Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

@yoomoo haha, that's good! I've ordered some now which should be here in time for my fertile window in a few days 😊

@BernadetteThreep all good here, AF has just finished so nearing time to try! Flo says fertile time is around 3rd Jan onwards with OV on the 9th. We've never DTD without protection before, which I'm weirdly nervous about even though it's what we want!
Hope AF appears for you soon, I felt like that last week as cycle ended up being longer than I'm used to. Wish they gave more information about this before you start the pill, I never really thought about how it affects everything until now!

Let us know how you get on with the BBT, I've not tried that before 🙂

PlomBear · 30/12/2019 12:43

Nearly 34 and decided that time is right to start trying in the New Year! Xmas Grin

Pre-conception vitamins and we’ve both stopped drinking!

Spark27 · 30/12/2019 17:13

Hi ladies, hope everyone had a good Christmas and now have a bit of time to calm down from all the holiday craziness.
So my AF was 100% in line with my period tracking app this month (crazy as it was 4 days early last month) so I'm now on CD7. App is telling me to start using OPK in 3 days time, but expecting to actually ovulate on around CD15.
I got some cheap OPK tests from amazon (One Step, I think) and they worked for me last time, so hopefully they will help me again.
I have considered tracking BBT but I know I'll forget. Esp with DD shouting at me in the am.

I've been taking folic acid for about a month, and will start with the vit D once/if I get pregnant. I'm going to keep drinking up to new year (not heavily, being hungover with a 2yo is terrible), but will then lay off it a bit.
Fx to everyone x

lucymagoo · 30/12/2019 17:41

Thank god for dry January as an excuse to not drink this month. Not sure what I'm going to do after that as my friends are all huge drinkers, I feel like they will tell right away if I'm not drinking especially where my partner and I just got married and all the questions seem to be about when we are going to start trying 🤦🏻‍♀️
Anyone else using dry January as an excuse?

switcharoo · 30/12/2019 19:04

Anyone else's DH not want to know when they're ovulating etc?! DH said not to tell him as he doesn't do well with the extra pressure to perform so to speak but I can't see how I'm going to hide it when I want us to have Dec 3 or 4 times in a week...it's a bit more than we'd normally do the deed! Ha

Spark27 · 30/12/2019 19:27

@lucymagoo with my first I managed to be 'busy' for the month after I found out. The next month I had to cancel going out for my birthday as me not drinking would have been obvious. I blamed it on a dodgy prawn Grin. If you have to go out try and get your OH on side and swap drinks with them (although they may end up really drunk!) Or sneak to the bar separately and order things that look alcoholic but aren't. Tonic without the gin, etc

BernadetteThreep · 31/12/2019 09:20

I'm not much of a drinker, so will be easy to get away with just "having a coke" Wink
Took my first BBT this morning, just want to start getting into the habit of it since AF still hasn't arrived Envygot that heavy feeling in my pelvis, nausea and exhaustion. But then again I've also got a stinking cold!

Hope everyone has a lovely New Year's Eve!

Florence13 · 31/12/2019 18:41

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year!! And here's to lots of BFPs in 2020!!

lucymagoo · 31/12/2019 18:53

Happy 2020! Hoping for BFPs for all x

alliejay81 · 01/01/2020 11:14

Can I join the bandwagon please? I'm a bit older - 38, this year is my final push TTC DC2. I'm going to spend this morning planning so I'm ready when my new cycle arrives!

Bims2019 · 01/01/2020 12:15

Happy new year all! Hope it's a lucky one for us all Smile

@lucymagoo I'm very tempted to do dry January, drank a reasonable amount last night so it can only be a good thing to have a bit of a break! Like you say, it's also a good excuse and people hopefully won't ask too many questions.

@switcharoo not sure how much detail to go into with DH, I don't think knowing when I'm ovulating would affect him but also don't want to make it too clinical/ regimented... It's a tricky one.

Welcome to any newbies!

lucymagoo · 01/01/2020 12:26

@alliejay81 welcome!

Happy new year all!

rhirhibumblebee · 01/01/2020 13:14

Happy New Year everyone!! It was my DS Birthday yesterday so it's been crazy busy. Glad to get back to routine although back to work for the day tomorrow 😩.

CD 9 but had the odd spot here and there still since AF. Not usual for me so I don't know if I'll ovulate or not (first AF after the MC ). I'll just go with the flow this month.

@Bims2019 I'm using the Flo app too, it reckons I'll ovulate 6th so fingers crossed for us next week!

