Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

Good luck to everyone else still trying. It really will happen when the time is right. I gave up and then it happened, hang in there.

@jennabfp Yes it was lovely to find out together!
I had a booking appointment at 8 weeks, NHS scan at 12+1 and my 20 week one is on Wednesday. All of my other midwife appointments have been cancelled and I won’t be seeing her until 28 weeks. Covid 19 has disrupted a lot! But I totally understand why, so it’s ok.
I had a private scan at 9 weeks (before lockdown) and another at 16 weeks, so that my partner could come. All NHS are still going ahead solo.
I didn’t hear about my booking appointment until I was over 6 weeks (prior to lockdown) so don’t be alarmed if it takes a while! A lot of people have had theirs later lately, there must be a backlog?
I’d definitely recommend writing down any questions you may have before your booking appointment as my mind completely went blank when I was there! 😂

@Starburst12 awh a girl! Congratulations! I know tell me about it so except for the tiredness I don't feel pregnant at all. I think that's why it was such a shock because this was the first month I was relaxed and wasn't thinking about it hence why I didn't even get a positive opk. I called up the gp this morning and they gave me the number for the local midwifery team and I have just filled out a form. So until I hear from then which I can be upto ten days I guess I just wait. When do you officially have your first scan? I can't imagine how hard it must be not being able to see family and friends for support but it's nice you and your partner got to find out the gender together. X

@jennabfp ahh 24th Jan, how exciting! Feels like ages away but the time will fly! I had less symptoms when I was actually pregnant than when I was TTC 😂 when I had my BFP, I had to inform the dr for them to refer me to midwifery but my health board has changed now and people have to email for a self referral. May be worth finding out if you can skip the drs to speed up the process?
It has gone quick but it seems to have been forever since I had a scan at 16 weeks, which was only 4 weeks ago! We found out we are having a girl 💕 it’s been difficult having to go through all of my appointments alone, but we had a private scan at 16 weeks so we could find out the gender together. Also heard heartbeat for the first time which was lovely. I still haven’t told many friends as Im waiting until my 20 week scan (thankful for lockdown because of this, I’m showing!). I’m nervous for that because of my family medical history. Other than that, I’m fine! Just very very sick still. But it’s worth it Smile

@Starburst12 oh when I called an online dr (service I get through work) they calculated my due date as the 24th of Jan. Winter baby.

@Starburst12 awh god I know this lockdown is awful. I miss seeing my family and friends too and it's just getting suffocating now and will more so now that I have my BFP. I took a digital yesterday which said I was 2-3 weeks. Going to call my GP tomorrow I guess that's the first step. I can't believe you are half way there I feel like it's gone really quick. Has it gone quick for you? No symptoms except mild cramps, stretching and extreme tiredness but I'm only early yet and I guess everyone has different experiences. How are you getting along? X

I’m doing well thank you! Can’t believe I’m almost half way there already. Where has the time gone!? Fed up of lockdown, can’t wait to get out and see family. We didn’t announce until 12 weeks so no one has seen us since!

Hi ladies

I had to change my name as I got rid of MN because I was feeling blah with the whole TTC Journey. But this month I finally got the unexpected BFP. I actually still can't believe it. I have tested two days before my af is due with a frer but there was no hiding that 2nd line it showed up within a few seconds. I'm still in shock. I'm not sure what dpo I am as I didnt test postive on my opk and tbh I gave up with month. I hope everyone is doing okay. And I'm sorry I haven't been in touch. But I see we have had a quite a few BFP's in the group x

@Ails826 one way to know is if you NEVER have egg white cervical mucus during ovulation. Other ways are through the help of a OBGYN. They will most likely check your hormones levels for certain changes in levels. There are vitamins you can take to gel that.

How do we test for the hostile environment what are the trigger signs?
My fertility specialist hasnt mentioned this once to me.
Our next option would be IUI but i def ovulate so would that help skip the hostile environment or im not sure

Its so weird because im not sure when to stop trying things like we did the injection and progesterone do i try that for 3 months then IUI for 3 months? Etc

I find it hard to get in the mind frame of anything might work i feel like oh it wont happen or we will have to tey IVF everything is a waste until we get to that wheb i know thats not true its just how i have been feeling im tryinf ri chnage that mentality

Update: So I'm more and more sure that my Femometer app is the most reliable app I have. From cervix checks and last experience with my cervix with last pregnancy, I knew I wasn't pregnant but I was starting to get more worried again about Luther issues. But AF, it seems, is right on time. I do need to know what's off though especially since I know i covered( except for the day after o)🤔. I'm still leaning towards my cm not being fertile enough. Oh well, time to start over.

