AnxiousAnnie86 · 17/06/2020 10:42

@gypsywater ooooooo yaaay! You could be the BFP We are all waiting for! X

Twinkletoes85 · 17/06/2020 10:58

I really hope we get a bfp soon. We had a few then it's gone a bit quiet so I think we're are definitely due!

For the ladies not on fb we've been taking podcasts and @jessmcg had recommended one called big fat negative.

I've been listening this morning and honestly it's fab. I've laughed and cried at their 'journeys' already. A lot of information provided in a really easy listening way.

If anyone likes a good podcast this is one to look up!

Wow..lots to catch up on. Sorry I don't usually get much of a chance to post during the week, but I try to catch up when I can (mostly at weekends).

We are def due a few BFPs in this group. Fingers crossed they will be like busses and we will get a load at once.

So I'm taking a bit of a bold move and have started to take DHEA. Had to wait 5 weeks for it to arrive from the states so only started 2 days ago. Have also ordered a testosterone check from medichecks to monitor it. As I'm over 40, my DHEA is likely to be low though. Getting my day 3 blood checks next week, so hoping the DHEA doesn't interfere with those.

Posy1 · 17/06/2020 13:10

@Twinkletoes85 that really gave me a giggle. At least you didn't see anymore.😂😂

@Seafrontsky, sorry to hear your temp has dropped and @Annny27@Swifty2 about AFs arrival. One month closer to that BFP. Sending hugs.

@Hoping41 what does the pomegranate juice do? I was going to start grapefruit juice as soon as AF arrives to try and increase EWCM. Is it similar?

@DSC1 how many Dpo are you? Have you tested? Could it be implantation bleeding?

@Posy1 what's DHEA sorry? Xxx

DSC1 · 17/06/2020 13:56

@Posy1 I’m 14 DPO - did a test just before ordering more OPKs, knew it would be a BFN so didn’t feel bad at seeing that. Not sure what’s going on, sounds a bit similar to what @Swifty2 had this month as well.

Where are you in your cycle?

Swifty2 · 17/06/2020 14:18

@DSC1 yeah definitely sounds like we've had a similar cycle! I'm hoping so much it goes back to "normal" (hopefully with a nice bfp at the end!!!) as I'm having a period from hell now too which is not nice! I'm sorry about your bfn, it's still not nice even when you're half expecting it! Xx

Posy1 · 17/06/2020 14:23

@AnxiousAnnie86 its a hormone precurser. It's only available on prescription here, but you can buy it over the counter in the US. Alot of IVF clinics use it if women are over 40 or with diminished ovarian reserve as their DHEA levels tend to be low. Studies have shown it can increase egg quality and in one study more than 10% of the women got pregnant naturally before the IVF while taking it for 3 months.

The problem is if you take too much you can get side effects of increased testosterone, so you have to be careful and monitor your levels.

I might be crazy.....I haven't told my OH I'm taking it, but I reckon it's worth a shot and if I get side effects I will stop / lower the dose.

@DSC1 it must be frustrating. I hate waiting for AF to arrive. Did you temp and notice a temp drop?

I'm 7 dpo, but almost certain that I'm already out as I ovulated on day 9/10, so too early. 😖

Annny27 · 17/06/2020 14:36

@Swifty2 I am also having a pretty painful period! Kick me when I am down mother nature 🤣

Hoping41 · 17/06/2020 16:13

Mh, I've just posted a message that didn't appear so sorry if a near repeat appears later. .

@posy1 that's really interesting about the DHEA, I've never heard of it before. I'm also over 40 and it definitely makes things harder. The pomegranate juice is to improve your uterine lining. I remember when I lived in Dubai that it was thought of as a fertility food but I didn't know why. I'm going to drink a small glass a day between af and ov. I'm also drinking grapefruit juice for 5 days leading up to ov and red raspberry leaf tea for 5 days after. I'm also seed cycling and doing castor oil packs. I sound crazy!!

Twinkletoes85 · 17/06/2020 16:16

So I'm listening to the bfn podcast and they have a guest talking about what he would say a normal period is.

