Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

@Lucy5546 sounds like the process i need to try. I will give it a try next month IF my af arrives this month. It great that you are more positive going into the TWW. Wish i could say the same. 🙄. I hope you get your BFP this month. X

@Lucy5546 snap with SMEP, we followed it to the dot this month so really hoping it will lead to a BFP 🤞🏼 I thought it would be really hard but my DH was totally down for it and if it didn't work this cycle then I think we will surely try again next month 😊

It's funny going into this TTC journey I never would of thought I'd be on a forum discussing our sex life 🙈 TTC is a funny oul thing 😂

@peachypetite snap on the vitamins, I'm taking vit D and folic acid too. @mimmi91 I have thought about putting the DH on vitamins too but wasnt sure where to start. I read somewhere eating 3 Brazil nuts a day help the man so that's all he's doing now, worth a try lol 🤷 having tried SMEP this month DTD was a little more regimented but I don't think it killed the mood for us personally. Been with the DH for over 7yrs so don't think we have DTD that much in quite a while 😂 but he's as much on board with wanting to start a family so hasn't become a chore as of yet. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

@jenna30 I also found explaining the process of ovulation to the DH helpful as he now understands why it kinda needs to be scheduled. He even woke up this morning asking if I'm ovulating 😂 had already ovulated last week so still a bit of learning to go. Great to see an interest though 😊

@NCON hahaha love that he woke you up. Good to see that he's showing interest. Which helps the process.

@jenna30 there would be no harm in giving it a go anyway. I thought it would be hard but we actually really enjoyed it. OH had no complaints anyway 😂😂 i am only 1 day in though so that could all change. If its not our month we will move on and try again.

I had tried to explain the whole fertile window to OH and he just couldnt get it. 😂 So i dont twll him when im ovulating and it just works for us. He doesnt want it to become a chore so we will see how we go.

@NCON i feel the same i have spoke about things on this that i dont speak to my best friends about ha. We haven't told anyone we are TTC so its nice to be able to talk on here.

@peachypetite i am not talking any vitamins etc. Im just going yo see how i get on over the nect few months before i dive in. Think im being a bit naive though!!

@Lucy5546 I'm not surprised your OH had no complaints 😂. Im taking the same approach if its not our month then i will definitely try the SMEP approach next month. It will be interesting too see the outcome for us all at the end of December 😃

Hi Lucy you should start taking folic acid before you’re pregnant. It’s super important.

@jenna30 i think it just makes the whole thing a lot more relaxed to be honest. I would say if you know your cycle come up with your own plan. Thats what we did. DTD every other day after AF then when i seen signs of ovulation we did it every day since. People have said its too exhausting etc. But it worked for us and we love it. I didnt temp or use OPKs. Just tracked my CM and cervix. I have done this since coming off the pill so i know whats normal for me.

@peachypetite yes i have read up on folic acid an have had mixed reviews on this. A lot of people just seem to take them after they find out for a few weeks. I think i will look into it in more detail. I haven't been doing this for long so its hard to keep track ha.

@jenna30 I am trying very very hard to ignore anything my body does! Logically I know that I couldn't know anything at 4DPO but you know... you do become hyper aware of everything, don't you?!
I am not going to try tracking BBT - at least for a few months and will reconsider if nothing happens -- I figure it'll stress me out too much and I am too forgetful anyway Grin - I just about remember my overpriced Boots conception vitamins... most days Grin

@jenna30 im only 1 or 2 DPO too. Nothing really to report yet. I feel your pain i was like that last month. Googlimg every little twinge or cramp. Feel a bit more relaxed this month. I have a few things to keep me busy

I dont temp track. Like @EithneBlue i would stress myself too much with that for now. Maybe in a few months if i get nowhere

jenna30 · 17/12/2019 23:38

@EithneBlue yup so hard not over analyse 😂 but will try my best not to. Also bbt tracking i didn't initially want to use it because it would stress me out, however i think it may be a likely option for me next month. Already setting myself up for a BFN this month. On the postive side I'm looking forward to xmas! Is everyone all prepared for the festivities?

@Lucy5546 i guess i need more distraction and hopefully with Christmas approaching it will be the perfect distraction.

Hey all, 6 days DPO here and the symptom spotting has begun 🙈 felt teeny-tiny sharp pains in my back and left side yesterday and today I've ever so slightly sore boobs. I genuinely think I'm just making it up though 😂 I do see a lot of ppl say the month they had no symptoms was the month they were pregnant so who knows

jenna30 · 18/12/2019 07:45

@NCON awh dear. Its crazy how you start thinking about every little feeling. I hope your symptoms lead to the perfect Christmas present 🙌🏾. Do you plan on testing early or are you going to wait until you are officially late??

Good luck to you all, my fingers and toes are crossed for you!
I find this forum can get a bit scary, so am hoping we can hear some success stories! :)

I'm only on CD4, so will start taking OPK in about a week's time I think (my cycles are on the long side) :) Have you all been taking them?? I haven't decided if it's a good idea to do them on my very first TTC cycle ; but then again I don't really know when I'm going to ovulate...

I totally understand not wanting to BBT yet. I started temping a month ago, and have become slightly obsessed... Confused
Plus it doesn't actually help in knowing when ovulation is coming up, as the temp only rises once its too late lol... And every temp that looks abnormal makes me worry a bit.

@mimmi91 i started opk tracking since i came off the pill in September but i was only more proactive with it this cycle which proved to be successful with the positive opk test. It up to you if you want to track it but I found it helpful especially this month because now if my af does arrive this month il know when to check for ovulation next month.

@jenna30 I would like to say I will wait but it's honestly killing me not to test already 🙈 so I'd be very surprised if I made it till after AF is due! How r u doing?

@NCON 😂 i know the feeling! Im better today. i was massively symptom spotting yesterday. Im the same as you I'm going to try and wait till I'm officially late but lets see how that goes! Im not so confident. We should both try and wait if we can.

Haha, I can guarantee I won't wait for AF to test. Knowing that I could test but waiting seems like it would make me anxious and probably make AF late as a result! I shall test at 12 or 13DPO (Christmas/Boxing Day). If it's BFN I'll just wait a few days and see if AF rocks up (or, you know, cave in and test again at 14 or 15 days)...
I do already have the FRER tests sitting in the drawer, though, which might have been a temptation mistake on my part.

jenna30 · 18/12/2019 22:17

@EithneBlue it is always the case isn't it?! I think the only thing that would help me a lot is if i keep myself distracted. Lets see how it goes. 🙄😂. Its when you start symptom spotting closer to your af that you get the urge to test.

Hi guys can I join too... would love someone to go through all this with. I am about 4-5 days post ovulation (1st cycle with baby #2) and now it's a waiting game. It's so bloody stressful already as I keep on symptom spotting and already planning so much in my head... it's so crazy, I think I am my own worst enemy. Ps. I am due for after around 29th December so I feel like it's gonna be a long wait. How is everyone else going with the TWW?

Report
V1983 · 19/12/2019 03:21

Ps. I see a few of you are due for AF around the same time... it will be an interesting two weeks. Baby dust to all

@V1983 of course you can. I agree it will definitely be interesting to see if anyone gets a BFP. Im due af around the 30th. TWW started off difficult but okay at the moment. No obvious symptoms yet but i guess reading that not everyone gets symptoms so early is helping me a little. Baby dust to you too.