So ( with consent from one of my doctors) I fast. I'm also on a special diet for Endometriosis. In that diet there's no processed anything, no beef or pork products, it's mostly nuts, fruits, veggies, fish and poultry. Because of my fasting and diet I also take loads of vitamins. I've been taking prenatal vitamins but along with my other vitamins I cut back as not to over supplement. So when getting my CM to go egg white I've been taking 1200mg fish oil, flaxseed oil, 50mg zinc and a calcium, magnesium, potassium combo, 250mg vitamin c and let's not forget the 10,000mg of vitamin d3 and 400mg vitamin e taken vaginally. The vitamin e and d3 were prescribed by my OBGYN. I hope this helps

@jenna30 I have only just started in the last couple of months. I am excited and also very nervous at the same time. I am in my late thirties and had to battle with PCOS to try and get "normal" cycles. It took me years and years especially as doctors were not helpful, but found some support online eventually with good advice. I have chosen to chart temp, cervix and mucus as I never ovulate at the same day every time. I wish all of use the best of luck and would love to join the discussion!

I'm doing good so far not HCG Testing. Today is 11dpo on Femometer but 12dpo on Premom. Not sure why it's like that I entered my LH tests at the same time in both apps🤔. They even have me starting my period at different times so I'll try to hang on since I should be starting my period between the 11th and the 15th. I have been checking my cervix and it's not high so I'm kind of not expecting to have made it this month but as we know, it not over until AF shows so 🤞🏽. I have 2 days left in my Progesterone round and I usually start my period a day or two after the last dose so we'll see.

@Ails826 I have Endometriosis and after going into remission I was cleared to ttc. After the first loss we found that the Endometriosis meds had an effect on my hormones so I the 10,000 mg of vitamin D vaginally, zinc, magnesium, potassium and vitamin C. My OBGYN also prescribed 200 mg of Progesterone by mouth from cycle days 13-27( it goes vaginally once I get pregnant) I've also upped my water intake. I've always struggled with not having egg white CM so I add the extra vitamins on top of the vitamin D and progesterone my OBGYN prescribed and I got some egg white this cycle. Hope this helps.

I hope all you ladies are staying safe and protected. 🧚🏽‍♀️ Baby Dust to everyone in this journey. It can be tough but for us here, Motherhood is worth the fight.

Ooo im going to look into that and see of we do it for next time !
Yes working from home, 2ww is always pretty bad but I am usually quite casual about it but this time becaise we did the pregnyl shot and progesterone daily i have to go for a blood test to check for pregnancy and I suppose having ti wait for a phone call from a nurse to say yes or no to be is really bothering me and I must admit I dont let mysf ever think it might be the month because i find it worse i just had a really down day. I keep active and bake and cook when im waiting anything to keep me from.thinkijg about it
I also had funny timeframes in my head that i know i need to let go of, just turning 29 means i might be over 30 and i dont even know why i have that as a milestone haha but I am getting over that one fairly quickly
I have only ever used the purple clearblue but this month i ovulated on CD16 or 17 and thats really late for me and now i dont know of maybe i was missing it each time im not sure

Hey @ails826, that brill with the vitamins, does your husband take Zinc as well? My BF starting using that last month. I've just checked and it's conceive plus I have not preseed but the same thing haha. I used the cheap amazon OPK and they were really useful then logged them on my app.

Ooo I wouldn't want to put my nun through that aha.. buy hey! needs must ;)

So the SMEP is the sperm meets egg plan, it's basically a schedule of when to have sex in your cycle. You'll have to read into it for it to make sense as there is a lot more to it, haha but it has really good success rates. I must admit, this past month was the first time I wasn't obsessing over it, I had the deflated attitude of it will just happen when it happens.

How are you dealing with the 2WW? Are you currently working from home with the circumstances? xx

Hi @Ails862, sorry to hear about the long wait :(. The last month I had people announcing their pregnancies left, right and center and it was so deflating. But please hang in there, it will happen when it's supposed to, everything happens for a reason (I know it's not what you want to hear lol)

Have you looked into the SMEP? I loosely followed it this month and also used preseed lubricant and it seems to have done the job. Also, are you taking any vitamins? Have you also tried OPK or an app? Sorry for the 101 questions haha.

Hope you get your BFP this month :) xx
