Hi All, I'm on cycle day 11 doing the SMEP! Praying it'll work this month with preseed. Anyone else doing it this month?

I usually get AF pretty much bang on even my app predicts too. Only because I now am confused, if it doesn't come 29/29 it might well be because I only ovulated yesterday. In which case I'll have to wait a few more days! I don't want to test unless AF is late.

@paintfairy @Lnix I wish that I could hold out that long anyway but I've had 2 chemical pregnancies and the doctor said that if I have another one then they'll do further investigations and the only way of knowing that is having blood tests every day/2days and becoming someone's pin cushion (gonna cause more harm I think) or POAS from 7DPO to see what happens

We didn't manage to DTD for our last night of SMEP & feeling pretty disheartened as despite getting a strong peak on my OPK Femometer is now saying my temp isn't high enough indicating a luteal deficiency 😢 so does that mean I didn't actually ovulate?

paintfairy · 17/02/2020 18:30

@3isthemagic what's your temp? Mine isn't as high as normal this month either. Was 36.62 this morning. It's usually over 36.70 by now. I'm 5 dpo (I think)

3isthemagic · 17/02/2020 20:41

@paintfairy this is what it says in the app - my temps are all over the place

@3isthemagic They are slightly lower than mine but I've had an erratic month too. Last month's chart looked more normal. This month is all over!

I have the rumblings of period pain today. I usually get it about a week before AF comes so that's about right. Not badly at all, but there in the background on and off. Sometimes I convince myself it could be implantation cramps but it never seems to be 😭 feel annoyed.

I've got a high OPK four days after I had my peak, so now I'm confused and miffed. I've not had a blazing positive this cycle or last. And DH is doing 12 hours shifts and DS is on half term, so won't get a chance to dtd again now. So that feels a bit shit.

Text DH to tell him and being maudlin, he's just text back with a filthy message about when he gets home and a winky face Grin

Good to have an eager DH! 😂 good luck. I actually only ever test leading up to the peak and until it goes negative. Then I stop as can't be bother poas any longer than necessary! So for all I know I'm getting random peaks too and just don't know about it 🤔 I also don't bbt. Feeling like I should but really don't think it would be good for my stressing...

MySweetLittleTriffid · 18/02/2020 14:32

It's why I've not got a thermometer Lnix I don't want multiple ways of stressing, I'd be beside myself...she says...whilst googling thermometers Grin

I am fortunate with DH, he can always be relied upon for a boner "Is this for pleasure or are you using me for my sperm?" Grin

paintfairy · 18/02/2020 15:37

I've decided not to BBT next month because it really does add to the stressing!

@MySweetLittleTriffid 😂😂😂😂 cant stop laughing at your post! My OH tells me all the time that I only want him for his sperm! I tell him that if he had more uses then maybe I would also need him for maybe the washing up too 🙈😂

I'm 6dpo. If it happened when I think it did. 🙄

5 DPO I think (based on my OPKs) still not confirmed by BBT

Lnix · 18/02/2020 18:28

@Mysweetlittletriffid that made me laugh too!!

I think I'm 6DPO. Expecting AF (or not) next Tues 25th as usually have 13 day luteal phase. That 7 day stretch of time currently feels about one year away.

No idea, I don't think I've ovulated yet!

MySweetLittleTriffid · 18/02/2020 18:36

3 dpo according to premom, but I thought 4dpo. Could actually be that I haven't ovulated yet also. It's shit not knowing 3isthe have you had any investigation?

I've got a GP appointment to discuss my blood test results next week, I don't actually know what I want to hear though.

He's a good sport Mummy and just pleased to be having a lot of sex I think Grin

Those who do BBT, do you have to stay still when you do it? I'm wondering if my Fitbit takes temperature now.

Lnix · 18/02/2020 18:44

@MySweetLittleTriffid how long have you been trying? I know you're suppose to wait 12 months before seeing gp but I'm toying with the idea. Do you have any other kids? Hope you get blood results that are helpful! Xxx

PS from what I understand you need to have been asleep for 4 hours to get an accurate reading. (This would be a problem for me due to getting up for the bathroom during the night etc but think a 4 hour stretch of sleep is ok as long as you take the temp immediately then). I think Fit Bit can do it but it takes a skin temp reading which may be fractionally different. Think there are some experts in here though so best yo talk to them! X

Lnix I've got a 3 yo DS. I've been tracking since he was about 12 months, never actually preventing and am on no contraception (and haven't been since 2013) but actually 'trying' since December.

I'm 33 and my cycles are often in excess of 42(-47) days and I don't always ovulate and my periods are floodgate heavy, so even if we weren't actively TTC my GP decided my cycles needed looking into as a matter of course. Gynae appointments have a waiting list of 4-6 months though so it won't be speedy.

How old are you and how long have you been trying?

Ah those cycles and periods sound tough going! 😑 glad you are getting looked into. I'm 34 with a 4 year old dd. Put off trying for a second due to feeling traumatised after a difficult birth (all ok in the end) and as I fell pregnant very easily with her, I fell into the trap of thinking it would be the same second time round. This is cycle 8 of trying. I know that's not tremendously long but I'm a bit of a worrier (at best)! I've used opks for about 6 months. My cycles are about 26 days give or take. X

I got a strong positive OPK yesterday and didn't see a temp rise this morning. Praying for a good temp spike tomorrow morning so that I can officially be 1DPO. Also because I had lots of flashing smileys in a row we've had non stop sex and we both need a break!

@mysweetlittletriffid I had blood tests last year which came back "normal", GP not prepared to refer me for any further investigation until hubby has tests to rule that our. He's not keen & I don't want to push it. I think I'll do one more month of BBT and if it's still not able to find ovulation I'll go back & ask for day 21 blood tests. After 3 years of trying I'm very close to calling it a day altogether
