Hi All, I'm on cycle day 11 doing the SMEP! Praying it'll work this month with preseed. Anyone else doing it this month?

Me! First attempt. Positive OPK yesterday. Cycle day 12 today. Also got pre-seed - not overloading with that, just using a bit?

Yes I'm also doing it and will use preseed closer to ov, only CD7 today.

I have a question about calculating days post ovulation though. I don't do temping so I don't know exactly when post ovulation is. I got a very strong positive OPK Wednesday morning so does that mean I am 1 DPO today, Thurs morning? Or do I add 24 hours to my surge, guess that pinpoints approx ovulation, and then I'm 1 DPO Friday morn?? 🤔

@Lnix Technically if you got your surge yesterday, today you ovulate, tomorrow is 1dpo. However, on reading it doesn't always work like that. You can ovulate quite soon after the surge. They say 12-36 hours but can be longer or shorter. So it's a bit finger in the air. Lol.
Anyway- I got my peak Wednesday morning too so we are at the same point!

@paintfairy - this is my first attempt using Preseed and SMEP together! My OH said he felt it's was very slippery! I thought.. as long as you don't slide out we will be okay

@Lnix I've been trying for 15 months. I take it as..

DAY 1 - Positive Ovulation test
Day 2 - ovulation day
Day 3 - 1DPO

So tomorrow will be 1DPO

@paintfairy you sound like an expert too. How many months TTC?

@MummyT13 Not an expert. Only 3. But I'm impatient. 😂 And obsessive.......

I've only started pre-seed this month too. I've actually used it without DH commenting so I'm guessing he didn't notice. I don't need loads this time of the month so was just using a little. Its hard to gauge? Figured a swimming pool wasn't ideal though. 😂 But adding it in later isn't great, with the method you are supposed to use. He hated that idea when I got it. So I was trying to not resort to that. He's not questioned whether I've used it or not......

I have actually preferred trying SMEP to a frantic 3 days of pressurised sex 🤣 this has surprised me as I was wondering if stamina would be an issue!

As for preseed...yeah I think a little goes a long way! When I read the instructions it said most women find 2 or 3g enough. 3g was wayyyyy too much 🙊 I def have to sneak it in first though...don't think there is anything remotely sexy about doing a little science experiment in the middle of The Moment. Ha ha ha. Best to get it sorted and get rid of the evidence 🤣

@Lnix 😂 That was my take! Hardly gets you in the mood.
I've been using 1g or between 1g and 2g.

@paintfairy I use 2g too. My OH asked if I was gonna turn him into a gynaecologist and could he do it 😂😂 I was like.. nooooo! 3 months.. I started using OPK around that time and still nothing yet unfortunately.

@Lnix it's been quite stressful to be honest because I've already got 2 from a previous relationship and my OH has been with me for 3 years and trying for 15 months and nothing yet. Had a couple of chemicals but that's it. I can't wait to have another one though. Mine are 7 & 5 now I wanna bubba.

Every month I hope will be our month because both my brothers have had babies in the 15 months we have been trying.

Aw that does sound stressful. It is hard when others around you seem to be getting pregnant at the drop of a hat!

Have you guys all followed SMEP to the letter? What is the point of that skipped day at the end? Seems quite a way past ov by the stage?

I have so far. So just got tonight to go. Then Sunday. No idea what the point of the skipped day is? I suppose in case you ovulate much later than the surge?

Sounds about right. One more go for us tonight too...then I'll be delighted to see that night off!!

Got my positive OPK on Wednesday so just finished the last of the 3 days - glad for a rest tomorrow! We've been trying for 3 years so throwing everything at it now, reflexology, preseed & a soft cup this month 😂

Well what looks like early ovulation has kind of ruined my SMEP efforts. Managed to DTD ov-4, day before and day of ovulation (if my temp stays high in the morning, as all OPKs are now negative). Will maybe try to DTD again tomorrow (2dpo) just in case it's slightly delayed but I reckon we've done all we can this month unless this was just a false alarm, I suppose my temps will confirm!

I got a peak OPK today so I'm guessing ovulating tonight/tomorrow. Cd 21 and also using pre-seed for the first time.

I never have much EWCM (hence pre-seed) but had loads yesterday and today and bled a little (immediately googled, assuming ovulation spotting) so we'll see. Dtd yesterday, today and will try to tomorrow and Sunday.

Followed the smep rules. So started my 3 days as from Wednesday (got my peak that morning) but it's now looking like I ovulated Wednesday! So we failed at doing it the day before O because it came too quickly! We were DTD every other day before, so had done it Monday. But honestly!

Usually I spot and didn't though so it's not as definite as normal. And my boobs don't hurt yet either which is unusual. Part of me is worried I didn't at all! I did get loads of cm though around that time. Who knows. Wait and see now.....

How we all feeling? I'm just on the last of my 3 days today. I have 30 day cycles and tomorrow is day 14 so my peak came early this month. Anyone's else have 30 day cycles but ovulate before day 14?

@MummyT13 I have ovulated early before but I've never been off birth control long enough to figure out how long my cycles are before getting pregnant 🤦🏻‍♀️

Looks like my peak opk on CD7 was a false alarm as my temps haven't increased enough to confirm ovulation, so I'm still waiting for the next peak, only CD10 today but will try to DTD tonight. Won't be able to do CD12 as DH is on nights that day. So will have to hope the peak doesn't come until at least CD13. Feeling a bit deflated this cycle for some reason, don't know what my body is playing at!

I'm still unable to get an accurate temp. Still no usual symptoms either. Tonight is meant to be my last night after having a night off yesterday. But that didn't actually happen. 😂

@littletandme I feel deflated too! Normally my CM matches up with ovulation but it hasn't quite happened yet but I've been using preseed so I don't know if maybe I just haven't haven't noticed.

@paintfairy I haven't ever done the temp thing because my POAS obsession is already too much. But I will start next month I think.

Leutal phase is usually 14 days but either my cycles is gonna be shorter or I get my peak a few days before I ovulate 🤷🏻‍♀️

@MummyT13 tonight is supposed to be the last night (completed our 3 consecutive days on Friday) - really need to find some energy! My tracking is all over the place! Femometer says I ovulated 7 days ago but I got my peak OPK on Wednesday & Natural Cycles is still trying to decide what day I ovulated. I'm CD19 so only another week til AF is due & we'll find out if any of it's worked!

@3isthemagic I bet you can't wait! Mine feels like forever! My birthday is the 6th of March and AF is due on the 3rd so I'd really like the best present ever this month. Otherwise the witch turning up on my bday is gonna suck!

@MummyT13 at least you will be able to have birthday drinks - I try to think of a little bonus/treat for myself when AF arrives - compensation!

This is my chart so far this month, I can't figure why it thinks I ovulated so early?

@3isthemagic looks like it's because your earlier temps were lower than they have been since "ovulation" but if you go into that specific day and found Ovulation then set it as "no" it should recalculate.
