Ahh @KK251289 I feel for you, it really can be horrible ttc. I think that plan for next cycle sounds ideal. Should help you relax more then. Can you make a drs appointment yet?

DSC1 · 18/06/2020 08:19

@KK251289 I think taking a break from all the testing sounds like a good idea for you. It gets to most of us at some point so please know you’re not alone in how you are feeling. Hope you are ok and sending lots of hugs x

Fifol · 18/06/2020 08:26

Morning all. Welcome to any new joiners.

@Bella330 it's amazing to see a bfp I think we all needed that for some hope! Congrats and best wishes

@KK251289 you poor thing. As someone said there we all feel like that at some point and I always say when af comes I'm not doing any opks or anything but then I change my mind! I genuinely think I would be more anxious if I didnt have what I feel is that little element of control. But if you feel a break would do you good then definitely you should. Although you're not out this month yet so you never know!

I'm always trying to be so positive but sometimes I think would I be better off not doing that so I'm not setting myself up for disappointment!

PinkFlamingoGirl · 18/06/2020 09:03

Morning guys! Sorry I've been absent recently, I've just been super busy at work. AF only fully started to come on yesterday after 5 days of spotting. I don't think that's normal but wth I'm not worrying about it. It's a matter of time, our babies are coming and that's for sure ❤️

Going to check out the BFN podcast. Thanks for the recommendation! Hope everyone is well xxx

Th197 · 18/06/2020 09:14

Hi ladies, I hope it's ok to post here. Just need some advice..

We have recently starting TTC, and I got the CB opks. I took one on Saturday and I got a static smiley so we DTD we also done it two days before then also! And the day after.. so I thought I was in my TWW.

But yesterday I had some egg like white mucus (sorry if tmi) so I decided to do another opk and it's came up a flashing smiley! I'm so confused, I took another test to make sure it wasn't a faulty test and it was still a flashkng smiley! And also this morning was a flashing smiley. Just a bit disheartening as I thought I was in my TWW.

If anyone could shed some light as to why it would give me a flashing smiley 3-4 days after a static one, or if someone has been in a similar situation.

KK251289 · 18/06/2020 10:13

@Aokbaby thank you, I'm ok just exhausted. Where are you in your cycle now.

@notyetamumbuttrying thank you. I started trying in September so a few months to go yet. I think that's part of the anxiety is that it feels so far that I cant do anything but it's very close and I never imagined being in this position.

@DSC1 thank you, definitely need a break from it. Hope you're doing ok.

@Fifol thank you, I'll probably be the same as soon as AF arrives but I dont want to be.

I really appreciate everyone being so kind. Theres so many on here that have been through so much and I feel terrible for moaning. You are all such a strong bunch.

I slept a wonderful 3 hours last night. I'm on a 3hour managers meeting on zoom so really struggling to keep my eyes open.

KK251289 · 18/06/2020 10:15

@Th197 welcome. I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere once you get the static smiley not to test again as you may get the flashing smiley as an error? I did the same thing so I'd spent so much time on google afterwards!

Twinkletoes85 · 18/06/2020 10:21

@Th197 I'm in no way an expert but it could be picking up hormones still in your body from ovulation.

I don't know exactly how it works but I imagine there will still be some of the same hormones hanging around after ovulation as there is in the lead up which is why you might be getting a reading. It's all a bit confusing isn't it and your body never seems to do the same thing two months running!

Has anyone felt a bit nauseous after taking vitamins? I don't know if it's because I've taken them on an empty stomach or haven't eaten enough but a couple of times now I've felt quite sick not long after taking them.

Aokbaby · 18/06/2020 10:26

@KK251289 I'm just in my fertile window at the minute, trying my best and hopefully something sticks this month x

Th197 · 18/06/2020 10:29

@KK251289 I know wish I didn't test now! Because I've been googling constantly now 😭 hoping I'm still in my TWW.

@twinkletoes85 it never simple is it! Something will always throw you off! I'm hoping it's just hormones left in my body!

My AF isn't due until 27th/28th so I suppose I'll go from there!

Fifol · 18/06/2020 10:33

@Th197 I've actually never tested again after a static so I'm not sure. It could be as @Twinkletoes85 said though. Or maybe you didn't ovulate the first time and might now? If you're still having ewcm I'd still dtd anyway just in case!

@Twinkletoes85 I don't really. But I always take mine with lunch. I know lots of people do though! Are you taking new ones maybe you need some time to adjust?

