Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

Well. Turns out even an 11DPO BFP makes running more than 6 miles much harder than 2 weeks ago. Yikes. Shock

Swife · 16/03/2020 06:51

So I'm ttc cycle 11. I'm so discouraged! I'm 39 as of January and I'm beginning to think my cm is killing my Husband's sperm and I will never be a mother😒. I'm with giving up or gonna keep trying till it's over. Y mind is garbled and I'm having mixed feelings. In reality I know I don't have much time so I'm thinking...is it worth the sad feeling after every TWW? Long story short. My af came today so I'm out😔.

Starburst12 · 17/03/2020 11:42

@Swife I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time. It’s totally understandable to feel the way that you are. Have you been to see a doctor about TTC?

Starburst12 · 17/03/2020 11:43

@EithneBlue wow I would never be able to run 6 miles, pregnant or not!! Blush well done to you for doing it though!!

Vikki90 · 17/03/2020 17:56

@EithneBlue just catching up! Massive congratulations my lovely! This is fab news! Hope everyone else is keeping ok. This corona virus is just awful..stay safe lovelies xx

EithneBlue · 17/03/2020 22:21

@Starburst12 - the first 6 miles were fine: it was the subsequent 7 that I didn't enjoy -- it was a massive difference from what I'm used to being able to do. I guess shorter runs for me from now on!

Strong line on FRER and digital yesterday said positive.
Eep.
Talk about poor timing though: I'm a teacher so still surrounded by coughing germ-monsters at all times. Bloody typical! I've had to invest in hand cream to undo the damage caused by all the hand washing. I'm hoping schools will just close soon, to be honest, so that I can hide away until it's all over.

Swife · 20/03/2020 08:30

@Starburst12 thanks🥰 I'm sad but willing to keep going till I can't. The struggle is real but so is my desire to be a mother

peachypetite · 21/03/2020 09:54

Going a bit crazy. Still no sign of my period. I did a cheap boots test a couple of days ago and negative. I am worried about my husband’s job security and the nhs strain so I have been hoping it will come and I can stop TTC. At first I thought my period was due yesterday but I have a new phone so my flo app started on empty and was using a 30 day cycle to predict period. The last few months have been 26-28 day cycles, short. I am hoping it’s stress making my period late but I guess a more sensitive pregnancy test will be the easiest way to know. Thinking of all you ladies who are pregnant, it must be very worrying for you. I am so worried for what our future holds.

EithneBlue · 21/03/2020 10:37

@peachypetite - get an FRER to be sure. If it's still negative then it's probably "just" stress delaying your period. Take some time to care for yourself and whilst it's worrying, do take the time for your own mental health. Will your husband qualify for support under the new government guidelines, and will your job be more secure than his?

I actually told my line manager at work on Friday, so I'm now exempted from having to go in as part of the care for children of key workers next week and will be WFH instead (along with anyone who has asthma or any other health condition so I'm hoping that'll mask the real reason, although I'm fairly sure I drunkenly told a few colleagues we were TTC before Christmas so maybe not LOL). Social distancing where possible now, although I am still going out to the shops and for walks for my own sanity. The official advice is that the risk to pregnancy is low, and when I called the local midwife service they seemed to think it was probably cautious advice to err on the safe side but still advised me to follow RCOG guidelines.

My CB digital moved to 2-3 weeks on Thursday - right on schedule. I have another one lined up for next week and may possibly have checked again with another FRER this morning (starting to noticeably dye steal)... Fingers and toes all crossed. Turns out I am not overly anxious about Coronavirus, but I am generally anxious about staying pregnant... the hormones must be messing with my head because I know logically that on the balance of probability it'll likely be fine, but still anxious and have become a bit of a knicker checker Blush.

peachypetite · 21/03/2020 12:29

Thank you @EithneBlue.
I’ve found a frer! Will take tomorrow first thing. I am glad you’ve come to an agreement with work you have to look after yourself.

Vikki90 · 21/03/2020 12:49

@EithneBlue glad you are sorted with work, I have told my manager to and I am working from home as of Monday, I thought it was all just precautionary but the last couple of days have started to scare me so I have been given the option to work from home which is a relief. I am also anxious about pregnancy and am to checking myself all the time! I think this is pretty normal and reassuring to hear you are the same as me! It’s now even more of an anxious time but as long as we look after ourselves I am confident we will all be fine, I was told to drink lots of water and hot drinks as they flush out any viruses should we get them...stay safe everyone xxx

peachypetite · 22/03/2020 06:39

Morning. I am pregnant. Line pretty strong on the test. I feel nervous and anxious but the first thing that came into my mind when I saw it was happiness. I still can’t believe our timing though, for gods sake!