He mentioned he would say a two day flow isn't 'normal' and it's got me concerned as I would say I have one day of medium flow and two days of a light flow. It's definitely a shorter flow than it was pre birth control many many years ago.

I know we've mentioned this before but does anyone known anything more about what a 'normal' period is?

Hi all, I’ve been stalking the thread for the past few days, OH & I started TTC May last year, eventually got my BFP in December only to find out it was an ectopic. We had to be careful for the next few months as I had the MTX injection.
Anyway we’ve been TTC but not tracking DTD when the EWCM was present.
AF due today, I’ve been having some serious night sweats for the past few days and out of a whim I thought I’d test..... here it is 😬 fingers crossed this sticky bean is where it should be!
Good luck & baby dust to you all ladies, there is hope xx

@Bella330 @Bella330 congratulations! That's wonderful news and I'm so glad you posted it, we're due some BFPs in this group and it's nice to see that it does happen!!

Bella330 · 17/06/2020 16:31

@Swifty2 thank you! I was a little surprised at the result! It took us ages last time and so much effort went into tracking my cycles. I feel everyone’s pain and disappointment of yet another cycle passing by without a BFP. I’m sure you will all get one soon though! In the meantime... have fun DTD 😊 xx

Tink2019 · 17/06/2020 16:35

Ahhhh @bella330 that is truly wonderful news!! Huge congratulations to you xx

@Seafrontsky I love that quote, thank you for sharing...today has been a bit pants, but seeing that has made me determined to keep going 😊 x

The reason today has been pants is we had our consultation with the fertility clinic and my husband’s semen analysis is all good (yey!) but they suspect I have PCOS and possibly endometriosis. Plan is to change diet (apparently I eat way to much fruit!), have more hormone tests day 2-5 of next cycle then following cycle start Clomid. If nothing changes they’ll then do a laparoscopy to check for endometriosis and treat it there and then. I’m glad we have a plan, but feel overwhelmed as this was not what I was expecting. Does anyone else on here have PCOS?? Literally never considered it before, so I’m clueless!

1940s · 17/06/2020 16:35

Hi all, I've been pointed to this thread after starting my own thread of woe and frustration! Nice to 'meet' you all! And here's to BFP's coming soon...

Swifty2 · 17/06/2020 16:38

@Tink2019 I have PCOS! Happy to help if I can! I've done a fair amount of research, although you can't tell as my body is still a complete mystery to me most of the time!

DSC1 · 17/06/2020 16:39

@Bella330 huge congratulations to you! Wishing you all the best for a successful pregnancy... it’s so lovely to see a BFP on the group :)

@Posy1 I don’t temp so no idea. There has been a lot of talk lately about trying to make ovulation a bit later, have you tried anything? Do you normally ovulate cd 9/10?

@Twinkletoes85 my periods are definitely different after coming off birth control. I was put on the pill when I was young as I had some hormonal unbalance and the pill helped with that. So I was on it for about 18 years. Now my periods are probably 1 day of heavy flow and the rest is just very light/when I go to the toilet (sorry tmi). What would the guest say normal is?

Bella330 · 17/06/2020 16:41

@Tink2019 thank you!

Hopefully this will give you some encouragement, I wasn’t diagnosed fully with PCOS however I had a scan back in 2018 and I was told that I have lots and lots of ovarian cysts. The nurse told me it’s basically a hormone imbalance and she’s seen lots of women with the issue become pregnant.

Endometriosis I know very little about! I have everything crossed you’ll get your beautiful BFP soon! Xx

KK251289 · 17/06/2020 16:41

@Bella330 awwww that's so wonderful, congratulations. Thank you for sharing, been very low today. Woke up at 5am after yet another dream of not being able to have a baby. Whenever I see a BFP I feel hopeful again that it will be me one day.

Welcome @1940s whereabouts in your cycle are you?

Twinkletoes85 · 17/06/2020 16:42

@bella330 congratulations!! It's great to see someone finally get a bfp! And even better after what you've been through 😊🎉