DSC1 · 18/06/2020 10:37

@Th197 I think you probably got the flashing smiley again due to your hormones post ovulation as you are now in a different phase of the cycle. Not sure about the EWCM but is there any chance it could be semen if you had recently DTD?

@Twinkletoes85 my DH got a bad stomach from taking some vitamins so I definitely think that’s possible.

@Fifol I feel exactly the same as you re testing each month. The thought of not knowing exactly when I’m
ovulting would stress me more.

Twinkletoes85 · 18/06/2020 10:37

@Fifol yes this is my first month taking any vitamins (didn't even take a multivitamin before now!) the seven seas do say best taken with food so I wondered if it was them with the iron and vitamin d.

I'll be stopping the epo today/tomorrow so I'll see after that if it's those (but they've made a difference so il take them even if it is)

Sorry late to the party but congratulations @Bella330. Such fantastic news after a rocky road for you. Makes me feel so hopeful we just need patience. I think we all needed that positive boost so thank you!

Oh @KK251289 that sucks I'm so sorry you're feeling down. Sack it all off for a while, recoup, and be kind to yourself. It's such a draining process I hope you're ok. Sleep too is the sanity giver! 🧡

Th197 · 18/06/2020 10:43

@fifol @DSC1 yes, may be best just to continue to DTD every other day up until AF comes maybe. Also we hadn't DTD that day.. some not sure why it was EWCM, kinda thrown off a bit!

Thank you ladies so much for replying, it so good having someone to talk to about it!

Fifol · 18/06/2020 10:57

@Th197 yeah there's nothing like support from others going through similar things!

@Twinkletoes85 definitely take with food and see if that makes a difference! Hopefully it's just getting used to them.

DSC1 · 18/06/2020 12:53

AF has arrived after 5 days of spotting, not upset, glad to be able to move on! Strange how a few of us have had the same situation this month.

Annny27 · 18/06/2020 13:05

Its so weird how so many of us had loads of spotting this month! I spotted from 11dpo - 14dpo and it was more spotting than normal! I got all excited but was thankful for AF to arrive yesterday @DSC1

Posy1 · 18/06/2020 13:09

@KK251289 so sorry you are feeling down. This TTC really is rubbish. It wouldn't be natural for it not to get us down. It just a symptom of how much you want this.

@Twinkletoes85 yes, I have to take them after food or I feel sick and not too close to bedtime.

@Th197 I'm not sure how the digital OPKs work as I don't use them. I think flashing means oestrogen is at a certain level and then static is LH is at a certain level. But, it prob makes sense that there is a certain level of oestrogen after ov as its on its downward slope if you know what I mean.

I used a ovulation strip instead of a pregnancy strip one month and got a faint line. Won't make that mistake again.....was heartbroken.

@DSC1 so sorry AF has arrived. Sorry I didn't get a chance to reply last night. So far the GP has sent me for bloods and my OH for semen analysis. I'm hoping if they do refer us we might get offered Clomid. Although not sure how successful that is when age is a factor. You could go to your GP now as you are over 35?

Posy1 · 18/06/2020 13:13

@KK251289 sorry I meant to say as well - have you ever tried Kalms when you are stressed and can't sleep. I get insomnia with PMT cos I get so stressed and anxious and I find they really help.

KK251289 · 18/06/2020 13:15

@Seafrontsky thank you. Definitely need a break from it all. It's so draining, I have another 8 days until AF but getting cramps etc so feel out already. I think I'll test early this month so my mind can just get on with it. I'll probably do it Tuesday / Wednesday. Hope you're doing ok x

KK251289 · 18/06/2020 13:16

@Posy1 no I've never tried it, it's worth a go I think. Can you get it from supermarkets or just a pharmacy?

DSC1 · 18/06/2020 13:18

@Annny27 sorry AF has arrived for you too, we can be cycle buddies again - hopefully last time for us both!

@Posy1 thank you for the info, it’s good you have got the process started. I will give my GP a call and see what they say. Called a couple of private clinics this AM but the ones that are close to me aren’t properly open and I don’t want to be getting on the tube to go into central London at the moment.

KK251289 · 18/06/2020 13:27

@dsc1 sorry to hear AF has arrived, hope you're doing ok x x

Posy1 · 18/06/2020 13:29

@KK251289 you should be able to get it in supermarkets. I usually just buy mine on amazon. You can technically take 2 every 4 hours, but I've only ever needed 2 before bed and I find I'm less stressed the next day too. Could just be the affects of a good night's sleep though.