EithneBlue · 22/03/2020 07:11

@peachypetite - that's great news! Congratulations!! :-) I feel a bit nervous and anxious too: I blame the hormones as I am not normally a worrier ;-) You should do the same.
Yeah the timing is a bit* rubbish but the RCOG advice was updated yesterday and lowers the risk a bit for those of us in the first trimester. Midwife services are also unlikely to get pulled away to cover other things. I think it'll be OK. Stay well away from any thread on here that mentions Coronavirus though: trust me. Not because it will worry you: because there's a rabbit hole of judgemental internet people that you don't want to touch with a flaming barge pole.
*a bit, in this case, is a synonym for 'spectacularly'

Life will go on. It has to: it's inside us.

peachypetite · 22/03/2020 07:15

@eithne thanks for replying!!! I think I’ll tell my sister and my mum today. We are all really close. By phone I mean. It’s Mother’s Day!! ❤️
If my period wasn’t late I wouldn’t have had any symptoms at all other than some random pelvic pain. But I thought it could be pre period cramps.
What do I do now??? My GP is shut. The NHS website has a list of maternity services, I could call there?
I am trying to think of the positives:
Being at home and no socialising will make it much easier to avoid people.
My husband is working from home too so can look after me further down the line if I start feeling rough
Not having to worry about commuting into central London and feeling sick.

Starburst12 · 22/03/2020 07:40

@peachypetite ahh congratulations! Such wonderful news to wake up to. What a perfect day (other than the C word) to find out!
Regarding what to do next, I went to my GP surgery and asked for a midwifery referral. I had to fill in a form and then the midwife contacted me to arrange the booking appointment (at around 8 weeks). I’m not sure how things will be with you with all of this going on but maybe give them a call and ask for guidance.
So happy for you!

EithneBlue · 22/03/2020 07:44

Mine is a direct self referral to the Midwife service. Fill in the form online, they call you back within a week with an appointment. Depends where in the country you are, I think.

Starburst12 · 22/03/2020 07:48

Try the maternity services I mean. I just woke up haha!

EithneBlue · 22/03/2020 08:09

Well I knew what you meant @starburst12 ;-)

Also I have never been such a morning person before in my life... awake at 0600 every day (asleep at 7pm.....). Can I blame the hormones for everything?

Starburst12 · 22/03/2020 08:23

@eithneblue you can 100% blame hormones for absolutely everything! The hormones keep making me forget to do the washing so DP has to do everything 😜
I know what you mean, today was the first day I’ve woken up after 7am and that’s only because I woke up at 2 for the toilet and couldn’t get back to sleep until 4! Pre-pregnancy I loved a good lie in. Now, 7am is a treat!

peachypetite · 22/03/2020 08:40

Ok I’ve been online and found a referral direct. I don’t see the point in going via GP at a time like this! @EithneBlue have yours been in touch? Is your partner allowed to go with you?

EithneBlue · 22/03/2020 08:49

I... er... haven't actually filled out the form yet. I called them and they told me what to do.
Probably ought to get on that 😂

Vikki90 · 22/03/2020 13:57

@peachypetite omg I am soooo happy for you!!!! 😃 congratulations!!! It’s crazy what’s going on but I agree with the others I think it’s just a precaution that we are brought into the vulnerable category, if we all look after ourself and social distance we will be fine! What fab news xxx

peachypetite · 22/03/2020 16:17

Thanks ladies. I’m very happy. It’s been nice having positive news. I’ve self referred to my closest hospital. Glad I can cut the GP out. They are shut and and I’d rather not involve a third party. Bit random but flo app says 5 weeks and NHS says 4 in terms of the calculators.

AliSxo · 22/03/2020 19:06

Hey can I please join? Need some friends right now, been TTC since August, caught in September sadly miscarried day 5 weeks. Feel like it's never going to happen I'm running out of patience. Had a blood test which my gp referred me for which came back fine.

Ovulating next weekend so just trying to focus on that and then again another TWW xxx

peachypetite · 23/03/2020 12:25
