Anyone looking to start TTC in New Year?

Join here please! I’m still taking my pill at the moment but current packet runs out on 7th Jan so planning to start then but not really track anything officially. I’ve been reading up about conception vitamins and going to buy some this week to start taking after new year- does anyone have recommendations for particular brands?
Will be my first but partners 2nd, very nervous but excited at the same time. No idea what to expect but hoping to have some ladies in the same situation to chat to!

Newbie to the thread here :-). My BF and I are going to start TTC in March (getting the ski holiday out of the way first ). I'm 31 and this would be our first. Really excited but feeling very grownup which is a bit scary haha. Just wanted to say hey! I've been lurking for a couple of weeks but everyone seems so lovely I wanted to join in haha

Hey all! We are trying for our first and wanted to explain our situation, I came off the pill in December and had my withdrawal bleed , I then had my first natural bleed on the 10th January and haven’t had anything since then! Not a positive OPK and no AF. That’s CD35 now... what were your experiences with this? I’m 25 and had normal period before starting the pill 9 years ago. The fact I had a normal bleed 5/6 days after my withdrawal made me think my AF had started properly again already! Should I be more patient ? Should I keep doing OPKs? Congrats on all the BFP out there

I've rung my gp I was so confused both my pregnancies showed up 6 days before period. Period was due and not even a shadow yesterday I cried my eyes up I was in utter shock this morning and have put the tests in Kevin's Valentine's card but I caved and phoned him on his lunch break xx my gp said it doesn't matter what happens really in the two week wait what will be will be and said ring her next week as I feel this is too good to be true so going to wait until I've missed my period properly before she refers me to the midwife but she's prescribed me some diabetic strips as I was diabetic a week after my period last time around

Update wise from me, according to my apps I was in my fertile window last week. I think I have ovulated as had some EWCM and cramps. Couldn’t manage to get an OPK to show that though, think I’m going to give up with the cheap internet ones they get on my nerves if we haven’t managed it this cycle then I’m going to invest in a clear blue digital one!

As of today I’m CD17 so I guess officially in the 2 week wait, only had my first AF from coming off the pill end of January so I’m not 100% sure on cycle length but I’ll assume 30 days! I’m going to try and hold off testing until 1st March unless AF arrives before then! Unless I have some terrible symptoms or something how does everyone else feel after ovulation? I’m having cramps on and off and I just feel very ‘full’, boobs also really sore 🙄 been googling and it’s from the rise in progesterone after ovulation which mimics a lot of early pregnancy symptoms- cheers for that Mother Nature 😂

Anyone else looking to test around that time?

@yoomoo Thank you. Good luck ! I have my fingers crossed for you! I had a feeling because I was getting crazy dreams every night. Also tired .... maybe from the weird dreams 😂🙈. Now I'm mad hungry all the time.

I tested again Valentine's Day and it was darker. I'll use my last test Tuesday and then make myself stop unless anything bad happens. AF is actually due tomorrow so I'm really nervous ! But have my fingers crossed.

Slight update tonight, I don’t think I’m in my TWW yet! Did an OPK tonight out of boredom and I got the strongest reading I’ve ever had! Going to do another one in the morning and see what it says. Pic below, I know it’s not positive but the line has been pretty faint up until now and this is the darkest I’ve seen it. Having a lot of cramping tonight so wonder what’s going on

@yoomoo thanks for asking I've been tired and very hungry. Have had fish and chips and just sat eating some crisps good news is I'm not diabetic (have had gestational diabetes twice) yet so can eat what I like at present. I've pricked my finger a couple of times and all normal so eating carbs while I can haha.

@rhirhibumblebee good lines good to see your first response one I was worried my pink line was no dark enough but it's no lighter than yours so it's made me feel better I think I was expecting it to be as dark as the control. I got a positive on a digital yesterday said 1-2 so I'm going to try not to test for a week now until I can take another and hope for 3-4 xxx

How's everyone Else doing? The October 2020 thread on mumsnet is dead they've all moved over to Facebook already think we waited until the 12 weeks scans before we did that with my other two so there's literally no one to chat to until someone sees ive joined and adds me!

Think I'm out this month, negative today and period due Wednesday. Temp dropped this morning too.Timing wise it is better for work if I don't get pregnant until March onwards but I'm still a little disappointed! Never mind, on to the next!

@yoomoo had a Miss-miscarriage in Nov at 11 weeks.

I ovulated on Saturday afternoon and we had unprotected sex last Thurs, Fri and Sat x2!

Took a bit of a break for reading / posting here as found it all a bit hard whilst waiting for blood & scan results!

Yet to see a doctor but GP receptionist has said that my scan results show PCOS, I can't see a GP until the end of April (apparently no appointments) 😭

Oh...I got negatives on cheapies this morning (period due today) thought maybe a shadow but decided was being silly.

Still no sign so did a frer when I got in from work. ...bfp. yikes!

Hi started reading this thread earlier this evening then skipped to the end to see if any bfps to see lots.!! How exciting. My husband and I are ttc baby no 1, came off pill 18th December had withdrawal bleed until Xmas day. Currently on cd 61😕 no sign of period in sight and many a bfn stick in the bathroom bin! Need somethng to happen soon, wonder how long this first period may take to come. We have dtd plenty every 2 - 3 days throughout the month so hopefully when my body decides to start ovulating again I can catch it!!
