hope you're feeling ok x

@Posy1 I'm so sorry about the news you've had, I hope you and OH are ok. It's good you've started contacting fertility clinics etc is there anyone your GP could refer you too in the meantime?

Hoping41 · 02/07/2020 17:36

@posy1 it's always so much worse when the person giving the news doesn't really understand it any more than you do. This is definitely a time when you need a specialist. I can't really help you although I have watched a ton of ingefleur. Have you seen her? She seems to know everything and I know you can have online appointments with her if you're interested in the natural way - it is probably really expensive though. Whatever you decide too.i do, I hope you find someone who can give you ask the information you need. 💜

Fraucherie · 02/07/2020 17:45

@Posy1 I am really sorry to hear those results. I can imagine how gutted you are. Infertility is just so unfair isn't it? I think I have woken up this morning, with the real feeling like this actually may not happen for me either, and I have to start to accept that. I am dealing with secondary infertility, so I am very blessed already and am so grateful for what I have.

@Twinkletoes85 thanks you for all that information. I need that refresher every so often. I get tunnel vision and ideas in my head that get blown out of proportion and I need something to bring me down to earth.

It has been nice to have a small community of people all in this together. I definitely gave you guys a thought when I got AF on Monday, I knew I wasn't alone.

notyetamumbuttrying · 02/07/2020 18:04

@Posy1 sorry to hear all this, I hope you're ok! How early do you ov? I'm cd10 usually so my follicular phase is short. I'm in fw as soon as my period ends. I do have a normal luteal phase though, just short cycles. I hope the other clinics get back to you soon!

Thanks for popping the affirmations on here too @Twinkletoes85!

Aww that's cute @Fraucherie it's a lovely thread this! Top gals 😏 as @MrsCOR would say!

Tink2019 · 02/07/2020 18:16

This really is a lovely thread - thank you @Twinkletoes85 for starting it x

Posy1 · 02/07/2020 19:01

Thanks everyone for your support - It means alot. I'm just so shocked. I was prepared for a level around 10 or 12, but 19 is so high. The clinics have got back to me, but they have just said an initial consultation costs around £200. I'm reluctant to pay that money just to be told that my chances are very low or that they wouldn't recommend IVF with my own eggs with a FSH of that level.

@Hoping41 I have watched Inger Fleur - she is so interesting. Just feeling a bit hopeless, from what I have read it doesn't look like there is much that can be done. I am trying DHEA though so will keep taking that for a few months.

@notyetamumbuttrying I usually ovulate on day 11/12, but it was day 10 last month. I seem to have a 13/14 day luteal phase, but my periods are very light. My cycles used to be longer and heavier when I was younger, so I'm sure it's the change that indicates the problem.

Twinkletoes85 · 02/07/2020 20:13

@Posy1 I'm really sorry you're experiencing this.
Maybe give yourself some time and then you can decide if you would feel better following up with a clinic for some sort of closure.

They may be able to give you advice on other areas such as donor eggs if that would be something you would be comfortable with.

We're always here as shoulders and sounding boards for you however you're feeling xx

Aokbaby · 02/07/2020 20:24

@Posy1 so sorry to read this, sending lots of love X

@Twinkletoes85 thanks for the reminders, you need to just take a step back sometimes and maybe realise that some things are just out of our control, as hard as that is

Hopefully we'll get some positives on this thread soon, we're well overdue ladies 💕

Douya · 02/07/2020 20:27

@Posy1 That result sucks. It does seem a lot a money when they're likely to just recommend donor eggs. If you're interested in donor eggs then that could be useful to hear though.
@Tink2019 I know the feeling... 1 month does not equal 1 cycle for me either!

I spoke to a GP over the telephone today about my long cycles. She really didn't think it was PCOS, but said I could get some blood tests. Not sure which ones though, so I'll see what the practice say back to my message Confused. The GP also said that it can take up to 18 months to have cycles return to normal after being on the pill for 8 months! 18 months! The good news is that I got flashing smiley faces on the opks on cd30 and cd31 (today), and EWCM which I haven't seen in ages. Looks like another long cycle is ahead of me (no surprise), but I have my fingers crossed for detecting an ovulation this month at least.

Tink2019 · 02/07/2020 20:53

@Douya I'm so glad it's looking like you'll finally O, it's so so rubbish and disheartening just waiting for it. I'm having bloods next week if AF comes on time, guess they're what your GP is recommending - there's about 7 different things, hoping it's just the one blood test for all of them because I bruise and bleed a lot! Wow, I knew it took a while for the pill to get out your system but not that long! I came off 7.5 years ago now, best thing I ever did! x

@Posy1 We had a £275 consultation that lasted 15 minutes. In all honesty it wasn't that enlightening. Maybe have some space from it then decide? x