710BH · 01/01/2020 13:40

Hi everyone! Happy New Year to you all!
This is the year that myself & my DP have decided to TTC. It will #1 for us both - very excited!
My last pill is Monday and then I’ll ended to monitor my cycle and wait for it to return to normal. I’m on the mini pill so don’t really get consistent periods (some months I do, some months I don’t) so will need to see how that regains normality!
Looking forward to reading your journeys, following tips and advice and hopefully share 2020 babies with you!
Good luck to everyone 😚

yoomoo · 01/01/2020 16:03

Afternoon all, Happy New Year! Fingers crossed for BFPs all round in the next few months!

2 weeks off the pill for me now and not a sign of AF, I’ve had the feeling that it’s coming for about a week now but nothing 🙄 feel like I want to take a test but I know I’ll be disappointed if it’s negative which is totally silly because I know it’s only been 2 weeks and could take months! I’ve had terrible back ache and nausea for a week now, I assume it’s another side effect of coming off a pill but annoying nonetheless.
Back to work tomorrow after the break, my partner works nights so it’s going to be more tricky DTD but luckily he’s off the next few weekends so we can get to it Grin no idea about ovulating, I could’ve sworn I ovulated around 20th Dec but who knows!
I’ve got some ovulation sticks now but not sure when to start using them? I’m guessing I need a cycle start date to base it from?!

How is everyone else doing?

Happy New Year everyone!

I've been looking at starting to take Folic Acid and Vit D tablets. Is anyone taking these? If so where do you get yours from? Looking for the best value Smile

NeverGotMyPuppy · 01/01/2020 16:07

Hi!
We are starting TTC this month. I was due on yesterday but havent come on so I think my cycles arent regular anymore - with DS they were and we conceived 1st try. I think I best get some ovulation sticks.

JaffaCakeGal · 01/01/2020 16:15

Same here @yoomoo backache, cramps etc! So frustrating as I was getting a lot of breakthrough bleeds a few months ago and now I want AF she's nowhere to be seen! I'm going to do a test this weekend then every 2 weeks after just to make sure but I think it's just my body playing silly beggars!

I know I said I don't want to be pregnant before March but I want my body to do what it's supposed to Grin

BernadetteThreep · 01/01/2020 16:19

Snap, still no AF but still got that heavy feeling in my pelvis.
I've started to feel a little less crazy about it now. Started tracking my BBT, so feel a bit more controlled about it all now haha

Going to start my New Years house clear out, should keep me nice and busy Grin

1987Nic · 01/01/2020 16:49

@yoomoo Nearly two weeks off for me and been getting heavy pains the last few days. I have already been prescribed vitamin d a few years ago so not sure if I would need more now we are trying to conceive?

lucymagoo · 01/01/2020 17:49

Yeah my hips are aching, sore breasts too. Not sure how long until a withdrawal bleed, it's nearly 3 weeks now off the pill

yoomoo · 01/01/2020 17:54

Hi @Fluffysocks10 I’ve found these ones in my local Lloyd’s Pharmacy, they’ve got all the vitamins needed incl folic acid and vitamin D! Exactly the same as Pregnacare but only £3.99 instead of £15+. Would recommend Smile
@NeverGotMyPuppy welcome! Were you on the pill up until now? Few of us on here who’ve been on the pill and getting increasingly annoyed at our bodies 😂
@JaffaCakeGal shall we both test this weekend? Be nice to have someone doing at the same time! I know it’s going to be negative but would like to see either way. I’ve also said I’d like to get pregnant in March as I would love a December baby but same as you equally frustrated I’m not immediately pregnant now Grin we are a funny bunch aren’t we!
@BernadetteThreep I’ve got that feeling too it’s really annoying. Stupid question how are you tracking BBT? With just a normal thermometer, in ear or in mouth one?! Sorry for the stupid questions I might try that too!

@yoomoo thank you!
No we've only been using condoms since DS was born. Before that I had the Mirena but my periods came back straight away after I had it removed and we conceived the next month. Weird!

JaffaCakeGal · 01/01/2020 18:15

@yoomoo it's a deal Grin I'm certain it will be negative but then again we have history in my immediate family of quick pregnancies (I was an unplanned product of my parents honeymoon, as my dad was adamant it wouldn't happen so quickly haha!)

switcharoo · 01/01/2020 18:21

I'd love to conceive in Feb as DH turns 40 and I keep hoping I'll be able to surprise him as an extra present on his birthday, it's also helping take the pressure off for January
